I just wanted to thank Kurt for coming out there last night. It was so great to have him my Sign of Hope because my boyfriend moved down to Chicago at the end of June, and it was a big deal for me. He was there with me, and I normally like to think I'm not a shy person, but Josh had to do most of the talking for me.
But it was wonderful to go and see the pieces in person and to meet Kurt. And Julie West had some amazing pieces as well!!
Thank you again, Kurt!

I just wanted to point out how wonderful the KurtHalseyIsLove photobucket is. Whoever maintains it deserves a huge high five for keeping it so nicely organized so that Kurt's work, fan creations, tattoos, and other related materials are easily found. It's pretty much the most amazing ever. I'm going to speak for the entire comminuty by saying thank you!

so i had nothing to do today so i decided to catch up on things.

few weeks ago i had actually gotten some stuff from kurt (which yes as usual came on a bad day, my turtle had passed away) and i died of laughter when i opend it and saw that kurt threw in an extra "so much greener" post card, but there was a stain at the top...i thought it was coffee or something, i soon figured out that it was smelly cat pee...i thought this was hysterical and i just wanted to say that i think  i beat the girl who found a cat hair with her print ha.  i then decided that it would be a waste to throw it out so i mailed it to my ex-bf whos lately been a douchebag of a friend lately saying "hope your holidays went well, call me sometime"  i'm not usually that mean, but he deserves it. he imed me the other day saying thanks for the postcard it was so sweet...guess he didnt notice ha. oh

a while back an amazing member of this community, [info]allofyoursread a post of mine talking about how my 2006 wasn't the best year and she did something amazing, she got kurt to personalize post-its with this quote i created to get me through the year, and she even got another post it that said it was to me! and she included art star post cards, it was the best day ever when i got that, i practically cried.

and then a few weeks ago i was suppose to get together with this boy i know, who i really like who likes me too (but lives 1.5hours from my house and 2hrs from my apt. at school) so seeing him is rare but great.  however a few days before we were suppose to get together he got into a terrible car accident...and was unconscious for a little over a week and now is still there and needs surgery on his hip and jaw, so i painted something for him and am mailing it to his friend to give to him since i'm at school.

Honestly, Kurt is by far the most amazing guy to his fans!

The mail lost my prints that I bought, therefore I never received them. I talked to Kurt about it and he said he would send them to me again.

Well, I got them today!

Included were...

Door Propped Open
Heartest

and 2 extras!

Always a Forever
What is Rain

Holy crap, I feel like the luckiest girl! I'm redoing my room this weekend- painting and such, so I'll have to frame them and take pictures.

Kurt, if you read this- thank you so much. It really means a lot!

So, you know how most people post to say that receiving a Kurt item in the mail usually makes a bad day better? Well, today I'm writing to tell you that what I got today just made my whole WEEK look better; and with finals coming up, that's a whole lot of better.

When I first ordered the journal, I had asked for just my name, and then wrote in a correction to have my name and my boy's name on the inside. I got the journal, and it only had my name on. No biggie; I e-mailed Kurt and asked if I could just have a bit of paper with the correction on it to paste in.

Sure, said Kurt, being the awesome person he is. And it was thus mailed.

What I did not know - and did not find out until today - is that he sent me a WHOLE NEW JOURNAL with the correction. I'm totally stoked. Couldn't stop smiling. Plus I managed to order a print, so I have that to look forward to - this is amazing. Kurt is the nicest artist and an all-around fantastic person; I hope that one day I have the honour of meeting him.

Thank you, Kurt.

so i know everyone talks about having bad days and then a kurt item arrives and makes it better, but i'm adding a spin on that.  yesterday i was having a great day, dunkin donuts had my muffin, work was busy and hectic but it made the day go by so fast, their was no traffic on my way home, watched my favorite band that had a special on Fuse on tv, i was shown on the television multiple times including being interviewed, my computer which was broken and was suppose to take 4weeks was done yesterday 2weeks early...and thennnn when i got home at 2am lol since leaving home at 7:30 the day before i went on kurts site and the books were up...anddddd par avion wasn't sold out! i love the other book too, however this one has more meaning to me because of how it relates to me and my boy, which is good since im making the book kind of like a scrapbook for me and him.

so i just wanted to share that and say thank you to kurt, and all of you for letting me know that the books were up!

oooh and i have a question, i swear i saw a kurt drawing of a boy and girl kissing and the boy was wearing a hat? it's pretty recent.  i may have dreamt this lol...i also think i saved it on my computer at home but again this may all be a dream...i'm odd.  i checked the photobuckets and couldnt find it! i can check at home, however i am at work now until 6:30ish which is 6.5hours from now and i was anxious to get a hold of this, so any help is appreciated.

thanks!

01:25 am - Time for a trip to the updation station!
It could just be the I have joined another community-one that makes 100 posts a day, however, it seems as though the activity in this community has dwindled. Perhaps it is the lack of sales posts? Is this just not the tatooing season? Who knows. But, I have certainly noticed the decline in posts. Infact, I looked at the archives and in February, we had an average of 10 posts a day. Now, we average about 2. How do you explain that one, missies? And sirs?

Anyhow, perhaps we are all just busy, but one thing is inevitably clear. We still love Kurt with all of our hearts and souls! Kurt, you still move me more than ever and I tell people about your work at every chance I can get. Er, well..sometimes I hold back, in fear you become unreachably famous and the cool kids turn you into a trend. Anyhow, I look forward to years and years of more works of beauty. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!

Now, onto some community activity. I love this community, I always have, so if it means I have to make several posts to get this place active again, then by golly, I will.

I'd like to think of something exceptionally creative, but I got out of classes over a month ago and my juices just aren't flowing. But, I'll sleep on it (baby, baby, let me sleep on it). So, I took a gander at this bad boy the other day:

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

And it's so interesting to me how things can be so relative to one person's life, and have a whole new meaning in somebody elses. This piece reminds exactly of my boyfriend and I. Ever since the very beginning of our realtionship, it seems as though, anytime we hang out, he always falls asleep so early! I'm not 80 years old, and I'd like to do something past 11 pm, you know? But, his house, my house..anywhere, he falls asleep. I usually get upset because I feel like he must not have much fun being with me, otherwise he'd want to stay awake. You know, like a little kid stays up to watch the scary movie because he's so intrigued, despite what his body is telling him? That sort of thing. Also, we can be in the hugest hugest fight over the phone and I'll be making a 10 minute eloquent speech that would not only further my debate but also pretty much nullify any point he made beyond belief...only to find out he slept through it. So, naturally, I scream into the phone, dial buttons, talk louder, hang up and call back a million times, etc. etc.

I'm definitely the sort of person who needs to talk everything out in an almost list like manner. Nothing can slip by without it being discussed or I seriously feel unsettled. He, on the other hand, can fall asleep with no worries even when I feel the world is crashing down. So, everytime I see this piece, although it is a role reversal to my personal life, it reminds me exactly of Christian and I, arguing. And just looking at it, I can honestly feel the hurt and frustration of the whole situation. The urgency of having that attention and the frustration of trying with all your might, yet to no avail. The way you see the boy sitting in the corner of the picture; her face encompasing solitude as though nothing were ever wrong, the red rage and urgency of the word "always"...I know it all too well, it feels.

So, naturally, we can all relate to many of Kurts pieces depending on the time period, the relationship, the mood, etc. But, what ONE piece is sticking out to you right now, and why? GO!

I know there are so many post that are written about how Kurt Halsey made a bad day better and I kinda wanted to share my story. This is more about a user [info]hardspacecore. A couple months ago we decided to trade posters and I had been waiting to receive mine.
Okay, so my best friend Donnie of 12 years died on April 13, 2004 and as I was laying in bed on the 12th I was thinking about the poster for some reason and him a lot. The next day I walked down to my parent's apartment and we were getting ready to go to the cemetary when she pointed to the fridge and there was a poster tube. Obviously a poster isn't going to make me feel better, but I was happy to have a smile about something on a very hard day. Keep in mind that we have been trying to trade with eachother for a couple months and it was just strange to me that my poster arrived on this date.
Thank you very much. The wait was worth it all for the poster to arrive when it did.
Have a great day everyone!

08:06 pm - Thanks Kurt!
So, I always read about how peoples days were going horribly and then they got Kurt stuff and I've always thought, people people, are you dumb!? Obviously Kurt doesn't know when you're feeling down. Odds are, you are always feeling down. And I wouldn't be surpised if I'm right because a) the majority demographic here is teenage girls and everyone knows how hormonal they are and b) a lot of Kurts work is about love/ heartbreak, therefore odds are, the people drawn to it are drawn because they find realation within his work to their own situations, and thus, again, are sad to begin with anyway.

And I still believe that. But I also believe that Kurt is one of the sweetest people, ever. And he makes people feel a lot better about themselves, their situations, their day, etc.

Yesterday, he made me nearly cry. I came home from school at 8ish. (film class until 6 and scene rehearsal, after, bleh) I saw a tube on the floor next to the door. Yea, the nerd I am, I was all like omg, kurt stuff, narff! But we had company so for an hour, I had to sit with them. Then I got to thinking. What did I order from Kurt? Did I trade somebody? Did I buy something off of ebay? Might someone have bought me something? And I was like, yea, no. Nobody nought me anything. The trade I was going to do didn't come into fruition. I doubt I purchased off of ebay.

Anyway, I open it up, and it's a "How Our Hands Match" print. And literally I like..wailed, lol. You see, I emailed Kurt a week ago, asking if he had any left for purchase and hadn't updated the site. He replied with a "sorry, we are all out". And so, I bid on ebay. And then I get the print from him! He just sent it to me. Without me even knowing!

I want to do something wonderful for him. Because its crazy, but that made me feel, I dont know, special. It made me feel like he was a friend. And I'm going through such a rough time in my life right now, where everything is just failing miserably with my mom being sick and relationship issues and such that all I can use now is a friend. Someone who cares. And to do something like that was just..wow. I think that was my first genuine smile in at least a month and a half.

The print is meangful because, although its slightly off, but my boyfriend and I have matching hands, literally. Size wise, anyway. (No i dont have humongous hands and no his aren't too small, lol) But we noticed that on our first date. It was sweet.

Thank you so much, Kurt. So, so much. And I know you're in love, and I know I'm in love, but if I had a clone, and you had a clone, and Loren and Christian didn't have clones, I should hope our clones got married.

09:06 pm - This just MADE my day!
Today is turning out to be wonderful! Not only did I get good news at work - they are going to change my schedule, so I may be more than a part time employee! *plus I'm going in early on Wednesday since their new office opened - so I'm going to have a bigger paycheck*, but I just ordered my postcard sets! I am the happiest person in the world right now! I've been stalking Kurt's website hoping to see them up, and low and behold, tonight I got lucky! *giddy*

I'm glad that Kurt was generous enough to put them back up after so many of us missed out. I should get my taxes back soon - most of that will go towards an apartment, but I can at least splurge a little and get frames for these and the prints of paintings in March. My apartment will be full of Kurt artwork!

Thanks again Kurt - I may not have recieved anything in the mail, but the simple fact that I was able to purchase the postcards due to your generousity, made my entire week.

05:27 pm - aw
so i definately have totally awesome friends. when the postcards first came out i made an away message with a link to the store that said "someone should buy these for me :)." i made it kind of jokingly...i didn't really expect anyone to actually pay attention to it. when he took the postcards down i was just kinda like, "ah man...now i'm going to have to wait until they come back and then try to convince my parents to let me borrow a credit card..." however today my dad came in with the mail and handed me an envelope and said, "i think this is for you." i saw the Kurt Halsey return address stamp almost immediately and was like, "dude!" then i looked at the name on the address and it said "Megose WithloveAsh." turns out my friend Ash got them for me for Valentine's Day. :0) it just really made me happy cuz i was not expecting it at all.
and Kurt's stuff really does have a way of coming at good times. seeing as how i'm sick and sore (due to my massive amounts of spaziness i fell down the stairs yesterday. and no, it's not the first time it's happened...) this was a much needed nice surprise. :0)

After the recent excitement about fraud and counterfeit auctions on eBay, I think it's time to focus on the good stuff: This community and its awesome members.

Therefore, if any member has ever done anything kind or awesome to you, like sending you Kurt Halsey things for free or helping you with your Kurt Halsey layout graphics or lent you their credit card to buy something from the store (not encouraged :P), this is your chance to say thank you.

Comment with the username or (only!) first name, and why.

I just wanted to post because: I was excited, wanted to thank Kurt, and also had a question...

I didn't recieve a poster with my previous order so I emailed Kurt. He wrote back telling me there was a mistake and it would be mailed out asap. Well... I haven't seen it yet since I'm at school but my mom opened the tube for me and said I recieved the poster as well as the new print for the LJ community!! Like I said, I haven't seen it in person but I'd assume it's wonderful. Thank you so much Kurt!

Also, I adore what it says on the Breathe Deep & Breathe Easy piece, and I remember other pictures of it being posted. If anyone can point me to those that would be wonderful, I'm trying to find something larger than in the photobucket account.

02:08 pm - How our hands match.
I have to say thank you to Kurt for putting out a print I finally relate to. I don't buy merch and prints/posters to build my Kurt "shrine", I merely buy nice pieces that relate to me, frame them properly, and love them. I have a couple posters, no prints... but finally went ahead and bought "How our hands match". Relation? My boyfriend and I constantly compare hands (I have very small hands, he often teases me for that) and I adore the simplicity.

I can't wait to finally receive, frame, and admire my first print in about three or four years of being a fan.
