*Waves hello*
Age/Sex/Location? 18/Female/Australia
How did you discover Libba Bray's work? Um, I was pretty much just trying to find something really good to read, and I seen a couple of recommendations for it online, so I thought "Why not?". Once I started the first book, it was extremely hard to stop, and it became instantly my favourite series.
What appeals to you about her writing? Well, what wouldn't? However, for the purpose of thi exercise, i'd have to stay her fantastic characters, they are so real, not perfect or your average day heroes, they are just like everyone else, a little damaged, they have secrets, and they are most certainly not perfect, and who wants plastic Barbie characters all the time anyway... Also of course her wicked sense of humour, so scarily close to mine...
Any other books you'd recommend? Ok, so I could just list all the books I like most, but most of them have already been said, so I'm going to tell you what I have lined up for myself to read, only what I've been hanging out for though, as well as my own recommendations, and if you guys want to give your opinion on the ones Ihaven't read yet, by all means please do. So anyway they are; The Darkest Powers series by Kelley Armstrong, Modern Tale of Faerie series by Holly Black, Women of the Otherworld series by Kelley Armstrong, both of Laura Whitcomb's books, and any Scott Westerfeld books. For books I have actually read and loved, I would say Harry Potter (duh), The Mortal Instruments Series by Cassandra Clare, Anything by Melina Marchetta (for us from Oz), The Time Traveler's Wife by Audrey Niffenegger, and Wicked Lovely by Melissa Marr.
