New category (official announcement)
As many of you already know, there is a new category on the support board for "communities". The admin of this community is [info]gooner, and the basepoint starts at 2. The question I have for you is, should the basepoint be something different? [info]emmavescence pointed out her opinion here, and I want to get the general concensus from this community before any changes are made to it.

I'm not sure... but I think I agree with [info]emmavescence... it is a very generalised category...

I think it should start as 1; the requests have more or less been split off from gen/unk, and the ones that I've seen so far don't include the complicated code or overrides that Customization and Embedding include.

1 point. Most questions can be covered by point them to one faq or the FAQCAT. In fact, I've not sure I've ever had a communities question that the answer was not posted in the FAQS.

i say 1, since it was split off from gunk, like rahaeli said.

and hell, gooner says 1 and he's the admin, so should there really be much more debate? ;)

I'd also opt for one point. It's rare to see a really tricky community question. Customization and embedding are 2 points because a lot of them involve time consuming code, but I can't think of anything like that for communities. Besides, if you keep it at 2 points we'll need to edit the support guide. :)

i don't find much time to make it back on that side of the field much anymore, but from the few community questions i answered way back when, i'd say that any difficult ones worth 2 points relative to other traffic would get there soon enough anyway, but that most of it can be handled without as much time-intensive effort as the customization or abuse traffic. if we'd had an LJ poll here, i would've cast my lot in for 1 point
