This Monday (7/14/08), join us as we raise money for
"The Children Of Chiapas Foundation",
a non-profit group dedicated to providing the children of the United States
and Latinoamericas with basic human needs like food, shelter, clothing
and education. All proceeds from the door will be donated to the Foundation,
to help send their delegation to Marquez de Comillas Chiapas. You can read
about the trip in their MySpace blog.

All you have to do to help out is show up. Quite literally EVERY CENT helps,
so your $4 admission will go a very long way towards salvaging
a generation of neglected children.

Marking their return after a brief hiatus, the Dead Beaters present Darkness, Pain and Eyeliner, featuring some of the company’s top performers showcasing their spoken word skills as they tackle lyrics to some of the best goth, emo and
industrial songs…dead beat poetry style! That's right, there's no singing here, but rather a serious (and hilarious) "reading" of all those songs that help you deal with the bleakness and misery of life. Think William Shatner doing Nine Inch Nails or Mike Myers (So I Married an Axe Murderer) doing The Cure.

Ground Control regulars will accompany the Society with some karaoke classics from the same genre of despair. The Dead Beat Poets Society has become one of the most popular events in Hollywood…come join the fun.

Please join us in welcoming DJ Darren Revell (Indie 103.1, "Big Sonic Heaven") in officially coming on board with DJ Xian as a resident DJ for RUIN HOLLYWOOD every Friday night!!! We're super excited to have him join the club and look forward to his DJ style complimenting your experience.

But just so you know, we will continue to have guest DJs to keep things mixed up. Coming up this week with be Guest DJ Baron (Severance, The Darkroom), the following week, Guest DJ Jason Farber (Coven 13, Helter Skelter), and after that we tentatively have DJ Sally (Perversion, Clockwork Orange) jotted down in the books.

I've just started playing roller hockey (about 2 months) and I'm looking for other women who are interested in playing/practicing. There's a rink in North Hollywood that we could meet up at -at night til it cools down - (if you know of another good one in the valley, let me know). I'd ideally like to get as many ladies as possible and do this regularly so please message me if you're interested.

EVEN IF YOU'VE NEVER PLAYED BEFORE AND ESPECIALLY IF YOU SUCK! (skates are about $20 or so used at play it again sports, stick is $20, pads....cheap). message me for info on gear. I can even help you learn to skate.
Hockey is a serious badass sport and more chicks need to get into it so come and play for FREEEEEEEEEEE!!!!
