Any tips for finding a place to live while attending Lanagara?

I've been searching on Craig's list ..is there any other websites, bullitin boards, or places I should check?

Do I need to be in Vancouver to find a place, or can I find one in advance of moving?

Thanks,
Ander

Online payment just got declined...I'm actually out of the country right now, so I asked one of my parents to try and pay it for me at the 'Students Account Office'...god I hope this works.

Also, I'm taking Spanish 1115 this year, without any prior background in Spanish. Any advice?

hey everyone,

i just have a quick question regarding student loans..

ive been approved for an alberta/canada student loan.. but i have to get someone at langara to sign the papers before i can send it in and get my money.. problem is.. im living in calgary until the end of the month. soo how does this work? do i HAVE to do it in person? it says on the website my tuition should automatically be deferred.. but does this apply to alberta loans as well? ohh its so confusing.. if anyone could fill me in on how to go about getting this money in the easiest way possible it would be greatly appreciated..

thanks!

Textbook buy backs

Jul. 17th, 2006 | 03:30 pm
posted by: [info]sticckler in [info]langara

Has anyone here done the textbook buyback from either the Langara bookstore or the student union? And do you have an opinion as to which is better? The bookstore says it buys back at 50% of current price, does the SUB pay any more? All I can find on the student union site is that they offer "the best prices on campus!" I've got a bunch of books I want to sell back from last year and I don't want to have to wait in a huge lineup just to not get the most money back. I'd rather wait in the huge lineup and get a good price for them. Thanks in advance for any info.

registration confusion

posted by: [info]tracesofsilver in [info]langara

hi again,

so i'm enrolled in the publishing program starting in september, and i registered for my courses today. it worked, but the only thing is, there are more than one of the same lecture and lab (sometimes 3 or 4 different ones) and i'm not sure how to know which one i'm in. do they choose for you? or do you choose later? or do you have to take more than one of the same? (it would make sense for labs, but not so much for lectures.) it seems strange, at york (where i did my undergrad) you just enrolled directly for the day and time of the course as well as the course.

any help would be much appreciated! :)

hi all,

i applied to the publishing program at langara for next year, and i haven't heard back yet. i know it's early, but i wondered if anyone was/is in the program and knows how long it usually takes to hear back? if i got accepted i'd be moving from toronto, so i'm a bit antsy. there's a lot of "when--wait no, IF i move to vancouver..." etc. heh.

also, any thoughts or opinions about the program?

financial aid.

does anyone here have any experience with financial aid? i really want to start attending langara again, but totally can't afford it (kind of).

like, i have a college fund for the tuition and stuff, but in order to get that money, i need to be enrolled full time; which means i'd only be able to have a part time job. thus, i wouldn't be able to support myself. would financial aid be able to give me a student loan for just things like rent, living, and books? or is it kind of a tuition-only thing?

thanks in advance for advice!!
