my_melodies - A fantastic compliation from everything of alternative rock to J-Pop to indie!
tip_taps_tip - A great variety of Asian music! Single song uploads with real rotations. A great way to check out new or other Asian artists!
ecoutezsvp - Like ourselves, this community has a large variety of music uploaded including English and Asian music! Albums are mostly uploaded.
radio_alouette - Music from all around the world! A definite choice if you want to broaden your musical horizons!
ontheairwaves - An extensive variety of music, updated very regularly! Check it out!
organisedsound - It's a new artist spotlight community that aims to provide quality music from some lesser known artists, as well as, some of the more popular ones.
rock_aria - Not a music rotation community. This community is hoping to bring together people who love to go to concerts and love to talk about them!
yongwonhi - A fantastic collection of Asian music, updately almost daily! Always has the newest singles and albums up for grabs!
utamix - A rotation community (English music, Asian music, and beyond) that also shares things like dorama/anime episodes and manga from time to time.
headphoneclash - A music rotation with mostly Asian music (jrock, jpop, kpop), but they do pretty much anything, from American rock to Eurobeat to French opera. Each mod has a different day to post.
freezepops - A small music rotation with single songs, albums, and even movies up for members to get their little hands on!
ying_zi_de_xin - A two person posting crew who post tons of music (Japanese, Korean, Chinese, and English, too ^^).
frh_icontest - An icontest community deticated to the Taiwanese band Farenheit or 飛輪海.
kotoonna - A brand new user who rates Japanese, Korean, and Chinese music!
supercosmic - A rotation community that has a variety of Asian, English, and Spanish music!
1world_music - A rotation community with rock, pop, dance, electronica, r&b, metal, crossover, classical, hip-hop and a few more genres from Turkey, Greece, Thailand, Japan, Korea, China, India, Germany, France, the Netherlands, Canada, Spain, the U.K., and a couple other countries. Updated very frequently!
quiteshiny - A media rotation full of shinies. We have a selection from anime to dramas to music mixes in mainly Chinese, Japanese, Korean and English. Updated daily!
telechargements - A file sharing community mainly devoted to posting discographies and album collections.
ishoku_ichirin - A file sharing community that uploads whole albums/singles and sometimes discographies. They share Japanese, Korean, and Taiwanese music but mainly Japanese (at least for the moment anyways).
bhc_audio - A music community that posts music from many different genres, with a concentration in American dance/rock and Asian pop/rock.
int_dateline - Features a variety of music ranging from Western [American + European], Indian, Japanese, Korean, Chinese, and so forth. Types of genres include Pop, Rock, Indie, Alternative, New Wave, Punk, Techno, Electro, R&B, Hip-Hop, Oldschool, Classical, and Instrumental.
faerytalemusic - A new music-sharing community that focus on music of a more magical, ethereal, profound, etc. nature.
robot_rotation - A multicultural mp3 rotation that features both obscure and mainstream music from around the world.
soundwire - A music rotation focusing mainly on English-based songs, mostly of the rock/indie/punk/alternative genre.
remocon - A new rotation community that posts albums/singles/etc. from all over the world (although it's main focus is on the Asian countries).
ongoingmelody - Updated regularly with Japanese, Korean, and Chinese albums/singles, both recommended old releases and fresh new releases. Posts a variety of genres, too - everything from bubblegum pop to electronica.

For every problem that occurs, we will issue it and the resolutions to those issues below.

How do I get the music into iTunes?

Step 1: Download the file from the server, choose a specific folder where you can find the file later on.
Step 2: After it has finished downloading, find the file.
Step 3: All of our files are in .zip or .rar form unless we upload individual songs. You will need WinZIP (WinZIP doesn't unzip .rar files!!) and/or WinRAR (for steps on these programs, look to question #2). Unzip the file, make sure to choose a folder specific for these files!
Step 4: Once you've unzipped the files, open iTunes. Do the following:
File >>> Add folder to library >>> Choose the folder that you unzipped the files to >>> Click OK
Step 5: Your files should be added to your library immediately!
How do I use WinZip?

Info: WinZip will only unzip the .zip files, so first make sure that you have a .zip file before you continue on.
Step 1: Double click on the .zip file you've downloaded. WinZip should pop up and there should be three long buttons, click the one that says "Use Evaluation Version".
Step 2: WinZip should open the file and you should see it.
Step 3: Go to Actions >>> Select All; once all of the files/folders are selected, click EXTRACT (it's one of the main buttons at the top).
Step 4: A dialog box should pop up. Here you need to find or make a folder that will hold these files. The best place is probably in the My Music folder, your organizational skills should be key here. Make a folder for this specific group, artist, musical, whatever. It will make it easier for you later on.
Step 5: Once you've found your folder, click Extract. It should take a second, but when you go to that folder, the files will be there.
How do I use WinRAR?

Info: WinRAR can open both .zip files and .rar files. So don't worry.

FOR MODS! How do I build an iTunes library webpage so that people can request?
To export your iTunes library as a .txt file (for iTunes 5+):
Step 1: In your iTunes library, go to File >> Export... (not Export Library).
Step 2: When the dialog box comes up, find a place to save your file, but make sure it is going to be saved as a TEXT FILE (.txt) instead of as an XML file.
Step 3: Choose an appropriate title when you're saving this, such as "Jilly's iTunes Library"--this title will appear when you've completed your playlist as your main title. Click OK.

To create the playlist:
Step 1: Download this program via SendSpace or MegaUpload. (if links are dead the program name is iTunesXHTMLPlaylist--here's another place to download it)
Step 2: Unzip it and run the installation .exe--make sure you know where the program is being saved during installation.
Step 3: Find the program and double click on the icon: it should say "iTunes XHTML Playlist". The program should pop up.
Step 4: THIS IS FOR STYLING! DO NOT CLICK FILE >> OPEN, DO NOT CONTINUE UNTIL YOU'VE DONE THIS!
It is relatively easy to understand, you can choose what you want your iTunes library to show when you upload it (the easiest for requests is just to stick to Title, Artist, Time, and Album). You can choose how you want your playlist to look, a few styles are in the selection box to the left. You can select how many characters for each column are allowed (making your playlist wider or smaller depending upon how you like it--I chose 75, it was fine).
SELECT ALL OF THIS INFORMATION BEFORE YOU CONTINUE!
Step 5: Click on "Choose File" and find where you've saved your exported iTunes Library.txt file. Click OK. It will then ask you where you want your HTML file to be saved--choose that location and namesake (the name doesn't matter for this, you can choose whatever). Click OK. It will take a few minutes depending on how many songs you have, but when it's finished, you'll know.

To upload it to the internet:
Info: It is now a .htm or .html file, so it is a webpage.
Step 1: Might I suggest FreeWebs.com to upload. It's free and easy to use.
Step 2: If you are using FreeWebs, to upload the file, find your "SITE MANAGER" and then click on "SINGLE FILE UPLOADER". Find your .htm/.html file (it was the second thing you were asked to save in the program) and then click "UPLOAD".
Step 3: Your Site Manager should now have your file in it's list. You can click on the name of the file in order to view your iTunes library webpage.

Welcome to kumikyoku, a music rotation community (but you know that already)...

Before you join, there are a few things you should realize--don't worry, there's not a lot.

We are here to bring music to you, we don't do it to be ignored. If you download, please comment. It takes only a minute of your time, you could probably do it while it's downloading. We greatly appreciate hearing from you guys.
Don't go reposting this music elsewhere (claiming you did it yourself more or less), especially if we're spending the time to organize and bring this music to you.
Do not be a download-hog. This means downloading the file more than twice, for most servers there is a limit to how many times a file can be downloaded, the more times you download it, the number of available downloads goes down.
If you want a file to be reuploaded, don't be afraid to ask. We're more than willing to reupload a file, however, if you want multiple things reupload by the same user at once, you'll have to talk to them for their approval.
As reported recently, music downloads off of the internet are only allowed to be kept on your computer for 48 hours after you have download it. Since well, I don't follow that rule, and I know everyone who writes this on their music rotation journals NEVER follow that rule--I will simply say this: If you have an issue with the government, don't involve us. We may be the ~~Death Eaters~~ slithering serpents with the apple, but you cannot blame us for taking it.
