| | PC: A-Team | ] | Hello guys and girls *waves*
please could you help me? i want to get my 2 year old son a cartoon type film that i used to watch when i was his age. the problem being that i can't remember what it was called :o/ my parents bought me a rental copy when i was about 3 yrs which i wore out because i watched it so much lol ;o)
the cartoon film i think was called 'professor ......" but i could be totally wrong lol. it had a little rounded man in it who i think was bald on top with white hair round the sides. he had an umbrella that had a ducks head for a handle. the duck could talk and the inventor often used it as a pogo stick to travel around. i remember a lady robot in it and i think there may have been a rocket/time machine or something. i also remember lots of animals and weird things that could talk.
the tune went a little like this - dum di dum dum, dum di dum dum, dum di dum dum di dum dum........
yeah i bet that made no sence at all lol XoD |

| The Male Privilege Checklist |
[May. 24th, 2006|01:12 am] |
43 instances of how men are better off than women.
This list is full of rash generalizations and woefully short on anything resembling facts, statistics or evidence. Some of the entries are patently true and hard to argue against. Other things on the list are simply untrue, unprovable, or completely based on anecdotal 'evidence'. Some of the issues the author (B Deutsch, whomever that is) chooses to focus on are, in my opinion, embarrassingly petty and do more harm than good to the whole cause.
And before you get pissed off at me... at least this post doesn't have anything to do with Big Brother.
( blow by blow rebuttals, just because... ) |

Wait! You haven't qualified for your free gift yet! Spend a minimum of £45.00 on goods (excluding certificates, vouchers, gift wrap and delivery) to get a free Osaki Japanese Clitoral Vibrator. You need to spend £0.03 more.
And there's nothing on the site for 3p. There was a glow in the dark condom for 25p but they're out of stock. Grrr! |

I know this is a longshot, but here goes:
A few weeks ago either in the Guardian or the Observer there was an article about train trips over the coasts on England. There was one that I want to say went over the east coast on a very scenic route from London, and then to or through Cambridge I believe. Does anyone have that around and know what date that was printed? I had saved it and Husband accidentally threw it away. |

| Good morning all you lovely people. |
[May. 24th, 2006|09:50 am] |
I'm looking for a bit of help please.
As part of my job I occasionally forward research questionnaires on behalf of my students using the student email system. This morning I had replies to various questionnaires (all sent this academic year) from one particular student, each telling me - in 24pt Arial - to 'Fuck off'. I could take it through official channels as abuse of the student email system but it would take forever for anything to be done, so instead I want to sign him up for lots of spam emails.
So, does anyone know of any companies whose mailing list it's practically impossible to remove oneself from?
Edited to add: Ok, change of plan due to legal issues. There's still no way anything will get done through 'official' channels before graduation, so I'll need to come up with a 'Plan B'. Suggestions...?
Edited (again) to add: Thanks everyone for putting me off what was a very stupid idea. Just to explain, I was incredibly angry at the emails I cam into work to, and have now decided to forward the emails to IT Services and copy the student into them. Even though nothing is likely to be done in time, the student might at least think (or maybe even worry a little) about what he has done. |

| Paypal sucks. |
[May. 24th, 2006|11:59 am] |
No, really. It does.
Paypal has suddenly decided it hates my bank account. It's a while since it's needed money added to it, so I'm wondering if it has my old debit card number (Switch cards having changing issue numbers and all).
The thing is, I can't see how to change it. Surely I don't need to add a new bank account, do I? |

I really need to find a job, I don't even know what I want to do.
I want to be a rock star! But I'm lacking in certain qualities for that. I've tried my hand a pole dancing, but again, lacking. I just don't want to work weekends (NB: I wouldn't mind working weekends if I were to be a rock star) I've got a degree in Modelling, sadly its not the kind where you get addicted to cocaine and make loads of money.
Any suggestions? |

| educational game? |
[May. 24th, 2006|02:56 pm] |
Okay, this has been bugging me for a few months now so I turn in desperation to the people of this community.
I'm trying to remember/trying to acquire a game I played when I was in Junior School, which was about eleven years ago now (oh dear). We played it on an old Acorn computer and it was one of those educational games. All I really remember is the fact there was a witch and a cottage, and that it involved a lot of text-based puzzles (I think). Having done some research, I don't think it's the Crystal Rainforest.
What's really annoying is the fact I remember reading a thread on it in this community about four/five months ago and forgetting to bookmark it as I was in a hurry; it's been annoying the hell out of me ever since. So, any ideas? |

Oh wise people of livejournal_uk .....
I'm considering switching my gas/electricity supplier and financially would be better off with 'London Energy'. Has anyone used them and if so how did they find them as a company? Did they sort out problems quickly or do you usually give up after half an hour in a queue on the phone?
Any opinions very gratefully recieved! Horror stories are also very welcome..... |

Wondering if anyone can help me here..im on a laptop, about 3-4 years old, and to me feels dreadfully slow as im used to a PC 2ghz faster, so was thinking perhaps about having a go upgrading, if I could get the right components..however, I cant seem to find anything about the motherboard to find what it supports!! Belarc says : Board: SHARP Corp. PC-GP1 Series 5a Serial Number: NA202022545 Bus Clock: 100 megahertz but searching on google doesnt find anything on the serial number nor the board type.. The laptops current stats are: Athlon4 1.2ghz, 512mb ram (listing 496mb), 8mb S3 graphics, 40gb HD, 8x CD-RW so really only the processor and graphics card letting it down which id like change, but without the boards max stats, no idea what it supports up too! |

| iPod |
[May. 24th, 2006|08:00 pm] |
I love my ipod.. I've had it almost two years now & it has survived many knocks & being dropped alot ;) I am also one of those rare people who love using itunes (how it organises my music into folders.. hehe)
But the battery is now dying.. I have three options. Opinions!
1. Buy a new battery! 2. Buy a new iPod! (It is my 18th soon..!) 3. Buy a new mp3 player..!
I don't even know where to start looking for a new mp3 player, has to have alot of space (I have 15gb of music at least) & be cute looking (well, not huge & bulky like those Zen things I've seen) yes I am that shallow. ;)
The software any new music player has really has to be easy to use! I don't ask for alot.. |

| Sorry to make a post about big brother. =P |
[May. 24th, 2006|09:25 pm] |
I know you all hate these posts here.
But am I the only person who feels sorry for Shabaz or however you spell his name? I'm watching big brother now on channel 4, and it just seems like everyones ganging up on him and bullying him. :| Not one person has stuck up for him, and yarr I just think that's kind of evil. Poor old dude. :(
Like yeah he may be a little bit annoying, but no one deserves to be treated like that and to feel that sad and stuff. :| It's like everyone else in there enjoys seeing him upset and stuff. :/ |
