AboutThis community is for people who have, or are interested in the type of weight loss surgery known as the laparoscopic adjustable gastric band (lapband). The band has recently been in the media alot more, and two of it's most notable users are Sharon Osbourne and Ann Wilson (from the band Heart).
The Bio Enterics (Inamed) band was approved by the FDA for use in the United states on June 5th 2001, but it has been used overseas for many years in places like Europe and Australia, and before the FDA approved it's use, alot of Americans went to Mexico and France to have it placed by world reknowned surgeons.
