"Pipedreams" by Dan Schoening










Dan writes:
"Basically the piece was inspired by my artist friend Tim Kelly. He suggested I do a line up of Mario characters. Instead, I decided to make it more pin up like, and throw in as many characters that I enjoyed from the Mario series into it. The art itself was also a test in a new more fluid style, as I normally have a more angular feel to my work."

There's actually only one character I don't recognize, sadly enough... it's the girl (?) just above Donkey Kong in the purple striped hat.

that's vivian from paper mario: 1000 year door. which i am surprised to see other characters from the mario rpg games here.

Wow...that is awesome. Nice collection of all the mario characters and such. Awesome to see Mallow (sp) and Geno from Super Mario RPG from the SNES :-D. Keep up the good work there man, amazing work.

I'll be selling prints at the Chicago Comic Con, and online as well. I know myself and a lot of other artists sell prints of work they did that has established characters in it. No company has ever had a problem with it. The cost of the print is probably chump change to Nintendo, plus it's kinda like advertising for them! LOL. Anywho, prints are available if anyone's interested, just email me. Cheers and thanks again!
