If you are interested, what kind of things and places would you like to see on the list? I figure gardens, museums, tea houses, performing arts centers... I'd probably leave out places to eat, since there are too many fun places to eat in LA.

An odd request - I'll be attending the Bats and Cats masquerade on this Friday, and I only need one more thing to complete my outfit: A long, white, curly wig. Unfortunately, I couldn't find one anywhere (all the places I went to told me that they sold out because of so many people dressing as Lady Gaga, haha). If anyone has one I could borrow just for the night, I would be so grateful! (I'm trying to be cost effective, since I'll only need it the one time...) Alternatively, if there is a cheap yet reliable costume shop in the downtown/chinatown area that would sell a wig of this description, I would love to be informed as to its location :)

If you've got a wig like this you could lend out for the night, feel free to PM me and perhaps we can set something up.

there will be ROBO-ONE, Sumo Wrestling, Japan Style Fashion Show, Costume Play Show by Akihabara Maids, AWA dancing, traditional dancing, action show, food booths, fashion booths, and more (according to the ad)

admission is $2 but they have $1 off coupons in their ads which can be found in those free japanese publications you find at japanese stores and markets.

i've never heard of this event before. does anyone know if it's new?

I am a fan of lolita spirit!! I would love to be an Horror lolita, gothic lolita or sweet lolita for Halloween but I can't find a dress and accessorises!! I am living in Malibu but can easily go in Los Angeles. If you have any good adress it would be more than awesome!

i just wanted to mention that this weekend is the annual free museum day(s) incase any wanted to plan anything. there aren't as many participating as before, but there are still some good ones that'll let you in for free.

...like the getty center and villa, autry, bowers, moca, and norton simon for example. the california science center is considered one of the more fun ones. the japanese american national museum (janm) in little tokyo has a kokeshi doll exhibit that is ending that weekend. and much more!

some museums do have monthly free days (target is also sponsoring some free museum days) but sometimes there's nothing more convenient than a weekend compared to a busy weekday.

Though not entirely Lolita.... you can probably find a ton of great accessories that can be used for Lolita. The Los Angeles Opera is going to be selling off all of the old costumes used in previous productions.
