I wanted to thank you for these, despite the fact I don't think I'll be committing fic in this fandom. I am, though, a multi-fandom writer and stranger things have happened, so thanks...

Great links!

The wikipedia article on Manchester City is slightly negative in tone. City have struggled a long time to become a mediocre Premiership team and City fans are still overjoyed to be in the top half of the table. They also have an amusing recent trend of winning derbies 3-1 or 4-1. Also they are on telly tonight in the FA Cup quarter-final and United aren't! Eee! Do it for Gene, boys!

(apologies for any slight bias that may have crept into that report)

Interesting looking resources. Thanks for putting this together. One thing, though ... in episode one, Gene says, "I'm having hoops" - I can't find that in any of the slang lists. Care to enlighten me if you know?

I don't know if you've found the answer to this yet, but let me enlighten you ;-)

He's referring to tinned spaghetti hoops in tomato sauce. I believe they're called spaghetti-o's in the USA, but I'm not sure what they'd be called in Canada.
