AboutWhat is Lilymud?
Lilymud is the name of the Lion King Fanart Message Board, though there are many discussions outside of The Lion King that take place. The message board can be found here: http://lilymud.net/
What is Lilymud_Snark?
The word snark can be described as a combination between the words 'snide' and 'remark.' Snark basically means the use of sarcasm, wit, cruel humor, and malice in response to an irritating or aggravating stimulus. The Urban Dictionary's definition of snark.
This community is dedicated to all Lilymud based snark.
All forms of snark. Whether it's something small like someone's indecent signature or something huge like a full-blown drama war. Feel free to post it. You may either link straight to the post, quote it directly, or just drop a few hints. Screenshots are also very welcome, especially when posts are subject to being edited (which is against Lilymud rules, but many people seem to 'forget' that).
Rules
1) You must be a member of Lilymud to join.
This community's membership is moderated. If you are a member of Lilymud, you will be accepted. There are no exceptions. If the moderators here can find no evidence in your profile or in your journal itself that you're a Lilymud member, you MAY be turned away. If you have been turned away and you haven't received an email, then feel free to email![[info]](http://l-stat.livejournal.com/img/userinfo.gif)
talawolf asking why. I'll be happy to explain and sort out any misunderstandings. Even if none of us here personally like you, you will still be accepted. We are not an elite, exclusive group. You are free to join this community at will and you don't even have to participate in any of the discussion that takes place here.
2) All posts must be friends only.
This is done mostly to keep away trolls and so that posts within the community cannot be directly linked to other communities and journals. It is NOT because we enjoy talking behind other people's backs. Because anyone from Lilymud is free to join here and look in on what is being said. Livejournal is free, it's easy to get your own Livejournal and join this community. Another reason why these posts are members only is going to be explained in the next rule.
3) What snarks here, stays here.
Posts here are members only because we don't want to bring the snark to other areas of the internet outside of here. Snarking stays OFF of Lilymud itself. Snarking outside of Lilymud_snark can be considered trolling and we don't want that. Use this community for the snark. That's what it's here for. I'm very lenient on what is accepted and what isn't, and odds are if you feel the need to post it - it's accepted. Links to incidents on TLKFAA are generally accepted, especially if they reflect something Lilymud related. This community is here to your advantage if you want to use it. I will not deny you that right. Be sure to read the reminder posted below so you can keep this rule in mind before joining and posting here.
4) Posts MAY NOT be deleted.
No matter what the circumstances. Whether they're not worth snarking or a flamewar erupts, post are not allowed to be deleted. If they are deleted, the .html file will just be posted again. Post deletions will result in a STRIKE. Three strikes and you will be banned from the community.
Other than those four rules, have at it.
Discussion is VERY welcome here. In fact, it's awesome. We're not all about whining and bashing all the time. Plenty of intelligent discussion takes place here, so feel free to start something or join in.

Before you venture on with the snarking, I'd like to remind you all of a few things.lilymud_snark was set up as a way to rant, rave, bash, vent, and snark to Lilymud members within the confines of the community itself. However, I'd like to point out that even though Lilymud and lilymud_snark go hand in hand, they're still seperate entities. Because of some incidents in the past - much to the Lilymud moderators' dismay - I want to point out that as human beings we still need to show respect for the rest of the Lilymud members. We are all Lilymudders, regardless of whether you've been on the forum for 4+ years and others have only been there for a few months. We are all one community. And if you've been a member of Lilymud for a longer time than some, it's your duty to be a mature, respectful member of the community. For the sake of the moderators and the sake of the other members.
In conclusion, I ask all of uslilymud_snarkers to have fun, BUT keep the snarking within this Livejournal community. In this community, we can laugh, mock, bitch, and wank at will - but don't carry it out on to Lilymud or any other place that will give Lilymud and its members a bad reputation. We're all here for many purposes, but getting involved when you previously were not isn't the purpose of this community. So, I'd like to remind you all to have fun - but behave while you're at it.
