Community Profile

This community was created for the purpose of mocking mainstream and science fiction novels that are not as good as the reviewers claim, and vilifying the "classic" literature forced on us in Highschool or the average literature class. It was inspired by a post requesting rants about much hated books and authors.

Think Anne Rice needs to be on medication? That the main characters of Rita Mae Brown's books have turned into Mary Sues? That Great Expectations sucks beyond all telling? Want to defend the books other people hate with a relentless passion? Rec books that will save the sanity lost to bad writers writing horrible books?

Then this is probably your community.

The standard rules are:

1. No flaming or attacks on other members. You can argue about the book as much as you like, but personal attacks can result in banning.

2. On topic posts only, unless they are laugh out loud funny and have *something* to do with reading, including comic books, graphic novels, etc. Web comics and comic strips and even editorial cartoons may also be accepted.

3. List the name of the writer, the book you're snarking, etc. in your Subject heading.

4. Please put an lj-cut on the following:
Graphics/Art
Long posts
Posts with "adult content."
Posts about books that have "adult content."

5. Please do not delete posts or comments.
