Masquerade pictures 2007- midsummer night's dream.

these pictures are from the Vampire: The Masquerade LARP I belong too. Taken at a dance studio we were able to rent out.

Most of the masks and costumes were handmade- mine is the peacock. My husband is the skull faced fairy hunter. I actually made the unicorn skull that is on the stick, many of the masks at the ball and my own dress, mask and fan  as well as my husband's cloak and mask.

I hope you enjoy some of these are really well done.

That is so amazing! I have wanted to make a peacock/peahen costume for many years, but I've never really sat down and hammered out the details of the tail, your's is awesome.

it's a fabric backing, hot glue and ebay. get the short feathers, the long ones get to be too much. tack down the end feathers with thread tho- I lost some from people stepping and dragging.

the top of the tail is irridecent green-painted rose petals. you can get the green paint at fabric stores, but the petals looked better on that size than the actual green body feathers did.

total # of feathers was over 200.

I can find you the ebay seller I got the cheap feathers from for $20 for 100 feathers.

There's a really nice faerie feel to it, some sort of pagan madness I can't really put my finger on. Good stuff!
