Opinion surveys consistently reveal that the majority of America supports the positions of the Democratic Party. As a matter of fact, recent polls have shown that 51% of Americans indicate they will support the Democratic party in upcoming elections! As the majority centrist party, we invite you to join us as we work to make the United States of America, and the World, better.
Sometimes, differences of opinion erupt into hostilities, which will not be tolerated here. Anyone and everyone is welcome, but those who prove to be troublemakers will be removed without prejudice. Please follow the rules of the community's road, below.
Moderators:
- Membership is required to post.
- LJ-Cut long posts. "Long" is subjective, we know. However, if you think it might be too long, it probably is. Please be proactive here.
ljdemocrats is not an RSS feed or a news board. Therefore, posting news articles or links to any other news/opinion material, including the copying/pasting of such, without accompanying commentary or other material intended to spur discussion provided by the poster, will not be tolerated.- The deleting, disabling or screening of comments is strictly prohibited. Even if those comments are personal attacks or other forms of trolling. Those who realize their comments are being deleted or screened should alert the moderators immediately. Those who receive comments that are untoward or in any other way violate community rules should also alert moderators immediately. This is an open discussion community. We can't have open discussions when they get deleted or in other ways truncated.
- No commercial advertisements or other posts deemed to be "spam" by the moderators are allowed in the community, as our members can certainly find materials online if they wish to do so. Commercial advertisements and "spam" will be deleted. Once again, if you think what you are posting may be considered "spam," it probably is. Please be proactive.
- No personal attacks or trolls will be allowed on anyone in this community. Everyone here deserves courtesy, not just members. Personal attacks and trolling will be dealth with quickly and consistently.
Personal attacks include, but are not limited to, name-calling and insults of intelligence, morality, or character.
The term "troll", when directed at another participant in the community, may be considered a "personal attack." If someone is called a troll, this will not necessarily result in a warning, unless the victim takes offense and brings it to the attention of the moderator, in which case a warning will be issued. Long story short, if you suspect trolling, contact the moderator. Call other participants "trolls" at your own risk!
We will work hard to ensure
For rules involving content/length of posts, one warning will be given to make the necessary changes within a responsible amount of time (as determined by the moderator). Failure to comply after that will, unfortunately, result in an "official warning."
All other rules, especially those involving personal attacks, when broken will result in an "official warning" immediately. Only 2 "official warnings" will be issued to anyone. Upon a third violation, of any sort, further action will be taken, including banning. This consistancy is applied so that everyone knows where they stand and everyone is treated the same. Additionally, it should be noted that "official warnings" are not necessarily permanent. Timing of violations will be taken into consideration when action is necessary.
Thanks for understanding and, even more so, for playing nice!
