I was at a conference this past week and turned on the hotel television while I was getting dressed. Much to my horror, an Extreme Makeover show came on. I never watch TV and this was totally unbelievable to me.

I had to watch, though, because they had a librarian on the show! She wanted to be a "hip, hot librarian."

Ack! Maybe she should be more worried about answering the patrons questions so that they want to come back again.

I agree! If that was her before all this, what the hell does she look like after? Cuz she looks damn good to me!

I can't stand Extreme Makeover - it is totally degrading and giving in to the idea of what "beauty is" and how you need plastic surgery and tummy-tucks to get there!

I watched that too, over the summer. I was drawn in by the absolute insanity. Plus my name is Amanda. How could I not?

Bleh. A new hairdo and a slight peel of the skin on her chin and the people will come gushing in the library. Most likely, because she does her job well!

I think I liked the wholesome look better. Although getting rid of the acne (scarring?) was a good idea.

I think she looks darn good now! What's wrong with a little vanity? So she's a librarian. Is she supposed to look frumpy her whole life?

Hey and that whole acne thing....what I would give to be able to afford that treatment. Unless you've been there, you can't understand it fully.
