Subject:Im Old Enough to Remember ....
Time:6:35 pm.
The Happening ....

Hey life look at me, I can see the reality
Cause when you shook me, took me out of my world
I woke up, suddenly I just woke up to the happening.

When you find that you left the future behind
Cause when you got a tender love you don-t
Take care of, then you better beware of the happening.

One day you-re up, then you turn around
You find your world is tumbling down
It happened to me and it can happen to you.

I was sure, I felt secure, until love took a detour
Yeah, riding high on top of the world
It happened, suddenly it just happened.

I saw my dreams torn apart, when love walked away from my heart
And when you lose that precious love you need to guide you
Something happens inside you, the happening.

Now I see life for what it is
It-s not all dreams, it-s not all bliss
It happened to me and it can happen to you
Once!

Ooo, and then it happened
Ooo, and then it happened
Ooo, and then it happened
Ooo, and then it happened.

Is it real, is it fake, is this game of life a mistake
Cause when I lost the love I thought was mine
For certain, suddenly I started hurting.

I saw the light too late, when that fickle finger of fate
Yeah came and broke my pretty balloon
I woke up, suddenly I just woke up to the happening.

So sure, I felt secure, until love took a detour
Cause when you got a tender love you don-t
Take care of, then you better beware of the happening

******************************************

The movie I thought was pretty good ... a mysterious event causes people to commit rather gruesome suicides (most of which had been in the previews). Once past that, it was more of a love story ... I would give it one thumb up!

okay, it is two in the morning and i just finished baking two apple pies and i have two more in the oven. one of the girls i work with has organized a craft fair with the proceeds going to the mspca. i'm going to donate the pies to the bake sale. hopefully they sell and then the animal shelter will get some cash.

work was okay. it was really insanely busy at first. it was out of control busy, we ran out of milk and had to send some one out to get it for us. for some reason we were really behind again at the end of the night. we closed really late. i didn't finish pull till after close and there wasn't even that much. i just wasted too much time and then had to rush at the end. we puched out at 10:50.

i'm hoping to get to bed around three. i've got to get up at 9 to shower and get ready. then i have to drive to marston mills to drop off the pies. i'm supose to hang out at the craft fair for while. i might try to go to the community college to see shannon. her boyfriend is compeating in a weight lifting competion there this weekend. after that i will have to go to work. i work two to close. after work there is a party. a lot of the college kids are back for the weekend.

my cold is getting better but i still wake up feeling like crap and my voice sounds awful. hopefully i'll be better soon. i'm sick of being sick.

got stung 7 or 8 times by yellowjackets.

yay.

called my health hotline [info]hb_merlot and he gave me some good advice which i followed, of course - I feel like two stingers are in my fingers (i know wasps don't NORMALLY lose their stingers... but believe me on this, there are two objects in my fingers where i got stung) and they are too far down to get them out with the 'ole credit card scraping trick.

a friend of mine said she remembers there being something you could buy to hep draw the stingers out - i've got no idea. I just know it's making my fingers very sensitive to just about everything.

otherwise i feel fine.

and no, i didn't get the cache - i went for a park and grab, instead. Much less nature around :p

i'm sick. i've been pretty sick for a few days now. it started getting bad on monday, tuesday i lost my voice and just felt awful, yesterday i had my voice back but still felt pretty bad and today i feel alright but still not 100%. i called out from work. there was no way i was going to work an 8 hour shift and close by myself. there is just too much work for me to do by myself when i'm not felling well. it would invovle too much running around and with the a/c broken at work it would make me feel even worse then i already do. hopefully tomorrow i will feel better. i am scheduled to close again. i'm not sure if i am supose to close by my self or not. probably i am scheduled to do it alone. they keep cutting hours and short staffing us. it really sucks. i can no longer afford to work there. i am not making enough money to cover the bills.

every once and a while i get the urge to do some horsey related research... just for fun. i reseached colored thoughbreds again. i was really sad about a month ago when i found out that some of the best colored thoroughbred stallions had died. both nite spot and patchuli had died. nite spot was a really cool looking thoroughbred with big spots like a paint and patchuli had almost an appaloosa style coat. i found a few new colored thoroughbred stallions with the sabino gene. these foals are loud; like mostly white. i'd love to have a thoroughbred like these guys. also just for fun i looked at palomino, cremello and white thoroughbreds too but not as much. i've looked at them before and the bloodlines don't change much. i'm starting to wonder about the inbreeding index on some of them. they all seem to contain the same lines. i'm glad that people are making an effort to presever the rare colors but i hope producing color doesn't become such a main focus that the breed traits and conformation start to suffer. its nice that they are pretty colors and all but if the horse isn't healthy what is the point.

just look at those photos. at first glance would you guess that he is a tb? i would love to own him. it would be so much fun to train and show a horse that looked like him.

here are some of the farms i found selling/breeding colored thoroughbreds:

joe left for virginia today. he gets back on monday. joe and ed ran through the entire set list of their preformance for me last night as practice. they did pretty good. after that i helped them put their eps together to hand out at the show. i think it will go well for them. i don't know how many people are going to love their music but it might spark some interest. they still have a long way to go and the kind of music they play is a little strange. they have a myspace page with some of their songs on it and their band is called saunce-bell.

Music:Pixies- All over the world.
A list of possible reasons.

1. When I try to translate manga I get distracted by all the pretty pictures.
2. When I speak to actual Japanese people I get nervous and tongue-tied and I can't accurately convey to them that yes, I really, swear to god, do understand you, I just can't manage to reply coherently because I'm so NERVOUS THAT I WILL FUCK UP.
3. My Kanji is for shit. Seriously. My brain is a kanji siv. I have to write them thousands upon thousands of times to remember them.
4. My Keigo is so bad that I want to die. No, seriously. No, I don't. But sometimes. Merg.
5. I ONLY remember conjugations for words that I have actually heard in memorable conversations. For example: I remember the te form (command form) of nomimasu (to drink) because one of my classmates once ordered her boyfriend to finish her soda, "Nonde!" and then insisted to me that she was a stereotypical Seme and that her boyfriend was as Uke as they came. WOULDN'T YOU REMEMBER?
6. Hikaru no Go is waaaaay more interesting than my homework.
7. So is Zettai. Especially since I just got around to drawing Ari's first appearance this weekend. Yes, really!
8. Did I mention Zettai? And pretty?
9. School is a half hour away and I hate it because by the time I walk home I'm tired and sweaty and I don't want to do work.
10. I suck, generally speaking.

Encouragement appreciated but not necessary.

I need to do better. I will. I will. I swear I will.

The Cab Driver Goes to Heaven

A cab driver reaches the Pearly Gates and announces his presence to St. Peter, who looks him up in his Big Book. Upon reading the entry for the cabbie, St. Peter invites him to pick up a silk robe and a golden staff and to proceed into Heaven.

A preacher is next in line behind the cabby and has been watching these proceedings with interest. He announces himself to St. Peter. Upon scanning the preacher's entry in the Big Book, St. Peter furrows his brow and says, "Okay, we'll let you in, but take that cloth robe and wooden staff."

The preacher is astonished and replies, "But I am a man of the cloth. You gave that cab driver a gold staff and a silk robe. Surely I rate higher than a cabbie."

St. Peter responded matter-of-factly: "This is heaven and up here, we are interested in results. When you preached, people slept. When the cabbie drove his taxi, people prayed."

Being the person who says what's on the minds of everyone else is hard, and sometimes the individual in that position needs to be elected by the masses in order to speak for everyone.

There was no opportunity for an official election in this case. It was geographic luck of the draw.

The Offending Instant Messenger Incident referred to below occurred approximately 38 minutes before the time of this posting, at a time when nobody in their right mind who lives on Eastern Standard Time is actually awake or looking at their computer screen. But fear not, Madame Social Justice: I am running on Japan time, and thus totally awake right now, and I've got your back.

*clears throat*

Hey.

You there.

YES, YOU.

She. Broke up. With you. Over a year ago.

I understand that you still have issues with what happened, and I think that's totally reasonable and fair. Without getting into what those issues are or the validity of your claims that they are All Her Fault (this is neither the time nor place) I just wanted to state for the record that the fact that you have issues is totally okay. I still have stuff to think about and reprocess from my previous (ancient history) relationships. We all have to revisit those things periodically. It's good to reflect on what happened between us and our exes in times gone by, and to learn from those experiences. Doing that helps make us into better people.

But why, why, WHY, are you still under the delusion that it's okay to leave cryptic away messages with her name in them for the world to see. OVER. A. YEAR. LATER!?

I know that sometimes not being able to see the person you broke up with face to face sucks, and this leads to the desire to send a little indirect hostility their way via the internet. But you know what a MATURE person does about it, at the stage of "Over a Year Later"? They bitch about it with their friends, they have a night of wild abandon playing Guitar Hero, and then they get the motherfucking crap over it enough to keep the rest of their hurt on the inside where nobody else has to deal with it because it's useless, old news.

Do you think you're alone in this situation? That the brand of pain you're indulging in is exclusive to you? Look around you at the people who care about you. Every one of them has got scars they carry, and shit that's unfinished, and things they would really, really like to say someday before they die, to someone in particular. EVERYONE. Get over it. Stop making everything, including the checking of our buddylists, revolve around YOU and YOUR PAIN.

Dude, your closest, nearest, dearest friends have done EVERYTHING short of tattooing you in your sleep to tell you that the way you handle this shit in public is not okay. They love you enough to put up with you when you're being a total jerk (to somebody that they care about, no less.) We all need that sometimes. You ought to be deeply moved by their loyalty. Show these people who love you some respect. Stop putting them through the awkward process of having to deal with you when you're being an inappropriate asshole. They may never leave your side for the shit that you do, but that doesn't make the shit that you do okay.

Look. Go to therapy. Please. Talk to somebody whose job it is to help you deal with all of this, someone who is qualified to help you. Get over her. Get over the breakup. Get over yourself. Meet somebody new. Fall in love with someone new. Get married. Have a happy life with nine children and a dog and a picket fence.

Just PLEASE stop making me deal with your petty internet bullshit throwing because I'm too nice to defriend you on Facebook, block you on AIM, and ban you from texting my phone. OKAY?

There's no need for you to reply to this post. Absolutely none. You don't have to mention it to me in public or in private, or show it to all of our friends (though I'm not ashamed of anything I've said, and you can do totally go ahead and do those things if you want to.) Please just take my advice. And be glad I didn't find it necessary or appropriate to say these things to you out loud in a room full of our friends when I could have six or so months ago. Trust me when I say you'd have liked that a whole lot less.

Subject:The End of Evolution?
Time:6:28 pm.
The End of Evolution

Posted: Tuesday, October 07, 2008 at 3:55 pm ET

The evolutionist is locked into an intellectual box from which there is no rescue. Evolutionary theory is naturalistic by necessity -- everything must be explained in purely naturalistic terms. Only nature can explain nature, and there is no other source of meaning or truth. Thus, in the end the theory of evolution -- and the theory of evolution alone -- must explain everything about humanity.

This predicament was made clear in a lecture recently given by geneticist Steve Jones at University College London. Speaking on his chosen topic, "Evolution is Over," Jones argued that human evolution has reached an end because of changes in human health and human behavior.

This argument stands in stark contrast to those offered by other evolutionists, who now call on humanity to use modern reproductive technologies and techniques designed to enhance the species. Some go so far as to argue that humans must employ these technologies and direct evolution in order to save the species from itself.

Jones, known for his 2002 book, Y: The Descent of Men. In that book, Jones argued that males were something of a temporary necessity for the evolutionary process. He minimized the role of the male to that of providing male gametes. The male exists to "fecundate" his partner. That's it. Everything else can be done by females, who are going to live longer anyway.

Now, Jones argues that human evolution is at a standstill because one of the crucial engines of evolutionary change, genetic mutation, is stalled. Jones explained that evolution moves forward by natural selection, mutation, and random change. Mutation is stalled, at least in part, because fewer older men are having babies.

As The Times [London] explains:

This is because cell divisions in males increase with age. “Every time there is a cell division, there is a chance of a mistake, a mutation, an error,” he said. “For a 29-year old father [the mean age of reproduction in the West] there are around 300 divisions between the sperm that made him and the one he passes on – each one with an opportunity to make mistakes.

“For a 50-year-old father, the figure is well over a thousand. A drop in the number of older fathers will thus have a major effect on the rate of mutation.”

Professor Jones added: “In the old days, you would find one powerful man having hundreds of children.” He cites the fecund Moulay Ismail of Morocco, who died in the 18th century, and is reputed to have fathered 888 children.

Jones went on to argue that better health and rates of infant survival have also removed some engines of mutation. Add to that the fact that human populations are now so diverse, with marriage patterns commonly crossing ethnic and racial lines. As Jones explained, "“Small populations which are isolated can evolve at random as genes are accidentally lost. World-wide, all populations are becoming connected and the opportunity for random change is dwindling. History is made in bed, but nowadays the beds are getting closer together. We are mixing into a global mass, and the future is brown.”

Steve Jones offered a public lecture at University College London, but he also offers a larger lesson on the inherent limitations of the evolutionary worldview. Darwinism has to explain everything -- even why some people accept evolutionary theory and others do not.

Evolutionary theory cannot possibly explain the totality of human experience, much less the reality of human origins. Evolutionists -- if consistent -- believe that every human experience, every emotion, every physical attribute, every hope, and every fear is simply a feature developed by means of natural selection.

That's a cold theory, and it just doesn't make sense to the vast majority of Americans -- and it shouldn't. The Christian worldview offers a far more satisfying, true, and understandable account of human origins and human existence.

In any event, human evolution is now over. You heard it from Steve Jones.
