I'm also curious to know what's a good average for the amount of pictures per "chapter" - I'm always second guessing myself if there's too many or too less. =[

The Cooper Legacy

Adding an idea to the last post!

I like the last post about new challenges, it made me think about something similar.

We have done/are busy with the second founder challenge. Maybe it's an idea to add a new challenge to the mix if/when a 3rd founder challenge starts :)

Instead of ONLY choosing a founder everyone has to play with, we could add little challenges to the story for extra points or something. Like: 'Get 20 bouquets of roses dilivered at your house' or 'Get an Alien, Zombie, Werewolf, Plantsim etc etc. (at least one of each) before you reach generation 10' or perhaps an easier one 'Start with a heavy founder and let him/her get to thin/muscle/active (lol I don't know what it's called in English games) before he/she dies'. Something like that. I've seen it happen on another sims-forum a few years ago and it seemed like fun. And it might help us get out of the routine of a legacy
(which bores me a lot sometimes).

Oh and I am back LOL! 8 weeks no internet sucks big time. I noticed I've been kicked out of the founder challenge, that's okay. I understand. :)

Hacks/Mods Question

Most CC works fine in my game, without any problem at all, but whenever I install a hack like Insim, ACR, or any kind of PT replacement my game will crash. I'll be playing all fine and normal and all of a sudden I get an error message that says "Application has crashed. Application will now close." It's extremely frustrating.
So, my question is, am I installing something wrong? Why does everyone else's game work fine with ACR, etc. but mine rejects it? The crashing centers around items like mods/hacks, and custom furniture. Is there anything I can do?

Screen capture quality different for different computers?

So, I recently got a new computer, installed the Sims, copied over all my neighborhoods and whatnot. So I'm taking pictures for my legacy, and I happened to notice that the quality isn't as good as it is on my far inferior laptop. I use ScreenHunter (free), which saves all my pictures as .jpg (png isn't an option). On my laptop, they're clear and crisp and lovely. On my desktop, they're kind of grainy and have the dreaded jpeg artefaction. D:

All the settings on the program are identical, I checked. Any idea what's causing this? I really like ScreenHunter and I'd rather not change...but if I have to, can anyone suggest a program that captures as clear jpegs? I'll do png if I have to, but I sure do enjoy small filesizes.

Thanks in advance!

Legacy spares: yay or nay?

Hai guys. Question for y'all.

When reading a legacy, do you like seeing stuff about the spares, or do you feel that it's useless and just gets in the way? And I don't mean post-moving-out spare-centric updates, I mean while they're still in the legacy home, or at college.

I'm horrible and usually ignore spares completely, but with the Wilders I've been focusing on the spares quite a bit since I chose the heir. This is the first time I've been interested in my spares' lives, but it just occurred to me that it might be boring for people who read my legacy since the spares are going to be dropped from the story eventually, anyway.

Thoughts? Opinions?

Critique My Legacy: The Legassi Legacy / The LOLgacy

Hey there! I'm new to the community, and also to writing legacies and the Sims in general. I'm having a bit of a problem.

See, I write a Legacy and a LOLgacy (a legacy for my cats, posted separately), which I am able to update pretty much once a week. I enjoy it, although it takes me between 4 and 7 hours every single time I update. However, I'm only about 3 generations in, and I find myself up against two things.

1) I don't see how everyone else can make their generations last so long. Due to a miscalculation, I thought my first gen went on a while, until I found out I was nearly on my 3rd generation already. Each generation lasts maybe two updates. My sims do plenty of stuff, sure, but... I just don't find it worth captioning and posting unless I find it funny. Fortunately for me, all kinds of ridiculous things happen in my legacy. However, I'd like some tips on how to pace/space legacies. I don't read other legacies, partially because of my busy schedule, partially because of my slackerness, and mostly because I don't want my muse or my idea of how a legacy should go to be affected by the way other people write their legacies. I realize that must seem hypocritical, since I'm now asking for advice. But bear with me.

2) I love my LOLgacy, but... there is only so many things cats do. I mean, I can only photograph them doing so many actions. Most of the LOLgacy has to come out of my own brain. I was hoping maybe other people have some ideas or suggestions on where to take the LOLgacy.

Any other criticism (of the constructive nature) is super-welcome.

The LeGassi Legacy: All of It (or you could just click on my username?

edit: as a side note, how many people have the fear that they will lose their spark and their legacy will become boring? I had a dream about it last night. Do you ever worry you'll lose your touch?

I usually make my own little city, stick like one family in there, and let things go from there, but now that I've started playing the given towns, I'd like to refresh my whole game, as in, do whatever that cleans out any "new/custom" city I've made (Yes, I realize there's a delete button), and makes the default towns go back to their original presentation.

In MY Pleasantville, Don's married and banged Goth-Girl, that other goth girl is smutting up on her sister's boyfriend, and well, things are just crazy-hecic. I've deleted Strangetown (never used to play it that much, but now I want to, just to catch a glimpse of Bella), and Riverblossom's gone as well.

Do you gurus know how this can be done without messing with 1) the game itself (though obviously with the exception of what I'm asking) 2) my computer and 3)my shitload of custom content? I'm scared of messing shit up, so if you're not totally sure or are second guessing yourself, please TELL me!

EDITED: Wow, wait, was that just a major blonde moment? Do I need to just reinstall kind of thing to do this, but save my CC to another (safe) folder somewhere?

You're going to hate me, but if I do, could anyone just walk my through it ever so briefly? I'm the worst at the simplest of things, I swear.
