AboutAre you looking for a lesson?
Do you need some fresh ideas?
If so, then you have come to the right place! Lesson_swap is where teachers of all subject matters and age groups can come to for new lessons and teaching activity suggestions!
Teachers (including pre-service teachers) in this community are encouraged to:
* provide suggestions for fun classroom lessons and activities
* add your favorite lessons to the community archives (momories section)
* answer the calls of help from others :)
Please tag all posts with grade level and subject area. If it is a single lesson (or several single lessons) please use the lesson tag, if it is something larger like a unit please use the unit tag.
Tags can be inserted on the Update journal page by using the drop down tags menu (you have to be set as posting to this community to see our tags). If there are tags you would like added please leave them in an e-mail to lesson_swap@yahoo.com. For more information about tags please see http://www.livejournal.com/support/faqbrowse.bml?faqcat=tags . Saved in the community memories there is also an example post that has been tagged for your convenience!

Please cut all lessons longer than 1 paragraph with a descriptive tag
If you are requesting a lesson we would love to help but please be as specific as possible including relevant grade level, subject, and ability level as well as any materials you can/can not use. This will insure that you are recieving the best help possible!
No, we will not do your homework for you, if you are a student in education feel free to join and share with us but do not be disappointed if someone suggests you do your own assignment.
This is a professional community composed of members of all backgrounds, please keep your language courteous and respectable. The moderators will not tolerate any personal attacks or abuse of their members. Therefore, it is your responsibility to contact sensual_blossom, captainjew, or lanie_lou if you feel you are being attacked, participating in a flame war (even if someone else took the first shot) will be grounds for banning.
This is a POSITIVE community! It was established so that teachers of all levels and subjects could share ideas, if you have an idea PLEASE feel free to share, all ideas are welcome.
Your moderators are: lanie_lou (started teaching in 2003, teaches elementary special ed.), sensual_blossom (with over 10 years of experience teaching FACS and a soon to be 1st year English teacher in a high school setting), captainjew (started teaching in 2004, teaches math, in a suburban setting).
