While listening to the Life Aquatic soundtrack (Ping Island - Lightning Strike Rescue Op, to be exact). I decided to see if there was a Life Aquatic community.

Woohoo! By far my favorite movie.

I am waiting for the day when I can get my hands on a REAL pair of the Zissou shoes. As many of you are I am sure.

I'll take a pic with my Life Aquatic shirts and red ski cap when I get a chance.

I'd seen it before but only once. And I really like it. But this time I enjoyed it much more. It was the only Wes' film the I'd seen it only once (besides The Darjeeling Limited) and I use to see his films many times because I really love every single one of them.

Ok first off Life Aquatic definitely one of my all time favs. the scene where Steve and the team finally see the shark and the song is playing. Does anyone know the name of the song? I bought the soundtrack hoping it was on there but it wasnt. If anyone knows the name ill be indebted to you for life. Thanks so much!!

Hey guys, im working on a site dedicated to the wonderful Mr. Wes Anderson and was wondering if any of you guys had good ideas for a name for the site?
Like, I want something clever and hopefully includes something from one of his films.
I have a few ideas myself, but wanted to get other's input first.

I'm not sure if anyone has managed to catch this, but apparently Wes Anderson did an American Express commercial, one of those long ones that they play before a movie.

they made one with M. Night Shamalan (sorry for the spelling), and now Wes has one too!

I really want to see it. My parents caught it but so far I haven't seen it. Apparently it's pretty funny. Anyone see this?

So I was re-watching the movie tonight, and I was just wondering about a line that I haven't been able to figure out.

At the end, when they're looking at the Jaguar Shark, Jane says "You know, in 12 years, he'll be eleven and a half". And Steve says, "That was my favorite age".

What is this referencing? I just don't get it.. it's always bugged me.

I'm writing here to promote my Life Aquatic Costuming Community, team_zissou to you all. It has been slow for a long time, but we're putting in some time and effort to renovate the postings and membership.

If anyone here is interested in making Life Aquatic costuming or TLAcosplay, if you have pictures of yourself in Life Aquatic costumes, or if you'd like inspiration and friendly advice on making your own costumes themed for the wonderful world of TLA, then please come check out our community.

I just bought the new Seu Jorge Life Aquatic Studio Sessions album on iTunes. It's great.

And for those of you who noticed Space Oddity was missing...it's an album exclusive on iTunes, along with the "Team Zissou" song everyone was singing on the DVD extras.

HAHA. Ok, so sometimes, when I get really bored, I go and read some of my old entries. And I stumbled onto this one I wrote after I had rended "The Life Aquatic" and re-watched it for the first time since I saw it in theatres. It makes me smile. And laugh.

"I rented The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou last night to watch again. This movie... I must own. I know a lot of people who thought it was stupid and a bad movie, but that's because they're uncivilized scum who couldn't appreciate a good movie if it fell out of the sky onto their collection of shitty movies and then ate their knee caps.

I love this movie for many reasons:
1. Owen Wilson. (as well as the rest of the all star cast- Bill Murry, Willem Dafoe, Cate Blanchett, Jeff Goldblum, etc etc. Quite frankly one of the best ensamble casts I've seen in a very very long time.)
2. The cinematography is amazing. I'm always impressed by the way they filmed a movie about a documentary like a documentary.
3. The aspects of the movie that are completely and obviously fake. They just make me smile because the whole point of a documentary is to show the reality/truth.
4. The soundtrack. I love it.
5. Intern #1. He rules.
6. The story line in general. Every event in this movie could quite possibly be my "favorite part". Y'know, one of those films you'd watch with me and I'd be going "This is the best part" every five minutes. Except not, because most likely I'd keep my mouth shut for this film.
7. And of course, the costume design. I want a pair of those shoes.

"I'm going to go on an overnight drunk, and in 10 days I'm going to set out to find the shark that ate my friend and destroy it. Anyone who would like to join me is more than welcome."

Seriously, if you guys havn't seen this movie, I highly recommend it. If you see it and don't like it, I suggest you just don't mention it to me, as I don't see how we could possibly be friends after that."

I particularly like the part about the knee caps. Nice touch.

Believe it or not, there were two rival Team Zissous at school today (everyone dressed up for Halloween.)

My team was admittedly a bit less organized than theirs. They had a Seu Jorge and everything...it was a big upset.

Did anybody else Zissou it up for Halloween?

Does anyone know where I might be able to find ringtones from TLA? I think the 6AM dive music would make a great ringer. If anyone could help me out that'd be awesome.
