Twilight: The Original Score Preview
According to Amazon.com, the original score for Twilight will be available November 25. And you can preview the songs, too!

I personally love listening to the scores for movies. They are seemed to be more thrilling and more intimate than some of the songs on soundtracks by more mainstream artists. My favorite (so far) is 'The Lion Fell In Love With The Lamb'. It's captures that moment in the meadow so well.

Boo to that. It'll be out soon enough. You can buy the MP3 album on 11/25. The CD comes out 12/15, however. Weird.

Now THIS is what i'm looking foward to. I'm super excited for the score, I hope the instrumental pieces are really gonna tell the story in a very haunting yet romantic way <3

I think the Lion and Lamb one does. There's one on there that reminds me of elevator music. Not sure why... lol.

Don't shoot me, but I'm a little unimpressed. I think a lot of the tracks sound exactly the same. Maybe when I hear it along with the film, I'll like it better.

Yeah same. Well, maybe not unimpressed... but it's not really what I expected. The electric guitar in some of the songs is throwing me off.

I love the previews so much, hearing the lullaby weaved through most of them makes me giddy. The last one was a more melancholy version of it, I loved it!

I am curious what it will sound like all together since scores normally have the songs blend together a bit. A lot of the middle tracks sound similar though.

I noticed this... I think it's an interesting way to fill up the space. Keeping this main theme woven through it all ties it together.
The names are not very creative, however. But, it works.

Just listened!

This is very cool. I like how some of the songs take aspects from Bella's Lullaby...like an instrument, such as the guitar or oboe or strings, is the main focal point of a piece. I also like how Burwell used Bella's tune as the base for a lot of the pieces. It gives a sense of flow on and joins the different scenes. Also, interesting use of drums. I like it!

idk, i can't stand the lullaby itself. i think it's too simple and it's not sweet enough.
but when i hear it played in different keys and different octaves like in some of those songs, i kind of like it.
i like the score much better than i like the soundtrack though.
i'll buy this, yeah.

Me too! I don't know why. I think its because of how the score is specifically made for the movie, while the soundtrack has some previously written songs and stuff.

And sometimes, instrumental is just the way to go. Voices can ruin the moment haha.

I have a hard time judging the score just from the previews. The instruments are a bit weird. It seems like a mix of a lot of different composer styles. There's some Michael Nyman, the standard creepy score, 80s movie score, Andrew Lloyd Webber, some Hans Zimmer, Philip Glass and then even the poundy drums of the Battlestar Galactica soundtracks. I'm not sure how this will go together in the full version. In the short versions I only really like Stuck Here Like Mom and In the Place of Someone You Love and the slow-mo version of the Lullaby (Edward at Her Bed).


However, the cover is MAJOR FAIL. I brightened it a bit just so everyone can see the fail better:



Can you imagine that someone got paid for this?

"Stuck Here Like Mom" is SO sad. Can't wait to hear the whole piece.

The lullaby is truly the love theme of this movie (it's in like 4 or 5 tracks lol) and i'm glad we get to hear it in different versions/tones throughout the score.

Overall it sounds like a great score and I cannot wait to listen to the whole thing <3
