About
Are you in...college? (That magical, mystical world of higher education where angsty teens are thrown upon the real world to either fail miserably or dare to be great!) Better yet, are you in a Kentucky college?
Then the Kentucky Collegiate Network is for you! The KCN is LiveJournal's first community dedicated to college life for all students of Kentucky's post-secondary educational system.
Perhaps you're a high school student thinking about a Kentucky college, or transferring in? The KCN is for you!
Alumnus of a Kentucky college? The KCN is for you!
Fan of a Kentucky college team? The KCN is for you!
Staff memember or instructor at a Kentucky college? The KCN is for you!
The Kentucky Collegiate Network openly welcomes anyone and everyone involved in any aspect of the Kentucky collegiate world. We only have a few rules, though:
- No college is any better than another college. We are all equals here. Flaming, trolls, excessive bragging, and the ilk will not be tolerated. You will be banned after the FIRST offense.
- If you couldn't pass it off in a term paper, then don't try to pass it off in an entry here. Hopefully the majority of us have some comprehension of the English language. Besides poor grammar, this includes excessive obscenities and childish behavior. This is a community of adults, for adults.
- The only community promotions allowed are for communities related to Kentucky or educational things. You can promote a sub-community for say, Sullivan University, or for fans of the Louisville Bats, or for discussion of popular topics in anthropology, what have you, as long as it is Kentucky or education-related. Promos for your off-beat fan club community will not be tolerated.
- Off topic posts will be tolerated as long as they are of importance. (e.g. Introductions, advertising for a roommate, Kentucky but not necessarily educational things, etc.) Posts bitching about the latest loser on American Idol will not be tolerated. If you make an honest mistake, that's fine, but please go back and delete your entry, or we'll do it for you.
