Thrill the World, Los Angeles [Oct. 22nd, 2008|08:23 am]

merry_rogue
So I heard about this on Kevin and Bean (on KROQ) this morning.

They're trying to set the world record for most people doing the Thriller dance and they're gathering "zombies" for it.

http://www.myspace.com/ttw08LAzombies

Pretty much the big dance is this Saturday, but they've got practices and rehearsals where they'll teach those who want to participate how to do the Thriller dance.

The guy who put together the L.A. branch of Thrill the World mentioned on the show this morning that after this, on other occasions, he and whatever zombies/undead dancers he can find are going to "guerrilla dance" in various locations--they're just going to randomly flashmob and do Thriller.

Hey everyone!

My name is Alexandra Olteanu, the PR intern at the Canadian fashion label. Since we are conducting extensive in-house research on the best places to shop for edgy clothes, I thought our community is one of the best places to ask about this. Thought you guys would enjoy participating in our project. All you have to do is tell us what are your favorite places to shop in your city and/or around the world!

Looking forward to hear about your likes.

Zombie Walk this Friday? [Oct. 22nd, 2007|09:32 am]
ryanvinson
I saw this reported on a blog, but haven't seen anything else about it. Is no one discussing it? Or is it just a small group of close friends?

Thanks

ATTENTION LOS ANGELES ZOMBIE WALKERS! BE A ZOMBIE ON TV NEXT WEDNESDAY! [Aug. 24th, 2007|10:06 am]

i_mockery
I'm helping organize some Zombies to participate on an episode of CSI: NY that's being shot here in L.A. next Wednesday, August 29th starting at 8pm. Believe it or not, the episode actually revolves around a zombie walk.

The pay would be $60/8hrs and overtime after 8 hours. In addition, you would get a $18 makeup bump over the $60 if you show up already dressed as a zombie rather than requiring them to do your makeup.

This would be a night-time should going on from 8pm on Wednesday until about 6am on Thursday. If you can't be there for all those hours, you won't be able to participate. It's a long night but it's also gonna be a fun one. We'll also be doing photo shoots with the stars of the show which will then be sent out to the press to promote it!

If you can participate, please email me immediately with your name, email, how many other people you're bringing with you (if any) and a valid phone number I can reach you at.

LOS ANGELES ZOMBIE WALK TOMORROW!! [Jun. 14th, 2007|02:49 pm]

i_mockery
Ok here's the official word on the Los Angeles Zombie Walk:

WHAT: Los Angeles zombie Walk to promote Lionsgate's FIDO

WHERE: We will be meeting at the 3rd Street Promenade in Santa Monica at the Broadway and 3rd intersection, in front of the Santa Monica Place Mall.

WHEN: Please meet there at noon. The walk will be from noon to 1 (and most likely ongoing after that as most Zombie Walks tend to go on for longer than an hour)

CONTACT INFO: Emily, the production company representative, will be waiting there for you all to join in the walk! Her cell phone number is 818-331-8188, please feel free to call her with any questions.

Good luck with the walk and please email me if you have any questions. Also, I hope some of you will be able to take pictures of this event. If so, send them to me afterwards and I'll post them up for everybody to see! I'll do my best to be there too, but I already had prior commitments before this Zombie Walk request was sent to me. Either way, I'm glad I could help organize it and there should be a real nice turnout!

Have fun eating Braaaaaiiiiins!

L.A. ZOMBIE WALKERS (update #3) [Jun. 14th, 2007|11:25 am]

i_mockery
To those of you who emailed me to sign up for the FIDO Zombie Walk in Los Angeles this Friday, I have just sent your contact information to the promotional company representative (Emily). You can all expect to hear from her sometime today with information regarding the Zombie Walk.

Furthermore, once an official time/location has been set up for the walk, I'll post it on here and on zombiewalk.com. If you have any other questions though, feel free to ask!

L.A. ZOMBIE WALKERS (update #2) [Jun. 13th, 2007|10:55 pm]

i_mockery
I'm now hearing that the promotional company has a budget to pay 10 people at 50 bux a piece. So the first 10 people who emailed me would be invited. Anybody else after those first 10 signups would be more than welcome to participate in the FIDO Zombie Walk, they just wouldn't get paid. Personally, I've never done zombie walks in the past for the cash, but it's totally understandable that some people want to cover their expenses... especially those who don't live as close by. After all, zombies have families to feed too.

More details and information to come as soon as I receive it.

L.A. ZOMBIE WALKERS (update) [Jun. 13th, 2007|09:22 am]

i_mockery
We've had a really nice response for the Zombie Walk to help promote "FIDO", well over 40 people in fact! That's really cool considering the short notice that was given.

Unfortunately, now the promotional company is telling me they don't have the budget for 40 people... so it's sounding like they're going to cancel the thing. I helped them set up one in New York City and that one is still taking place this Friday, so why they can't do the L.A. one is beyond me. Pretty lame, but what can you do. It's not definite yet as I'm still waiting to hear back from them, but I'll keep you guys posted.

Thanks again to all of you who've expressed interest in participating.

L.A. ZOMBIE WALKERS [Jun. 11th, 2007|10:30 pm]

i_mockery
We've had a real nice response so far for the "Fido" Zombie Walk this Friday. I'm still trying to get the full details from them, but things are definitely looking up. I'll keep you guys posted via email if you signed up via email and I'll also post updates here and on the zombiewalk.com forums. Hoping to hear some more news tomorrow or Wednesday so I can give you guys a time and a place to meet up for this walk.

More news to come and thanks again for all the expressed interest so far!

LOS ANGELES ZOMBIE WALKERS! [Jun. 8th, 2007|01:35 pm]

i_mockery
I have just been contacted by a promotional company for Lions Gate Films and they would like us to assemble some Zombie Walks, on Friday June 15th, in Los Angeles and New York at the openings of their brand new horror comedy "FIDO". It looks like a really fun movie from what I've seen so far and I'm sure doing a Zombie Walk at the premieres would be a blast as well.

I know this is short notice, but just like when we were asked to organize a walk for the Megan Mullally show, I share the information with you the moment I receive it. I spoke with their promotions and publicity representatives and they said they would be willing to pay you for your participation as usual since this isn't one of our "spur of the moment" Zombie Walks. So yes, it is short notice, but you will be compensated for your time, travel and anything you have to spend on custumes and/or makeup.

If you are interested in participating in either of these events, please get back to me ASAP. I need you to EMAIL me the following information.

1) Your Name
2) Your Email
3) Your Phone #
4) Which Zombie Walk you could attend (New York or Los Angeles - I'm guessing most of you would be for the L.A. one but if you know people in NYC too, let me know.)
5) How many other Zombie Walkers you can bring with you (the more the better!)
6) Any rough estimates on how much $$ you will need to cover all of your expenses.

Please EMAIL this information to:
webmaster@i-mockery.com

Please include "Zombie Walk for FIDO" in the subject line. The sooner you can send this information to me, the better.

Thanks!

More zombie footage from Oct. 7 walk [Nov. 15th, 2006|04:37 pm]

merry_rogue
My friend posted this today as part of his video blog series. Much of it is about his life and things we've done together, but his Zombie Walk L.A. footage is included.

The last real zombie footage stops around 6:00 and the rest is about his moving up north to San Jose.

Gotta love [info]ryanvinson in front of the lingerie (I assume that's him. Sorry if I'm wrong).

Sorry, it might seem off-topic especially with how it starts, but I just wanted to pass along what I could.

Our show opened last night and we already recieved a great review. Rich Borowy for Accessibly Live Off-Line wrote:
"It's just like a grade "D" horror movie, with a grade "A" cast as its stars! Directed by Leif Gantvoort, THEY'RE NOT ZOMBIES is a very witty and funny program. Of course, one could get scared from this show, but there are too many laughs in store to keep one on edge."
We hope to see you there. To make a reservation call: 323-957-5782
