Image of London, my youngest Great Grandson

    ring, originally uploaded by mikelikestobike.

I went to Kathy's house today. She alway has a Holiday cookout, but I had forgotten and asked Pauline to make a Tuna Steak. So I had an ear of corn and a hot dog before I came home.

London, my youngest Great Grandchild was there. There is much about him that looks like photos of me when I was very young. It makes me think more about how lucky I am to know a few of those that I have (and sad that others are so far from me). I thought this today:

“As a Great Grandparent, I am as a bridge that may, . . .by love and touch, . . . span a period of 250 years from mine to theirs!”, DHL

Tavian and Sam skipping rocks at Powell.

"A Great Grandchild is like telescopic lens through which you are honored with a view of a small portion of a future you will never see in totality.”

    DHL ,

I have some thoughts, . . . . or comments that come to mind more and more often. I think I will post them
    from time to time . . . . . .with or without images, , , , I am not sure

An Apple in the road at the bottom of my street

It's been a while since I've posted on LJ. Especially posted anything other than a youtube video or just the random photo from my flickr. I post fairly regularly to flickr, but it's mostly the same format of beer pictures that go to my sundaybeer.blogspot.com blog (which I have faithfully updated weekly for over a year and a half now (more or less).

Anyway, I saw this bright, mushed apple that fell from a tree close to the road sitting in a muddy puddle at the bottom of my hill and it reminded me how lucky I am to be able to see the light, to see days and nights of mundane dailyness , and to note that it makes me happy to be alive.

Fall is whispering it's arriving, and the tomatoes have come in in my garden, we're eating BLT's and tomato salads, and the butternut squash are growing thick in the front yard waiting for us to begin the fall proper.

    Biden
Isn't this great, Joe Biden foe Veep! This guy tried for years to become President, but he is even more unappealing than Hillary. Biden is a business lackey. Sure, let's have the US Govt. protect the Billionaire record companies by prosecuting your Grandchildren for downloading a Copywritten song or ringtone. And how about an even bigger Govt./ FBI power grab of more of our freedoms etc, etc. Now what?

So our choice is McBush or Obama/$Biden$! The founding deist, farmer founders never could have imagined what we have become. I feel sad for my descendants.

So who do I vote for (as if it mattered in Rhode Island). Give "Really Big Business" a free reign for 8 more years or give "Really Big Government" a chance to enrich their friends among the biggest contributors? Hmmm, great choice!

Mr. Obama, I am so disappointed in you! And you graduate Magna Cum Laude?

I am going to have to study each candidate's vision. After all, "In the land of the blind, the one eyed man is king"!
