Today we learned of the massive $25.4 million our opponents have raised so far. They are using this war chest to broadcast lies: 24/7 and up and down the state of California.

And the polls show the lies are working. We need your donation now.

Yesterday’s CBS 51 poll shows that:
“…likely California voters overall now favor passage of Proposition 8 by a five-point margin, 47 percent to 42 percent. Ironically, a CBS 5 poll eleven days prior found a five-point margin in favor of the measure's opponents.”

People change their minds about Proposition 8 when they hear the lie that churches will lose their tax-free status if they won’t marry same-sex couples – EVEN THOUGH THIS IS NOT TRUE!

So this is crunch time. With less than a month before the election, we must get on the air now to answer these lies and swing votes back to our side.

And the ONLY way to do that it to raise more money. The generous $15.8 million that our supporters have given isn’t enough. Not when the other side has nearly $10 million more than we do and the fundraising gap is growing.

So, how much will you sacrifice to protect your equality or the equality of people you love? It’s that simple. Will you give up something, anything, to ensure equality?

I am. I’m donating 15% of my income to make sure that the No on Prop 8 campaign can answer these lies. It’s going to make my life more difficult to make a donation of this size — but I know I have to make this sacrifice to achieve victory on November 4.

Offer #2: Story/Fic Postcards
I love all the offers for letters and penpals so I thought I would make my own. Every month for a year I'd send a postcard (or some kind of funky card, or a letter) with a story (original or fanfic or both, there's 12 of them so you can pick and choose) similar to the format of Waterstone's What's Your Story contest where the story will fit on the card.

I'm open to writing gen, slash, het, and femslash, incest pairings and most anything else, but know I am awful at smut. I like to write humor and angst and h/c and AUs and crossovers and fluff and crack. I'd hash out the details about what fandoms and prompts etc you'd like at the beginning and then what you get each month will be a bit of a surprise chosen from what we discussed.

Sherwood Smith and I write TV together, and co-created an animated series for the Jim Henson Company (currently in development.)

We are offering a copy of a spec script which we co-wrote for Avatar: the Last Airbender. This is an extremely limited offer, as the script was written to showcase our TV writing skills to network executives and is not be available for general distribution.

Sherwood wanted to write sexual tension and moral ambiguity. I wanted to push the limits of bending. When we combined those elements, we got the script on offer, "Fire and Water." It's set immediately after the events of "The Western Air Temple," and focuses on Zuko, Katara, and a special surprise guest star.

Offer 1: I will use my skills with photoshop to color your lineart, or a black and white image of your choice (from a manga or something else you have permission to alter). Anime or manga styles are preferred, but I can likely work with almost anything. My coloring style is very much suited more towards anime and manga however. Original art or fanart is fine by me. I will just admit right now, I'm not very good at coloring angel wings, and I haven't tried coloring fur yet.

I don't require that the art be inked, I'm perfectly willing and able to clean lineart as long as the lines are visible in a scan.

All I need is the art and some method of knowing what colors to use. Either a color image of the same character, references of colors you want (like providing an image of someone's hair color that you like for instance), or a description of what you are thinking.

If you want fanfiction, I write mostly for DC Comics, though I am also comfortable writing in the Shakespeare, Doctor Who, Harry Potter, Invader Zim, and occasionally Marvel fandoms, though with these and any other fandoms email me first to discuss what I'll write. And, like I said, I'm also happy to write original fiction. I'll do any rating and almost any pairing, alternate universes, crossovers, whatever, but I don't write incest or mpreg.
