Having or giving someone else a nickname related to Hannibal

My friends gave me the nickname 'Vannibal' a couple of years ago (combination of my name, Vanessa, and Hannibal/cannibal) after I became totally obsessed with the books/movies ... and it stuck.

(also fava beans aren't as delicious as I had hoped they would be, alas)
How were the fava beans prepared when you had them? I tried them steamed, and they were much too fibrous. I think the beans were a little too 'old' to be very tasty. Wikipedia has a good article on them, but it sounds to me like they must be an acquired taste...
Chianti is practically the only alcohol I drink anymore. *g*

Still need to try Amarone.
I haven't tried Amarone yet, either. Chianti, however, is actually very pleasant for being such a rich, red wine.
Owning a Hannibal fan community somewhere on the internet.

Well, I co-own one, at least. At least I think I do. I was part of [info]lecter_slash's creation, at least :/

As for the soundtrack inquiry -- that was a great one. For some reason, none of the films, aside from Hannibal, music score really stand out. I mean, they work perfectly for the film and all, but not something I'd listen to seperate from it.

Hannibal's, however, oh that one is just awesome. Did they remix/reuse some of the Goldberg Variations for it..? I really don't know, but I just love it. Haunting-soft-creepy-relaxing.
Co-ownership counts! I agree about the movie scores. I honestly don't remember much of the music from SoTL (haven't seen the movie in years) besides 'Goodbye Horses,' of course. Hannibal had an excellent track, though I'm unsure about whether or not they used parts of the Goldberg Variations. Red Dragon had a decent soundtrack for most of the movie, but after awhile the screeching violins got on my nerves.

The only thing that bothers me about the Hannibal soundtrack is that they use Anthony Hopkins' voice in a few of the tracks. I think it should've been strictly music-only, but maybe that's just me. I tried unwinding to the soundtrack several times before bed, but once he started to speak, I'd be fully alert again.
Well, I couldn't answer the first question because I haven't seen "Manhunter" but I'd eventually like to. So.
Oops, forgot to add that option. Guess the first one would've worked, even if you already knew of the movie. Sorry about that. ;P
I am clearly obsessed in every possible:P

I love the soundtrack questions too

Hannibal the film was so underrated, and it bothers me, because I thought it was absolutely visually stunning- it really captured the essence of Hannibal's ideality.
I agree, to me it's the most beautiful of all the Hannibal films - visually and musically. It seems to me the issue people have with the film is that it doesn't remain true to the book.
Ditto; I so agree. The visuals in Florence, and the music which accompanies it... so awesome. I just love the small bit with Patsi throwing the cigarette, and the doves flying away. Something about it is so atmospheric.

Best scene of the film though, for me, is Hannibal's curator scene, in which he gives a speech about hanging. The way the music plays so well into that, and his speech itself... ah, just so much love. Movie takes a nosedive after that, unfortunately. The way he just strolls right into the hospital and steals his tools disturbs me somehow. Not sure if its the way he looks, or the way it was shot.
My problem with the hospital scene is that, to me, he doesn't seem as graceful as he normally does when he's doing something devious and/or murderous.
I'm not too bad...but then again, I'm new. There's plenty of time for me to freeeeeak!
looking at the results made me feel so much better im not the only one completely obsessed. :-D
Heh, not the only one by a long shot! You're in good company.
This was a great poll! Thanks for posting it! ^o^ I've never seen "Manhunter" because I didn't realize it was a Hannibal film (I know, silly right?) until after I'd already seen "Red Dragon" four times. Heh. My husband was all, "DUDE! This is Manhunter!" -- suddenly it clicked!

I'd seen the movie on the shelf at the video store for years, but never bothered to look at the back. I adore Brian Cox, so I'm interested to go back and rent it to see how well he did. ^___^

~~~
I confess I am totally in love with Gaspard Ulliel. O_O
I thought Gaspard did an excellent job playing Hannibal, I was truly pleased with that aspect of the film.
Brian Cox delivered a different style of Lecter than what Anthony Hopkins portrayed. Personally, I couldn't stand the movie, so I have trouble rating how well Cox did.
