This community has, up until now, housed discussion pertaining to both the en_GB translation as well as the en_LJ translation. Moving forward, this community will be focused solely on en_GB issues. To report errors in en_LJ text, please open a support request instead. :)
Dec. 16th, 2007 @ 04:17 am Text for the "download Gizmo" page
If height and width in pixels are not included when adding an image through the custom mood theme editor, the edit fails with no explanation. This is not documented. Could we please change "width" and "height" to "width in pixels (required)" and "height in pixels (required)"?
Nov. 26th, 2007 @ 11:33 pm HTML tag exposed in validation reminder
In en_LJ.dat, the protocol.not_validated translation string:
An anchor tag is exposed in the validation reminder which appears after you post an entry while not being validated. Should probably just link straight to FAQ11 because the HTML in this string is escaped, while links in it are auto-linkified.
This page lets you remove past e-mail addresses that were used with your account. If you remove an address, it will no longer be possible to have your password a password reset request mailed to that address. This is useful if somebody discovered your password and hijacked your journal. Simply have the new password mailed to your old address, change the password, and remove the attacker's e-mail address.
There have been several Support requests lately from users who misinterpreted the directions on the Use A Rename Token page and selected the "Remove everyone from your Friend Of list" option without realizing that this affected "Mutual Friends" as well as those listed as "Also Friend Of." Maybe this needs to be clarified?
Looking at the Suggest a Spotlight page, the first two fields to fill in are labelled "Username or community name" and "Name of journal/community". This is pretty ambiguous, as the two essentially mean the same thing - especiallly if you're trying to submit a community, when the fields become essentially "Community name" and "Name of community". It's pretty confusing. :)
Assuming that the first field is looking for the username as found in the URL, and the second is looking for a display name (for example, "lj_english" vs. "LiveJournal English Text"), I would suggest that the second say "Display name of journal/community", as this will make the difference clear. :)
"If you are savy with graphic design, check out the LiveJournal Art Community, lj_art."
First of all, savvy is spelt wrong. Second, lj_art has been deleted and replaced with lj_design. Since lj_design is a little different, you might say "graphic design or usability" or something like that.
The 'Email Notifications' option, 'Receive email notifications when others comment' actually allows you to recieve emails of replys to any of your journal entries or comments, even ones not in your personal journal. This is not clear currently as the option resides in a section named 'Comments on your journal', implying that only replys to comments and entries in your own journal will be emailed.
However, the similar ESN setting 'Someone comments in my journal, on any entry', does do exactly what it says.
