Theme post
Finally I have time to post! I'm moving house this week (oh you shall have pictures, it's a faery jungle!) but in the mean time I'd like to contribute to the theme of this month, because...well, I'm an artist- so it's made for me. :)

Under the cut are my textile-based jewellery (wristcuffs and brooches) and some photography, and one or two assemblages as well. If you like things a little tattered and worn, come on in...

----paper/textiles----

our place in this world

butterfly front

The landed Gentry

Seastorm

over my bones

all these things

The coachman's daughter

The Red Earth

----photography----

open

The universe in a tea-cup

corner fence

Ghosts and regret belong to the night

With every day you're here, another day without you grows near

starfall

sherby

The door to knowledge

Oh wow!
I was just browsing your arts&crafts blog yesterday, but had no idea you were on livejournal.
Needless, to say I like it. A lot. Wonderful things. I do like things that are slightly tattered sometimes, it seams that they have a history.

Ah there you go then- small worlds! My LJ tends to be about ordinary life things, all my art goes into Blogger.

Your icon is making me kick myself for letting that Auryn get away from me on eBay today. >_

I do sell my work, yes. There's a link to my Etsy shop in my userinfo here on LJ. :) Thank you so much for comparing me to Selene, she is a goddess of the rag bin!

Do you know- I listened to your band some time ago, and I loved it, then I lost the link! But now I've found you again, and if it's alright with you, I'm going to add you as a friend. &hearts

If you would ever like to do any collaborative efforts/creative trades, do let me know! I'm keen to start working with others.

Of course! Go for it. We'll do some sort of underground freaky dustbin sexy rags to riches endorsement deal-- I would LOVE to trade with you! I'm looking especially for headwear-- hairpieces, headbands, things i can clip into my fluffy mane to make me look more civilized!

The link is: http://www.myspace.com/mousemusique and that is such a flattering compliment :) thank you so much! if you're really into the idea of collabs/trades, i'd be more than willing to start talking about stuff. that would be a treat!

Headpieces you say? That's a funny thing, as I've recently been thinking of ways to combine my raggedy look with my old faerycraft products, which is crowns, masks and headwear, all with a distinct brownie, woodsy Labyrinth style.

Perhaps tomorrow I shall list a few crowns/tiaras I have laying around here. I need to sell them sooner or later anyway!

Really! Wonderful! I'm always so happy when people say my work is what they're looking for- I think it's very hard to define what exactly it is, and therefore makes it really hard to find! I think I'll call it Faginpunk, like Fagin and steampunk mixed together. :D

Thank you! Yes, it is a wrist brooch I suppose, I call it a wristcuff but it's sort of both, with a bit of corsage action thrown in. There's a link to my Etsy site on my userinfo if you want to learn about it. :)

Well, just between you and me, I do have the odd moment of Awesome Realisation. But the Muse puts in just as much effort as I do!

I love all of your creations here - they all have a certain other-worldly quality, but from ordinary things. I just adore them!

I added you on flickr the other day, hope that is okay - I'd love to keep up with your photos. I was wondering if I might add you here - I had a sneaky peak at your journal just now and it seems very interesting to me...

"a certain other-worldly quality, but from ordinary things"

Oh-! That is the most wonderful thing to say..! That's one of the things I try to do, is make magic from the unwanted and everyday.

I don't mind you adding me on Flickr at all, pleasure to have the company. You may of course add my LJ if you like, it's about to become full of ramblings about gardens and art and backyard permacultures. :)

Whenever I get around to attempting to do any creative stuff, that is what I am for as well - and it makes me so happy to see it in other people's art too - like finding a kindred spirit!

I look forward to getting to know you and hearing about gardens and art!
