Johnny Boy could go crawl in a hole and die and I wouldn't be upset.

You will never be as funny as Chris Crocker, and you are annoying as fuck. Get over yourself. The world doesn't love you just because your a potty-mouthed fag, okay. The day you start having some actual intelligent opinions like Chris, instead of just running your trashy mouth, you might gain some respect from me, but not until then. Damn.

Good morning.

I'm pretty sure not many of you will read this post--you may not be awake. Who knows?

I just drank a small glass of "juice" (one of those Dole multi-fruit juices--orange, strawberry, pineapple if you're curious) and that was too much sugar at the moment. (Bowl of cereal, fine, but this? ...).

Last night I was really worn out, so much so that I was probably ready to sleep around eight. And the Dr. Scholls made things worse for my feet, actually. So much so that they still hurt, really badly. This is why I can't buy shoes, I think it's just impossible. Not quite, but might as well be. I ended up trying to pass out (ha) around ten but woke up around two. I knew that I wouldn't be able to sleep through to morning but nor did I wish to take a nap, so I just stayed awake for a bit watching TV and reading, then struggling to sleep once more. It didn't help that the light was still on in the kitchen--and I knew that if I didn't go and turn it off myself, probably no one else would. Sigh.

A night of fretful sleep of terrible dreams. And thoughts that wouldn't cease. Whee...

and just to mention )

And to pique Nick's interest (if he backtracks enough to read this, haha), Yung'll probably be purchasing things to make White Russians. XD She bought the pre-made stuff from Publix, but only because the liquor store had closed. She was almost really saddened by it but Kim and I tried to do our part by walking in from the garage and into her room with an ice cream cake already lit.

I just want people to be happy.

Mini-rant... [July 20, 2008 @ 2:06am]

[ mood | annoyed ]

So...people always ask me my major.

English, I tell them. (With a theater minor, but that is not relevant to this post).

"Oh, so you want to be a teacher?"

*thinking* No, actually, teacher is about the last fucking thing on the planet I would ever want to be. Getting up early to stand in front of a bunch of kids who do not want to listen to you and who seem to be on a downward spiral to drugs and shooting up the school is not exactly my cup of tea.

You know you actually get teaching degrees now. English majors can do a hell of a whole lot of other things besides teach. And when you are halfway through college, STILL don't have any sort of "this is what I want in life" besides being a stay at home mom, well, English is a pretty safe bet.

And then they say "well at least it will be something you can fall back on if nothing else works out."

Great, because I plan on failing at every other possibility of career that I could possibly do with an English degree and then do the worlds worst job. Thanks for having that kind of confidence in me.

I hadn't planned on posting again so soon, but I was just reminded of how much I hate the teacher conversation and ya know, needed to share it with my flist.

Photos from around the 国子监街 Guózǐjiàn Jiē in Beijing [July 20, 2008 @ 1:59pm]

Last weekend, The Canadian, WSJ and I went to the Guozijian Street (国子监街 Guózǐjiàn Jiē), formerly known as Chengxian Street (成贤街; Chéngxián Jiē), a street in Dongcheng District, Beijing. The Guozijian and a Confucian Temple are located in the street. The Yonghe Temple (Lama Temple) is next to its east entrance.

The Guozijian (國子監 guózǐjiàn) is a the School of the Sons of State and is sometimes called the Imperial Central School. The Imperial Academy or Imperial College was the national central institute of learning in Chinese dynasties after the Sui. It was the highest institute of learning in China's traditional educational system.

Guozijian were located in the national capital of each dynasty -- Chang'an, Luoyang, Kaifeng, and Nanjing. In Ming there were two capitals; thus there were two Guozijian, one in Nanjing and one in Beijing. The Qing Guozijian, located in Guozijian Street, Dongcheng District, Beijing, was the last Guozijian in China and is an important national cultural asset. The Canadian took photos. Read more... )

Saturday 07.19.2008 -- the orchestrated failure of the US economy [July 19, 2008 @ 11:59pm]

[ mood | worried ]

I awoke in the morning for some unknown reason and eventually had some breakfast. I watched Best Week Ever, Degrassi TNG (good episode), Reality Bites Back (ew.. it doesn't make fun of reality enough.. Michael Ian Black is awesome.. but everything else..), Avatar: The Last Airbender (ah what better way to inject some unneeded near-shudderworthy hilarity in order to make up for the darker elements AND recap the story without literally recapping the story.. not bad), Ben 10: Alien Force (not bad.. those two looked a bit too much like Hellboy & Abe Sapien though), The Soup, The Soup Presents and X-Men (2nd season premiere.. wow.. don't know why I'm still taping from Jetix though as Season 2-5 on data DVD seem PS3 compatible.. not Season 1 though :( ).

I watched the final two episodes of Birds of Prey (great episodes, especially the latter.. too bad they were too lazy to separate them though, the two episodes originally aired together with combined credits :/ ), then soon got online for a bit. I eventually went to the bedroom DVR and watched Picture This (it's a teen comedy that's rather cartoony.. with two Degrassi TNG alums as the main character's two best friends.. just couldn't help but to roll my eyes when the baddies got lucky and the main character had an allergy.. not all people do, but the film doesn't portray it that way.. then the allergy's effects went away way too simple and fast = cartoony.. it wasn't a horrible film though.. it's just okay).

I read some Death Note How To Read 13, then considered Gantz 1 instead. And now I don't want to buy any more Death Note volumes at this time due to the upcoming hardcover Collector's Editions with color pages that were black & white in these original editions. I could tell they were meant to be in color and that annoyed me.. but probably not as much as giving us the color option only after the first editions are completely released.. and marking them up to $20 retail for each. Ugh.

We had some supper, then I returned to the bedroom DVR and watched Roxy Hunter And The Myth Of The Mermaid (not bad.. I like how there's elements for kids as well as elements for adults.. and they're really churning these out fast.. this is the third film, second one this year.. and there's already a fourth Halloween-themed one set to air in October). And that was about it for the night. I'll watch the epic Avatar finale in the morning.. on the big-screen..

See ya.

Hurgh.... [July 19, 2008 @ 11:37pm]

[ music | "Chain" - BACK-ON ]

Augh. Work is exhausting. Period.

So, yesterday (Friday), Dave (from work) did something totally unexpected. He kinda asked me out. Well, I mean I know it was just a "Hey, you wanna go to a wedding on Sunday?!" spur of the moment question, but it was-- yeah. He's been let down by every single girl he's asked to go; they all keep bailing last minute.

He's such a nice guy though! But he just does not seem to pick the right women. They all seem to be a bit flakey. He's not bad looking either, yet he needs to find a cute girl his age. He's ten years older than me.

So I had to say no. Firstly, I won't have anything to wear. Next, I won't have anyone to cover for me tomorrow. Plus, I see him kind of as my older brother! I didn't want to get involved in something that I know would turn out to be awkward.

Man... now I feel bad.

And somehow every night I find that I've stabbed myself with a knife or slit my hand on a sharp object... *looks at mangled hand* Ow. DX

And I got yelled at by one of my bosses today at work. I've never been yelled at before by a boss. It was kind of shocking. She said that I did a "suck-ass job" of organizing the counter. And she made a huge scene in front of customers and employees alike, while I kind of took it all gracefully.

My coworkers, however, said that I did just fine and that she just needed someone to pick on because it keeps everyone on their toes. One of them said that she's a brat and only got the job because her dad runs one of the stores. *sigh*

Whatever. I'm only working there for eight more days, so screw it.

DOCTOR HORRIBLE. OH-EM-EFF-GEE ASOAWO[GNASNGDBFPURIGTJN'ASPBRLTPSDFJINAS.

Joss Whedon is pure genius. Anything he does is infallible!

And I actually Level 1 cried: teared up and sighed. If you can get me to at least Level 1 cry, you've accomplished something. (Like, I watched Pearl Harbor today and Level 1 cried.)

Okay, anyway. Neil Patrick Harris and Nathan Fillion need to do another project together. ^_^ I think they should take the show to stage and make it longer. That'd be phenomenal. XD
----------------------------------------------

It's Jared Padalecki's birthday today! Yay! Happy Birthday, Jared! I should watch a Sammy-centric episode. ^_^

Oh hey, was the Avatar series finale today? I've been sporadically watching episodes here and there, but because I work so much I've missed a lot. I did catch the episode with the play, however. As Andrea would say: LULZ the entire time. XD

And I plan to buy all three seasons when they come to boxset. \(^o^)/ It will be très worth it.

And dudes, I've still been thinking about The Dark Knight. My dad came up to the counter at work today and said to me, "Why so serious?" And I said, "I just want my phone call."

It was perfect. ^_^

Okay, I need to see it in IMAX now. I just HAVE to.

So I did actually finish Wuthering Heights, I just didn't get around to posting about it...mostly because it was good, but I don't really feel like talking about anything right now. My posts lately have just been kind of short since I just don't really feel like talking. I think I do, but once I start I just get tired of it. Like right now. This is it for tonight.
