I feel the need (finally - it has been years!) to concoct something to protect my home. I have been robbed 3 times - by friends who have serious problems.
i don't follow recipes. i use what i have or can get easily. so does anyone know of any herbs, spices, leaves, etc. that would work to protect my house from intrusions and also help heal my friends?

The following is what i have come up with so far.
Cinnamon - purification
Clover Flowers - personal
Eucalyptus- personal, after contact with evil
Possibly steeped in a white vinegar "tea" so i can anoint various parts of my house.

Any suggestions, ingredients etc. are extremely appreciated.

This will be cross-posted. So, sorry if you see it again somewhere.

Hello

I have just stumbled upon this page and I instantly feel a sense of calm. It's lovely.

I've just joined this site and am keen to get talking to people and get to know others who have similar intersts in the wiccan way of life.

I am a 26yr old solitary witch but I don't tend to follow one path or another. I prefer to respectfully borrow parts from a range of areas such as herbs, crystals, candles a little tarot and on a full moon I tend to practice candle magic and meditation. I feel drawn to so many different areas of wicca and I find this allows me to be free with my practice.

I am hoping to get talking to lots of people and keep a 'blog' of my spiritual journey. Be good to hear from you.

Blessings

Merry Meet!

I just found this place a couple of minutes ago, and as I entered I got this warm feeling that said, "Here are people who are actually committed to and interested in the craft, and who don't just go along for the ride" (as so many others do). So basically, I think I'm going to like it here. The spiritual side to paganism, which is so often forgotten among books and candles and complicated chants, has always been the most important aspect to me.^^

So who am I? A "poor" (unemployed, sigh) girl of 20 years with far too many interests to count. I found Wicca when I was 11, and I've stayed with it since.

Glad to meet you all! :)

Another Noob!

Hello Everyone! I'm also new to the group, and in a way to witchcraft...

I was first introduced to Wicca and Paganism when I started High School. An elder taught me very briefly (no more than a month), and he and a friend said "I had the stuff". However, as I had grown up in a very religiously confused (see my journal) household, I felt like I needed to seek more before making a choice. After a few more years of shopping around, I was a happy Buddhist for 7 years. I was never really that far, but then my sister got into Wicca a couple years ago. Ten years since I was first taught, the night of the 2008 Spring Equinox (which meant nothing at the time), after watching the DaVinci Code for the 30th time, I read parts of the Malleus Malificarum online, and asked to borrow my little sister's Wicca books. I read through her collection in a week, and started buying books left and right. I had come home. It all seemed so right, and I realized, I missed the presence of Diety in my life as a Buddhist, and I have already noticed positive change in my life.

I am glad to be back, and I like I said, although I read through many books, I have decided to work through the exercises in The Inner Temple of Witchcraft by Christopher Penczak, and I also bought the CD set of the guided meditations, which are very helpful.

Introduction

Hey everyone. I just joined, so I figured I should introduce myself to all of you.

My name is Brad and I live near Los Angeles. I'm 20 years old. I'm currently very, very new to all this. I've known a little about Wicca and paganism for years, but I didn't start really researching it until a month or two ago. I immediately liked what I saw. I was a Christian until I was about 16, when I gave up on it and became agnostic. I've always had a great appreciation of nature and an open-minded and tolerant outlook on life. For me, Christianity wasn't compatible enough with my views.

I'm still not one hundred percent sure if this is the right path for me, but the feeling seems to be right. I try to read and learn as much as I can, and I hope I can learn a lot from everyone here.

Inspiring Pictures

There are three pictures that inspire me and definitely put me in the mood for my workings.  They are the three Masonic tracing boards that Lady Frieda Harris made.  Even though she is best known for the Thoth tarot deck she was also a Co-Mason and did many other pieces of esoteric art.

the picture theme

so i was thinking about the picture theme and i really wanted to contribute. i don't have any cool pictures that i've taken myself and this isn't quite a natural thing but it hold meaning for me.

so, i'm a fan of tattoos and i got a real beauty this spring. it's flowers and for me the symbolism in it represents my feelings of connectedness to the earth. i like the feeling of displaying that to the world and even though not everyone would get the precise message that i am sending, it's still there.

so this is a link to the site for my tattoo artist. he added me to his portfolio! my ankle is the bottome left.

check it out. you can't see it but the tattoo continues down the front of my foot with a trail of petals from the yellow pink flowers.

Image Week!

Hello, everyone! We've been pretty quiet lately, so I thought I'd start a little group project. Post any picture, or link to pictures, that you find beautiful or inspiring to the pagan parts of you.

Please remember the comm rules (cut after one pic, no hardcore sexual images) but feel free to post as many pictures as you'd like.

I'll start. ^_^ )

July 18th full moon blessing/cleansing

I am going to do another full moon cleansing/blessing ritual on the 18th of JULY 2008..

The last month brought such a great response (over 50 people who wanted some positive light)  that I have decided to continue on with this idea..

If you would like some positive energy sent your way please reply back to this thread via a comment and I assure you I will write your name down and focus my energy that night for you..

You are also, more than welcome to join me in this ritual this night by simultaneously joining in and doing your own ritual at home.. (the invocation can be found on my LJ homepage if you wish to use it)

We all need positive energy in our lives. =) BELIEVE IN KARMA.

Blessed be friends.

Midsummer Poems

Hello everyone!  Sorry I've been quiet lately!  Anyway, I wanted to share with you two poems I wrote on Midsummer day.  Enjoy!

Goddess Within

There, amidst the Midsummer star She rises serene,
Her eyes sparkle with the Life of creation.
She walks with confidence in Her step
and the Sun in Her eyes.
He not mistaken by Her slendor figure,
For She has all the power and strength of the world.
She has the power of possibility.
Now take a step back and realize
You were gazing into a mirror:
She is you, as you are She.

Midsummer

The Earth is warm this hot Solstice day,
But do notforget winter is not far away.
Tomorrow the Sun King begins His decline
And surrenders Himself to the Holly.
Today the Sun is in His zenith,
And many more hot days are left of summer.
Embrace the warmth and beauty of the Earth,
and enjoy the Sun until He sets.

Happy Midsummer!

Just a little something I wrote, figured I'd share for Midsummer. Cross posted, sorry if you get repeats.

When the Yuletide log is lighted
Imbolgc fires will soon be ignites
Ostara sees eggs in fashion
Beltane brings love and passion
At Midsummer praise the Sun
Lammas means the wheat is done
Mabon brings fruit and gourd
Samhain's time to mourn the Lord

When the wheel has done it's turn
Seen the Sun rise and burn
Seen the full moon thirteen times
Lives the good and hard times
When the novice, Wicca become
Then it is a year and a day done
By the Lady, three times three
The Wheel has turned, So Mote It Be.

Happy Solstice everyone!

Archangel Wish Spell

Materials Needed

3 white candles
a plate
sugar

Place 3 white candles on a plate. Pour sugar on the plate to surround the candles. Place the plate on the highest place in your house. Light the candles. Invoke/Pray to Archangel Rafael, Archangel Michael, and Archangel Gabriel. One wish for business, one wish for love, and one impossible wish. Snuff out the candles. DO NOT BLOW THEM OUT!! (It scatters the energy) On the third day, pass this spell along to someone else. This can be mailed, email, posted online, etc. On the fourth day, you will see your spell working.

This has fed my spirit like it hasn't been fed in quite some time.

Fifty-Two )

From the beautifully poetic John Bright-Fey's translation of the Tao Te Ching (my new favorite thing evereverever).

Due to my Christian roots, it has always been easier for me to embrace the masculine principle of God.  I enjoy connecting with the Spirit of Mary and the feminine side of Christian mysticism, but it hasn't been the same as my familiar experience of resting in the arms of God.  Part of why I try to incorporate more pagan and magical beliefs into my personal spirituality is because I wanted to deepen my connection to the Divine Feminine.  This piece has truly aided me in this.  I can just feel her in and through it every time I read it (over and over and over, lately).  It feels like she is sitting next to me, or like we are cuddled up and she reads it to me as a Mother would read a bedtime story.

I thought all you Goddess lovers would enjoy this as well.

how do you get rid of someone elses energy?

I'm not sure if I am the only one who experiences this.. maybe because my clairsentient ability is quite high, im not sure..

When I am talking to someone and or consulting with them I can easilty tune in to what they are feeling and react according to it.

I'm only asking because I had a person who I was reading for yesterday who was very very emotionally upset-
to the point of being angry and mad at her situation and just couldn't see the clairity that I was trying to offer her..

It was so hard for me to get rid of her energy link after the reading, that had to take a breather -literally- outside, to get in touch with natures natural positive energy and balance myself once again.

So here is the discussion question to which I am posting now.

Q:   How do you as an empath get rido of the psychic link after the session is complete?
