Obama Takes The Lead in Superdelegates
MSNBC reports that Obama has taken a slight lead in superdelegates, 279 to Hillary Clinton's 276.5 (I'm not sure how one can have half a superdelegate, but whatever).

This is significant because just 2 months ago Hillary had almost a hundred more pledged superdelegates than Obama.

I know Hillary is going to win the West Virginia and Kentucky primaries, but we all know that there's no way for her to catch up to Obama at this point. But Hillary's tenacious - that's one of the things I love about her - so she probably won't give up until June. It can't come soon enough for me. I just want an official nominee, dammit.

Yeah, as far as Kentucky and West Virginia go, someone on the HuffPo made a good point that probably it's in Obama's best interests for Hillary not to drop out just yet - because how embarrassing would it be for him to lose those states to a candidate who's not even still running?

Yeah, I'd love to know where the half superdelegate came from. The half delegate in the pledged count is from Dems Abroad, but the half super? Weird.

I'm with you... I am hoping, hoping, that she leaves the race after KY and OR. They can both declare victory, she can leave on a high note, and the party faithful can enter post-breakup mental health counseling hand-in-hand. ;p

I think they're going to need grief counselors in Denver. I can't remember the last time a primary has been so contentious. 2000 Bush v. McCain got ugly but it wasn't contested for this long.

I think the Guam delegates only got half-votes.

all delegates from Democrats Abroad count for half a delegate at the convention - both super and regular: http://www.sourcewatch.org/index.php?title=Democrats_abroad_2008_presidential_primary_and_superdelegates
