Who would be interested in getting together for a poker night sometime in the future?

Okay, right now I'm trying to sort out some plans with a friend who has been teaching out of the country for the past couple months, so the propositions I put forward for this weekend are scrubbed.

However. If anyone is interested in catching Sherlock Holmes with me at 6 or 9 PM on December 25th at Rockville Centre, please let me know in advance so we can sort out tickets.

Who has Rock Band instruments for the 360 that's coming to my New Year's Party? Can you bring them? (Not the console, just the instruments)

I mentioned this in the other thread, but nobody responded.

I would like to personally thank everyone who came to the hugemonsterousfulltoburstingsnowedin Holiday Meet this Saturday/Sunday! There was no way I would have anticipated so many furs to gather! In a snowstorm, even!

Over the course of the weekend, I estimate there were approximately 25-30 furs in my apartment at once. Crazy stuff, man! I think only the OMGWTFBBQ topped that this year!

For those who slept over, thank you for not destroying my home.

Was chatting with Merle about things to do during days off this week and we decided to see if anyone else wanted to join in.

1) Christmas Day - Sherlock Holmes - You don't need to be a Jew to join in the tradition of catching a movie and chinese. In this case we were at least chatting about catching the new Sherlock Holmes movie sometime that day, probably locally (Rockville Centre most likely theater). Details still need to be sorted out as we first need to see what our respective folks want us to do with them.

2) Saturday the 27th - Was talking about hanging out after I get home from work (7pmish), grab some udon and watch some anime (most likely more of The Irresponsible Captain Tylor) and futz around on my new wii. Anyone who wishes to join us is welcome.

3) Sunday the 28th - Given that there will be more time, I wanted to throw out catching a movie and just generally hanging out, especially as snow kept me from joining you guys at Draganta's this past weekend. Movies I'm interested in seeing: Holmes, Avatar, Princess & The Frog

I'll sort out movie times and such if I can drum up some interest.

(As per my mood, spent 3 hours shoveling snow yesterday and I'm feeling it now)

It would be best to get to an earlier show, because Snowhusky needs to get back to Connecticut for dinner. Also lots of people are going to be seeing this movie this weekend, but less in the morning. And mornings are cheaper. So here are times that might work:

IMAX shows are preferable, because, well, it's an IMAX show, but they're more of a drive. Depending on how little sleep we all get, that might not be an issue.

So it is time to add the details to the holiday thingermabobs that are about to happen (times may or may not be exact upon actual day):

FOOD
Estimated Time of Feast: 6:00pm
--Bring stuff. Oh please bring stuff. Especially a dish of dinner noms for we may feast upon buffet-style! If you need access to my kitchen because you need to prepare said noms then notify me directly (some of you already have). Kitchen space is limited, so prepare anything at home, if possible. Reheating can always happen.
--Sodas and snacks and other goodies are also welcome to gorge ourselves with before and after the feast!

3rd Annual Grab Bag
Estimated Time of Unwrapping: 9:00pm
--For those who want to participate, please bring with you a wrapped gift with your name on the 'From' portion of the tag. They will all be put in the stash for later that evening.
--All those that give a gift will receive a gift. Gifts will be labeled with playing cards and another set shall be shuffled. Drawing will happen in order of arrival to the party, first in gets first random pick. Whatever matching card you pick that's the present you get (except for yourself, that's just not right). Whatever you get you're stuck with. Thus is the way of Grab Bag.
--For ideas of a Grab Bag gift, keep it relatively inexpensive and generic. Think of something most anyone would enjoy, or something weird and out-there that no one would think of. The choice is up to you. Avoid gifts that require possession of a gaming system, specialty-subject books, porn, etc. And don't spend a lot on it, either. $10 average is a good amount, in my opinion. Expel all your money on gifts for specific friends, ya know?
--Also, any other giftings will happen at this time. (For my close friends, my birthday, and any other gifts people wish to give on this day.)

2nd Annual Gingerbread House Building Contest
Estimated Time of Construction: 5:00pm
Estimated Time of Judging: 8:00pm
--Those who wish to participate in the Gingerbread House Contest will sign-up at the table upon arrival (those who wish to judge instead will also sign-up here). This year I have 3 pre-made gingerbread kits ready to go. So, depending on the amount upon sign-up, there will be 2 or 3 teams this year.
--Once it's time to build, teams will be randomly created with the entrants. They will pick a section of the apartment to set up at and get to work.

--Specific Rules for Construction:
----You may create whatever you wish with the supplies provided, so long as it's a house of some sort.
----You may use any supplies found around the apartment, so long as I approve of its use (I'd like SOME food left in the house to eat). You may bring and use any outside food supplies you wish, as well. However, consideration must be made for sharing said supplies with the other teams.
----All portions of your creation have to be edible, and cannot be gross (i.e. pickles and candy don't go together).
----Secrecy is very limited in the apartment, so as long as you clean up afterwards, you may build in any location around the apartment (except the bathroom. That's just gross.)

--At (estimated time) 8:00pm, myself and 2 or 4 other judges will observe and grade your creations. The winning team shall receive a nice prize this time. I promise. No one liked my the 100 bucks prize last year. ;..;

BIRTHDAY
--Yes, it's my birthday come that Monday (21st). Gifts will be accepted, but not required. It's up to you if you think I'm worthy.


With the amount of feedback I'm getting this may be a big event, so be prepared to get cozy with your fellow furs. :p

Well, it's only 2 days before the concert begins, and I'm at a small plight on hand..I STILL HAVE UNCLAIMED TICKETS TO GIVE OUT.

Nobody ended up being interested enough to join up for the full price of $80 per ticket, so..you win. I'll be giving out the remaining 3 tickets to anyone who wants to come along with whatever you want to pay. Is better than the tickets going to waste entirely at least. >.> As it's only 2 days before the concert, it's best if interested folks contact me between NAOW, and ASAP.

Here are the details:

--Getting to my apartment, look up the address at the end of this post in your favorite search engine or GPS. Once you arrive at the entrance to Hillcrest Village, follow the signs to the "Rental Office". My apartment is on the right before you get to the actual Rental building, right across from the pool. Parking is up for grabs for everyone, including guests, so find a nice spot. Since I'm not too familiar with the area still, find the closest station to Holbrook. So if you're coming by train then make sure you have ride from there, or contact me for a pick-up.

--I pride myself in collecting some valuable items (especially my Christmas decorations), so no roughhousing in the apartment, please. Also, please lets try and not be too much like animals and keep things clean, okie? This includes reducing trash and stray food. Also, no alcohol or drugs allowed. Sorry, but I'm responsible for all of you, and we don't need to alter our minds to have a good time. Just be respectful that I would like to keep things in order and we won't have a problem.
----Also, be reminded that since I'm in an apartment complex, noise level needs to be reasonable, and 'Quiet Time' starts at 11PM.

--As for the food thing, it's Pot Luck. Everyone is encouraged to bring some form of dish or side or snack so we may feast upon later in the evening. I'll think up something, as well. Mayhaps pasta again. It's always a safe bet. And I'll make sure to serve buffet-style this time around to avoid chaos. >..>
----Snacks and sodas and other drinks will be provided, but more is always welcome.

--I do have access to the complex's facilities, if we wish to something different:

December 19th I'll be home from college. Hooray! And though I'm sure I'll see some of your crazy muzzles at wings and other random hangouts, I wanna jump the gun and have another movie meet soon! Last time was a Ren & Stimpy meet, the time before was Rocky Horror. I'm now taking suggestions for another fun tv serious/movie we could all watch. Cult classics are welcome! Right now, the only thing that comes to mind is A Clockwork Orange. Yes, droogs, we shall smot upon the glowing television, displaying wonderful red krovvy. If y'all haven't even SEEN this movie, then I definitely want you to come along!

I'll be filming a Christmas music video I've been brainstorming for far too long this winter. There will be several short sessions to film, focusing around the first snowfall of the season, probably a day or two after when things become grey and slushy. It will include elements of the macabre, so those uncomfortable with such ideas may not want to be involved.

New Year's at my house again. Woo.

Details are not yet finalized, but it's most likely to be similar to the last two years: get there at normal afternoon meet-start time, stay until sometime after midnight, crash space is available but limited, food is tasty.

Yes indeed! Going to finally be hosting another wonderful furmeet at mah place finally. as for the date I'm shooting for will be the 12th of December. The whole shindig should begin at about 3PM or so and last till whenever, and in the morning we can all shuffle off to the diner for a breakfast! However there are some rules to adhere to fella's and ladies!

As for when the party starts, it would be best if no one make any loud noises on the first floor till about 5 PM or so, But I will have stuff outside in the garage, and also in the basement, and a firepit outside, maybeh two if jake can bring his own, haha. As for the reason why there should be a lack of noise, is because of my year old niece upstairs, she needs her naps :P

Furry stuff is always welcome just be aware of the 2 dogs, they will most probably be outside some of the time. IF stuff gets chewed on I am not responsible ^^;;

This will also be a Drama free zone, Just make sure ya bring your holiday spirit! and maybeh a bit o food or a small donation for the cook :P

As for drinking, it /IS/ an Irish household, and it /IS/ christmas so I will allow it, but only for those who show me proper identification, and if you do drink, you bet you are staying for the night and should plan accordingly XD

People can and some may have to stay over, though I am lacking in space so make sure ya bring air mattresses, sleeping bags and so to make space.

Also there will be me cooking at this one, no ordering out for food, I plan to make everything from the appetizers to the entree's, but if someone wants to help me out, by all means please do! My list so far is for appetizers is home made mozzarella sticks, crackers with melted cheese, and a delicious crab dip! Entree would be a pasta of some sort wuith three sauces, a vodka sauce, alfredo, and perhaps a garlic butter sauce. And two casseroles, zucchini and broccoli Jennifer! As for dessert! A Trifle cake, and fried oreo's :P

EVENTS! Well ofcourse there will be a gingerbread house making contest :P I'll see what I can do about finding kits, should I get 2 or 3 kits? This is an open Furmeet, meaning do whatcha like, socialize, drink, be merry! PErhaps some x-mas movies later in the night! And I will also bring in a card table to play apples to apples, MTG, and whatever card games on it. and finally, if anyone is interested, make sure ya dress warmly and we can go christmas Caroling! and lets not forget the grab bag gifts! Small little things and such.



Just make sure ya tell me if you are coming though, I need a good plan for how much I gotta cook :P And if anything I'll overcook.

i met a furry from the islan dover in east hampton is there anyone out there or near there that is a regular to furmeets that I dyne or mae and cubi host? If so I would really apreciate it if you could give him a lift to some furmeets and will be more then willing to pay to fill your tank up in exchange for going out of your way to pick him up.

For an all too brief time period I will be back on long island to spend time with family and friends. sadly I do not have a venue for a party, or I would host one for y'all for the holidays. Still I look forward to reuniting with many of you, feel free to give me a buzz, I will be down from Dec 18-28. Stay frosty y'all.
