I don't know why exactly why I am so fascinated by her. It could be that I was inspired by her free spirit and how down to earth she was at the same time. Some of the things she did might have not fit into the lolita life style but on the other hand she also did things that fit into perfectly. She was a bit of a walking contradiction and that’s what I loved about she did things to please herself only and no one else. She married Jack Pickford another actor at the time. Their marriage was strongly discouraged at the time but they both decided to go on with it anyways. I am sorry to say that their marriage only lasted about 4 years due to the fact that Olive passed away at the age of 25 from accidental poisoning.
She is also a bit of a style icon for me. Don't you just love the bow in her hair?
Several of Olive's films no longer exist but I am glad to say that a few of her works have been posted on youtube.
This is Olives first screen apperance on BEATRICE FAIRFAX. Unfortunantly its only the first part.
Someone was nice enough to post the whole movie of Love's Prisoner one of Olive's movies on YouTube.

She reminds me of Clara Bow, another old time actress!
She looks a lot like Zooey Deschanel.
Yeah its a shame that the second half wasn't on YouTube. I am glad that her movies still exist. At one time it was beleived that only one of her films survived but luckily today that is not the case. They even have a dvd out called the Olive Thomas collection which has the film she is best known for The Flapper and a documentary.
hehe I like her hair too but thats also because my hair will curl similar to like hers if I let it grow long enough.
