So I saw this idea in a few other communities and forums and I thought it might be fun to do here...


+ Have you ever been in the mood to write or make a fan vid or draw something, but you just don't have the inspiration?

+ Have you ever had an amazing idea for a fic that you would love to see written but just don't have the time/inclination to do it yourself?

Post any plot bunnies, prompts, ideas, lyrics, quotes, pictures that you think could inspire fan works - fan fic, fan vids, fan art, fan mixes, etc.

One BIG rule: If you post your idea here, expect people to run with it. Anything posted here is fair game for all fan artists. So if you're not willing to share it, please don't post it here.

And if you complete a fan work inspired by one of these prompt, please remember to post a link as a reply to the prompt comment so the person can see what you came up with!

Finally, we will try and link to this post every once in a while in the weekly rec post and the request post to keep it fresh.

New rule. If you are posting 10 images or less (of whatever, cast images, Robert, Kristen.. we don't discriminate), upload them and post them under a lj-cut. Do not link us to another site. It's a hassle. There have been numerous times where a site gets so much traffic it goes down for a while or is too slow, etc etc. It's just more convenient to post them directly here. The only time to link us elsewhere is when there's more than 10 pictures; even then, please post AT LEAST 10 of those images and link to the rest.

From now on we'll be rejecting posts that do not follow this.

header contest

It's time to bring out your photoshop again for our new header contest. Here are all the rules and requirements.

Rules
Please read over these to make sure your header will fit our requirements.

01. Header must be at least 850px wide (it may be wider).
02. It must be 350px in height or less.
03. Per request, we ask that headers NOT include animation.
04. It must incorporate the community name (lion_lamb) somehow.
05. TWO submissions per person.

Everglow is a great resource for HQ pictures.

The deadline is July 28th at 5PM PST. We'll give you plenty of reminders between then and now. Submit all entries in this very post; all comments are screened. Also feel free to leave any questions or comments here. Thanks and we can't wait to see your entries!

We would just like to clear up a few things that we seem to be having issues with lately. So it would be nice if you could all take a few minutes and read this post so that we can avoid problems in the future.

We do not ban people for talking to us. I don't know how people get this into their heads, but we've never banned someone for talking to us (questions, concerns, problems, etc). Some people seem to think we can't take criticism without banning and it's not true. There's no reason to be scared of approaching us; we're really not all that intimidating and uptight as some of you guys seem to think we are. So if you have issues with something, then talk to us. We can't promise we'll do exactly what you want, but we can at least talk about it. But if you're not gonna let us know yourselves, then don't complain about it elsewhere and pretend we're the bad guys.

Rejection notifications are not required or promised. If we reject a post in the queue, we usually leave a reason for doing so. However, this does not always happen. A lot of it depends on how many posts we're getting in the queue, what the content of the post is, etc. If it's simply an issue of tagging incorrectly or changing a few codes around, you'll most likely get a notice. If you don't receive a reason for the rejection - there is no reason to freak out. It's probably better to trust us because we have the better idea of what should be in this comm. We don't reject posts to piss people off.

Our lovely mod winsomewords is stepping down as mod tonight to run off with Gaspard. We've been super lucky to have her as part of the mod team so we are sad to see her go. There are tons of news pieces and articles coming through the queue now that promotion is really starting to pick up for New Moon. We just wanted to clarify how you should properly credit a source.

Credit only the original source. Here’s an example. Say you find an article on a fansite about an interview MTV did with Rob. Don’t credit the fansite, credit MTV with a link back to the original source. Same goes for if it’s an exclusive of another fansite’s. Post where it originally came from, not who reposted it.

We’re not doing this to be nitpicky or to target anyone in particular. We just want to make sure that credit is given where credit is due. We’ve had to reject posts from the webmasters of the original news because it’s already been posted and credited wrongly. Once the first post goes through there’s nothing we can do about it and that’s not fair to the original webmaster

Also, when tagging posts please make sure you use our existing tags. Those are located on the left side of the page. This helps to keep all the posts organized. Posts with no tags or tagged incorrectly will be rejected.

Hello, members! We’ve been noticing a little bit of strange posting habits cropping up lately and we’d just like to go over a few small rules that you should make sure you’re following. We’ve been lax on some of this lately, but we’re going to start be a bit stricter.

• When posting icons, you may only post three previews and they all must feature Edward/Bella in some way. That means don’t use a Nikki or Kellan icon in your preview.


• When posting fanfiction, you must post a summary with your other information. This seems like a common sense thing, but we’ve been seeing a lot of fanfic update posts that have no summary with them. Chapter summaries don’t count, please post a real summary of your story. We’d all appreciate it.


• Please do not submit posts that are not Edward/Bella related to the community. The ONLY exception to this is news related to the movie. We don’t accept graphics/news/icons for the other Twilight actors.


• Do NOT delete your post that you made earlier in the day and then re-post it just because you’ve added a few icons or graphics. It’s confusing and headache-inducing to go back and make sure it isn’t already there.


• Tag your posts. We don’t have time.


• Don’t be rude to the mods if your post is rejected. If you think a legitimate mistake has been made, then let us know obviously, but don’t be rude about it.


• Just in general, if we tell you to cut something out in a post, then cut it out and don’t respond with sarcasm. We’re not trying to be mean, really. We want you to have fun. We also want things to stay on topic if at all possible and not go into bad territory.

Also, just a heads up, we have a really BIG surprise announcement that we’ll be posting within the next day! Keep an eye out! We are SO excited to share this with you guys and we hope you will all have a great time with what’s about to happen. :-D

A few members have been having issues with images hosted on shareapic. Because of this, and to be fair to all members, we ask that from this point on you please refrain from posting images hosted on that site. Posts with images on shareapic will be rejected and you will be asked to reupload elsewhere.

There are plenty of other sites that are free to use, such as:

Imageshack - Thumbnails, resize options
Photobucket - Requires registration
Tinypic - Best/easiest to use for most pictures
Your personal LJ scrapbook - Large file sizes, Thumbnails

With the arrival of filming and the fact that the comm has gotten even bigger over the past couple of months, we've decided we need some more help with the comm. We encourage everyone interested to fill out the application -- regardless of time zone or anything similar. Please, don't be shy because we need reliable people.

You should have time to commit to the community! - Yes, it might be fun to mod and it may be nice to have your username listed in the userinfo as a moderator, but it's also a lot of work. Though we get a lot of posts through the queue for rejection/approval, it doesn't end there -- you have to keep up with the Page-a-Mod post, affiliates post, respond to PMs from the members, make sure no post is getting out of hand, etc. So, please, if you can't commit the time and are going to slack off, don't apply.

Be active in the community! - You don't have to be around for every discussion or post every other day, but your presence is appreciated.

Some of you may have been made aware of this issue already, but as we've received messages about it, we decided to make a post to just explain everything.

Someone is going around LJ hacking the persoanl accounts of mods of large LJ communities. Once they hack the account, they delete all community and personal journal content and then post to the community announcing its 'closure'.


If you see the above post in our community at any time, please do not click the links - it will not take you to any 'new community'. Please immediately PM or email us and flag the post so LJ is made aware.
