SPOILER ALERT!

While we don't want to ruin the plot for any latent Twi-hards, ever since Eclipse started filming we've been dying for a sneak peek of Bella's wedding dress. In the meantime, we reached out to some of our favorite designers (Christian Siriano's sketch at left) to see how they envision her gown.

In Eclipse, Bella's dress is described as an early 1900s design (which complements her antique engagement ring) with friend and Maid of Honor Alice Cullen's modern tweaks to the train and veil. "You look like you just stepped out of an Austen movie," Bella's mother says to the bride-to-be when she spies her in the gown in the final book, Breaking Dawn. "It's gorgeous! So graceful, so elegant."

There are some things you can always count on in one of today's modern vampire novels: a breathless, cross-species love affair, bone-breaking lovemaking, lots of smoldering eyes and buckets of spilled blood. But, according to TMZ, an author named Jordan Scott claims she saw a few too many similarities between her 2006 vamp tale, "The Nocturne," and "Twilight" scribe Stephenie Meyer's 2008 book, "Breaking Dawn."

In a cease-and-desist letter obtained by the site, Scott's publisher claims the fourth book in the "Twilight" series has "striking and substantial" similarities to "The Nocturne," part of a trilogy that 21-year-old musician/author Scott began writing when she was 15.

The letter claims there are a number of coincidences in the plotlines of the books, including a wedding, a post-wedding sex scene, a woman becoming sick because she's carrying a child with "evil powers" and the death of a main character. The letter from a lawyer for Scott also claims that "both the ideas and in many instances the text" of the two books are very similar.

Among the examples of the similarities is a scene in which a main character is ill from carrying a child with dark powers. In Scott's book, the description reads in part, "Her face was so pale, it was frightening; and there were beads of sweat pouring down her forehead. She couldn't even stand, she was so weak. ... She was violently ill, vomiting and scarcely able to catch her breath."

In the allegedly similar scene in "Dawn," Meyer writes: "Most of her dark hair was pulled away from her face into a messy knot, but a few strands stuck limply to her forehead and neck, to the sheen of sweat that covered her skin. There was something about her fingers and wrists that looked so fragile it was scary. She was sick. Very sick."

The dozen examples given by Scott's lawyer display some general similarities in tone and setting common to vampire tales, but, according to TMZ, an unnamed representative for Meyer dismissed the accusation. "The claim that 'Breaking Dawn' by Stephenie Meyer somehow infringes on an alleged book by someone named Jordan Scott is completely without merit. Neither Stephenie Meyer nor her representatives had any knowledge of this writer or her supposed book prior to this claim."

Spokespeople for Scott and Meyer could not be reached for comment at press time.

ReelzChannel wrote an article on the top 10 ways Breaking Dawn the movie will be better than the book, or turn into a one way trip on the FAIL!boat. They shared a lot of my sentiments and it has some good lulz:

After Robert Pattinson’s announcement that Breaking Dawn, the fourth book in Stephenie Meyer’s ridiculously popular Twilight Saga, will hit the big screen, we got to thinking: Will it make a good movie? And more important, will it turn out better than the book?

Breaking Dawn is very different from the first three novels in the series (Twilight, New Moon, and Eclipse) and saw numerous mixed reviews during its release week. The millions-strong fan base was divided — everyone either loved it or hated it.

We’ve come up with 10 ways the movie could either rake in major box-office bucks or epically fail in a way not seen since Speed Racer dropped off the face of the planet. Even Pattinson might not be enough to save this one.

And the top 10 reasons are... )

Kristen Stewart was recently photographed in Santa Monica for an up-coming issue for Allure Magazine, and the photos are, in a word, magnificent.
[ * Warning * Below are potential spoilers about the fate of Bella Swan in Breaking Dawn ]
Magnificence, to say the least, is what we should expect from Bella Cullen in The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn. Stewart, who has stated quite plainly that she intends to reprise her role as Bella should Breaking Dawn ever come to film, would have to look quite differently than she does in Twilight, The Twilight Saga: New Moon, and The Twilight Saga: Eclipse (not to say she isn't already gorgeous, of course).

Here are a few samples of Breaking Dawn's descriptions of Bella, once the ever-elusive change finally comes to being in the book.

OK I just got off the phone with the publisher and the girl told me that there is no additional information in this book just that it has like a leather back ribbon cover on it. She said its basically like the the Twilight Special Edition that was out.  With that being said I think I am going to cancel my order. LOL

For those that are interested in ordering it still here is the link:

US author Stephenie Meyer

Stephenie Meyer's series, The Twilight Saga, has broken the book sales record set by
Dan Brown.

US author Stephenie Meyer's bestselling vampire series, The Twilight Saga, has smashed the
book sales record set by Dan Brown's The Da Vinci Code.
Copies of Breaking Dawn, the latest book in the four-part series, flew off Australian bookstore
shelves at a rate of 19,800 copies each week during January, according to Nielsen Bookscan.
The previous record for January sales was held by The Da Vinci Code, with 14,500 copies sold
in the first month of 2005.
Since 2003, average January sales for the number one book has been 6,900 units.
The four books in Meyer's series are currently sitting at the top of the bestseller chart, with
Breaking Dawn in first place followed by Eclipse, New Moon and Twilight.
A new edition of Twilight, released last year to tie in with the film starring Robert Pattinson
and Kristen Stewart, comes in at number seven, while Meyer's adult novel The Host is at
number 13.
Worldwide sales for the Twilight Saga are now at 42 million copies, with 1.4 million of those
sales coming from Australia

Thanks to [info]rekcusho, I now have the scans of the first volume of the Japanese edition of Breaking Dawn, titled "Twilight 10: vampire no hanayome (the vampire bride)". The scans are a bit spoilerish, so if you haven't read Breaking Dawn yet, I'd recommend you not to look at them XD I can just say that I guessed fairly right which scenes were turned into illustrations ;)

(I'm unsure if it's against the rules to post this, but I'll just try because it has a connection to Edward and Bella.)

I just went to the homepage of the Japanese publisher of the Twilight books and found out that "Breaking Dawn" is, just like the other books, once again split into 3-4 books.
The first one is titled "Twilight 10: The Vampire bride" and will be released at the end of November (in case you wonder why it's called "Twilight 10": The other books were all titled "Twilight" (yes, even "New Moon" and "Eclipse") and got a number applied to it as well as an individual title in order to distinguish them).
It will also, once again, have illustrations by Mangaka GotsuboxRyuji; the official cover is not yet up.

In case someone's interested (though there's just a piece of the wedding written down in order to make potential buyers and fans interested) and/or can speak Japanese, here's the link to the homepage:

http://www.villagebooks.co.jp/books-list/detail/978-4-86332-101-4.html

I will post the cover once it's up on the homepage :)

So I've noticed a lot of negativity towards the last book, 'Breaking Dawn', and as sad as it is, I agree with everyone's feelings towards it as well. So I came up with a little poll to see how many people would want them to make it into a movie. It's for my own interest, though I'm sure other's would like to see the results as well.

If it's not allowed, please delete!

Warning! Some of the questioning may bear spoilers if you have not read BD!

Click to take the little poll! )
