One-shot time! :D

Title: Allergy (okay, so less the title and more the prompt.)
Genre: Humour/Suspense ... except we know what happens eventually, so the suspense is slightly less.
Rating: PG for slight crankiness. James is never quite calm in my fics, heh.
Summary: Here was the compromise: James gets a cat, Lily moves in. Easy, right? Too bad James is allergic... and too bad the cat seems almost to be exacting some sort of revenge.

I know I've been gone for just about forever, but now I'm back and making the effort to finish up Butterfly Season (not that it's anywhere near done), and post a couple other one shots that I'd written. Anyway, here is the newest chapter of Butterfly Seasons, Chapter Nine: Difficult Discussions.

Comments: Hmmm well, ok, this is my first attempt at James/Lily, and my first PROPER attempt at the Marauder era! This was inspired by a piece of music titled "Prelude" by Yanni. Thus, the title is not of my own imagination. If you haven't heard it, I suggest you listen to it.

I'm not really the type of person who writes prologues, but this was written in such a different style to the rest of the story that I had to isolate it. So yeah. I know it's not much, but this is where it all starts.

Hi, I was hoping someone could find a fanfic for me I've been searching for weeks now. It was on fanfiction.net and it started in the great hall with Lily embarrasing herself in front of everyone and it ended with Lily and James in a broom closet where Lily ended up getting some mysterious "goo" on her foot that made her say the opposite of what she meant. The whole thing was only about 3 chapters long i think. If anyone could find it for me I'll love them forever xx

Summary:  (A long fic involving a crazy bet, sexual tension, catfights, ridiculous situations, and a lint roller.  And quite a fair bit in between.)  (Basically, the eldest boys of Gryffindor House make a bet - to see which go the longest without engaging in any sort of sexual activity - which encompasses everything from touching to kissing to various other practices...  As you can imagine, hilarity ensues.)

Why You Might Not Care: Aside from the fact that this is quite a long fic (and still growing), there's basically only one reason why you might not care (...and it's a pretty big one).  The thing is, it's listed as a Sirius/OC fic.  Now, personally, I typically cannot stand Sirius/OC (really, I strongly dislike it); however, in Match, there's definitely enough James/Lily (as well as a few other pairings) to satisfy me and other J/L fans.  So even if you really hate Sirius/OC, I still encourage you to at least check out Match - I really think that you won't be disappointed.  Also, there are a few other little things that may annoy you about this fic; for example, there's some definite OOC-ness  and some rather annoying plot devices.  But those all pale in comparison to . . .

Why You Should Care: Match is most definitely one of my favorite fics . . . ever.  It may just be personal preference, but loads of other people love it as well.  I have to say that if you're looking for a heavily-romantic read, you won't find it here; there's plenty of romance, but the best part of Match is the humor.  Which abounds.  Plentifully.  I swear I must have laughed hysterically at least five times each chapter.  The ridiculous and laughable situations into which these characters get themselves are so absurd that you can almost picture them actually happening.  This fic is fairly heavy on the OC's . . . but do not fear!  Match is truly 'a diamond in the rough' in the sense that the OC's are actually believable and they add a lot to the story.  The main character (Ze) is actually an OC, but her fresh voice and interactions with the secondary characters make her hard not to love.  The character of Dorcas in this fic is particularly awesome, IMO.  I was actually reluctant to start reading Match at first, because of the Sirius/OC and just the general idea of OC's and such.  The beginning is all right, but it gets infinitely better by the second chapter or so.  The author is a genius and I salute her wholeheartedly.

I saw a really good James colorbar a few months ago, and I thought I had saved it. Typically, I didn't. Does anyone know of any good James colorbars floating around out there? Or just James graphics in general?

I suppose this is the best place for such a request - hello by the way, this is the first time I've posted.

Most of you have probably read Crossroads from Emmyjean? If you haven't, I strongely recommend so, one of the best fics out there. Some of you probably knows that the author kind of "renovated" - sorry english is not my native language - the story, deleting the first version and making it therefore inavailable on the internet. I don't regret her rewriting the story, as the new version was very much improved and more intriguing... and much more interesting in a certain way. But there are certain scenes in the old version, heavy scenes of affection and kissing if you see what i mean ;)... that i'd love to go back to. And as much as I love crossroads "2", it didn't stop me from loving the first version on its own.

Anyway, I had printed the first version, saved it on my computer... but recently i tried looking for it and can't seem to find it anywhere. No wonder with my sense of organisation... knew it'd get me in trouble one day :P. Now I'm desperate to read the old version of crossroads (I've read 100 times the second version, trying to somehow reconstitute the first) ... I know some of you have saved it on their computer... If someone could help me, please? Would it be possible to send me the complete first version?

I know that while re-writing crossroads, Emmyjean might have seem a slight unwilling to put her old story on the net, but while searching on her forum, she didn't seem so reticent anymore, in one of her posts where she says she'd try to find a way to make both versions available on the internet - she didn't want 2 versions all around the internet at first worrying it might confuse her readers - but no sign so far? Well, I don't blame her, she must be very busy with school and stuff and stuff... So here I am, with my long request... but please help me, save me? xD... been wandering on the internet, looking web after web, page after page for the story for nearly a week now...

So read it now - here. You won't regret it. The night I discovered it I stayed up till 3.30 a.m. on a Tuesday, and I hadn't even touched my homework. :/

It's certainly made out to a lot more than it is, sometimes, but generally it's one of the most fantastic, well-plotted, witty stories I've read, and it's got wonderful, lively characterisation - even from her OCs, but particularly Lily Evans. And I've laughed out loud reading this thing more than once. (By more than once, I mean a lot.)

And people who have read and have been waiting and waiting and waiting for the next chapter - I didn't notice any entry about it here, and I have seen comments around this community asking what happened to BeeDaily - she's OK!

She updated!! Check out Chapter 16.

It's a pretty mindblowing chapter, plot-wise. Once I pick up the fried remnants of my brain I'm going to go back to waiting very, very eagerly for the next chapter. :D
