^o^ Hello, besides the fact that I am fairly new here, I just wanted to ask... Did anyone else find the Lolita Bibles published by Tokyo Pop slightly disappointing? Please I do not mean to sound rude but I just hoped they would have more sewing patterns. Instead I found myself looking at beautifully over priced items that I could only drool over or spend all my money on. Besides, that irritating fact, I enjoyed the bible very much and delighted in the interviews very much.... heheheheh Mana-san...
Anyway, how did the rest of you dears feel about it? I would greatly enjoy knowing.

I've seen shop list for New York and Canberra for store that sell potentially loli/actual loli clothes and accesories. I haven't seen one for Los Angeles. Maybe we should build a list of gothic and lolita stores in our area and maybe cross-post it to egl

Ha ha, here I am posting without even having made a proper introduction. I'll get to that eventually. My name is Anni, and this is (obviously) my first post here, so please don't hurt me.

I was curious if anyone was planning to do anything for International Lolita Day next weekend. I was planning a visit to the Volks store that day anyway, and it occurred to me that maybe some other ladies were already planning some sort of meet-up or outing in honor of the event. It's kind of short-notice to plan something, but if nothing has been thought of all ready, I'm sure it could be arranged if people were interested.

I've been managing a local business there,  and I thought it'd be lovely to have a big meet-up in Solvang (About 2:30 hrs north from L.A.), the Danish Town!  I thought the itinerary could have the following:

Brunch at a local Cafe
Professional photoshoot at one of the gardens
A tour around town on a horse-drawn carriage!!
Visit a bakery... or two!
Visit the Elverhoy or the Andersen museum
Shopping!!! (old-world inspired clothing, shoes and accessories, arts and crafts, doll stores, souvenirs, etc )
Folk Dancing lessons
Dinner
PCPA theater performance at the outdoor Solvang Festival Theater
If applicable, an overnight stay at a story book themed bed and breakfast???
complimentary surprise gifts.
Anything else anybody would like to add?

The event would happen sometime during the summer, likely mid July- Early August. Please comment if interested!

So my buddy found out that "select" theaters in the Los Angeles area will be playing the Death Note live action movies, both Death Note and Death Note: the Last Name.  The film will also be playing behind-the-scenes footage with commentaries and such from the cast and crew. The Howard Hughes says that it would run about three hours long, but we are not sure on pricing as of now. This showing is classed as a "special" showing meaning they could possibley jack the price up a bit, but it could be the same price as a regular ticket, or so she says. XD

 The closest near us, that she found at least for now, is  the Howard Hughes Center at the Bridge cineplex. Of course, we are both intrested in going, so are any of you lovely ladies too?

Would any Los Angeles-area Lolitas be willing to get together for a really casual dinner in the Sawtelle District? My favorite restaurant in that area is Kinchan Ramen, but I'm totally open to suggestions and stuff, and my schedule is extremely flexible.

I'm thinking dinner around...6-ish?

Alrighty.  I think we've been sorta kinda talking on and off about his for... a while now. Conclusion being that Ventura county needs a meetup, lazer tag is awesome, there's Lazerstar in Cam.

Tentative plans:

early May or mid-June?
Lazer Star in Camarillo

Not sure exactly what time...  If I recall correctly there's a couple restaurants in the shopping center, so we'd be set for food.  We could play a couple rounds of lazer tag, and there's other arcade games.

Anyone interested?

EDIT: Just found out the 24th is a no-go. XD
