DARK Knight is true to its title
I ended up blinking like an owl just coming out of the movie theater because we were basically in darkness for almost the entire movie.

Peter and I went to a showing on Friday and enjoyed most of what we saw. Ledger's Joker really does take it up to another level (think Killing Joke kind of madness). It was nothing like Nicholson other than that Nicholson took the Joker to a whole new place that had everyone talking about as has Ledger. It would have been interesting to see what they would have done with the Joker in the next film.

I am hoping for rain today. It sure looks like it and feels like it. Maybe if I watered the lawn, it will start.

Off to take care of some stuff that needs to be taken care of.

I am grateful for few pieces of junk mail.

How marvelous. My friends list has exploded with femslash. A lot of it is fandoms I don't follow, but still, I am wallowing in stories right about now. Love it.

Obviously didn't get my story finished in time. S'ok. I hate feeling rushed, but I'm glad I did get my ass in gear to start working on it again. Plus this way it won't get lost in the IDF shuffle.

I was annoyed today when we blew a fuse/overloaded the electrical circuit twice in 10 minutes while I was in the middle of a conference chat about the WMC Virtual Season 2. Grr. Argh. At least my story, which was open at the time, was recovered.

Gonna go see what's waiting for me in the 160 posts that have gone up since 2 PM yesterday. ;)

Oh, and hippie birdies to [info]halfbloodme!

Another quick update
Let it be known I am obsessed with Mamma Mia and really not going to fight it. I LOVE the movie! Mix ABBA with a ton of celebrities I like? Win and double win. Predisposition to musicals is not helping :-P

I saw it with Mum on Wednesday while I was visiting - then I saw it with Maz and Glen again yesterday - and there are already plans to see it again with Maz and a fourth time with Nicole. Is there anyone else that wants to go? I'm more than happy to come keep you company for it!

I've been checking out clips and have found a couple downloads for it but I haven't decided yet if I'll grab it or not -- part of me wants to wait for this on DVD but the other part is screaming MORE NOW!

Yesterday was great even if rushed and strange with Connex (then again, it's Connex) feel bad not going to Kristy's drinks thing but in the end it would have knocked me right out, and as my stomach had issues with lunch (nothing to do with the food, all to do with my stomach) was probably for the best anyhow.

Today has been very quiet - I had planned to go to the store for a few things but realized that I CAN'T make some of what I want until I buy a pot first. So I decided I'd just make up pasta sauce tonight - will make up a batch of mashed potato possibly tomorrow, and will be making soup as soon as I have everything I need. What have I done other than sat around online so far? Cleaned the girls cage and vacuumed the house, unpacked, and did the laundry. Going to cook very shortly.

Oh and here's a bad way to wake up - Cocoa woke me when he decided to wander and sit next to my TV/dvd in my room - so mostly asleep I scooped him up to get him off there and back into bed... only to catch his claw in my mouth - I now have a 1" or longer scratch straight across my top lip. It's making it quite hard to eat and it keeps tingling :-P might drop by the drug store tomorrow and see if they can recommend something - can't exactly put antiseptic cream on it given it's just about in my mouth.

Right I really do need to cook before I start snacking and forgo dinner entirely.

I had a dream last night that was a cross between Bones, Gossip Girl, Kathy Reich's second novel (Death du jour), Grey's Anatomy and like... Transylvania/dark ages England.

I know, right?

It was pretty awesome. Emily Deschanel was there and I think David might have been but it was probably Dan Humphrey still. And there was a gay funfair by the water. Totally cool.

Batman: The Dark Knight Spoiler-Free Review
IT ROCKS. EVERYONE MUST SEE IT. I've seen it twice so far. . . will see it again next week, many times, methinks. The plot is good (the ending could've been better though) & it's well-written; but the characters are the truly awesome part, especially Batman & Joker. It's a very character-driven movie. The way those two play off of each other is beautiful.

Heath Ledger was amazing. He was so talented. So, so talented. *cries*

I want to do naughty things to Batman. Christian Bale doesn't turn me on, I don't really like him all that much, he's a great actor, with a great body, & he's attractive, but I'm not really into him. But as Batman, he is perfection. He IS Batman. Mmmm. . . I love that sexy Batman growl he does. *drools* And his whole mouth just looks sexy when he's got the mask on. I just want to lick him all over. :P

Gary Oldman, Aaron Eckhart, Michael Caine, Morgan Freeman were all awesome as well.

I thought Maggie Gyllenhaal was kinda fugly in a lot of her scenes. Jake got all the pretty genes, I guess.

The first time I went with friends from work & I took Mom with me the second time. She bought me ice cream afterwards. It was lovely. :) It was the first time Mom's been to the theater since Men in Black II, whenever that was. . .

GO SEE IT!

I need to see Hellboy 2 next week too. . . I was looking forward to it, but Batman had me distracted.

Lynn

Movies and things
Saw The Dark Knight.

I don't think I can coherently review it, actually. First, go see it. Second, whoa. Third, whoa. Fourth, go see it again.

Ledger was phenomenal, and I think it was [info]winterlive who said she watched it and never once saw Heath Ledger, only the Joker. Absolutely right. He will get an Oscar nom, obviously. If not, it's rigged.

Also saw Dr. Horrible's Singalong Blog

spoilers for Dr. Horrible )

I've also gotten a second role over at BBtL in addition to Gwendolyn Post, a new character named Tessa (not a huge part or anything, but still fun).

Dr. Horrible ACT III is now up at www.drhorrible.com. The ending was sad but not quite unexpected. Overall, quite a depressing look into ourselves and our ideals about justice albeit through a semi-satirical lens. It actually compliments seeing The Dark Knight quite well with its exploration of the roles that heroes and villains play in our society. Except at least there was real heroism in The Dark Knight and (hello this is a spoiler for Dr. Horrible)it didn't die with shards of an exploded death ray embedded into its upper torso.(end of the spoiler)

Did anyone notice that one of the villains in the "Evil League of Evil" looked like Ziggy Stardust? I checked the credits and his villain name was supposed to be "Dead Bowie." That was actually Jed Whedon, by the way.

No other news. Have work to do. Oh woe.
