A community for those who are studying the Russian language. Founded by

yers and currently maintained by ladybirdsleeps,

oryx_and_crake, and

wolk_off.

ATTENTION! The working language of this community is English. It's okay to post in Russian, but you are expected to provide a comprehensive English translation.

rules

1. Try to stay on-topic. Don't post advertisements for other communities or webpages (unless they're educational resources valuable for for Russian learners). Don't post advertisements of automated translation tools, either Web-based or standalone (at least until they can pass the Turing test.)

2. Abusive posts and comments will be deleted, and their authors banned from the community without warning.

3. Keep potentially offensive language to yourself. If you want to discuss curse words, try to do so in a serious fashion, and put all offensive words behind an lj-cut, with a clear warning. If you don't follow this rule, don't be surprised if your post or comment is deleted. (This FAQ explains how to make an LJ-cut.)

4. The working language of this community is English. Post in English or provide a translation.

5. This community is for non-native learners of Russian. Native Russian speakers are expected to consult the non-native learners. This is not a community for learning English or asking questions concerning English language. If you are looking for a place where you can polish your English, you may try ru_learnenglish instead.
