#64 - Serenity Tutorial
Going from:
to
Involves a selective color layer, but the rest can be useful for non-PS users.
1. Begin with base:
2. Duplicate your base and set the layer to SCREEN (I did this 4 times):
3. Follow the coloring steps (#4-9) of this tutorial:
4. Then, in 68pt SF Poster (download @ dafont.com) in black, I wrote, "THIS IS HOW IT IS" and placed it accordingly:
5. Using this texture by
dearest, I pasted it in the middle of the picture (it's resized) and set the layer to LIGHTEN 100%:
6. Then, I turned the text and the
dearest texture layer invisible and desaturated my picture. In other words, I copy merged and desaturated it so it looked like this. Then, I erased most of the background so that only the people were showing. Then, placing it off-center in the picture (a little to the right and down), I set the layer to DARKEN 100%:
>
7. Then, pasting on this texture by me on a new layer and setting it to SCREEN 100%, I got this:
8. Then, in SF Movie Poster font 60pt, I wrote "i will shoot you" in #d3f5fb and "down." in black (on separate layers):
9. Then, I pasted on this texture by me and set it to MULTIPLY 100%:
10. Next, I pasted on this texture by
xonlyashesx and set it to SCREEN 100%:
11. Then, using this brush by
ewanism, I stamped it on in black (although you can just paste on this picture and set it to MULTIPLY, if you want):
12. Then, in 68pt SF Movie Poster font, I wrote "@" and ".com" in white and "livejournal" in black and in 45pt I wrote "helloimkelsey" in black, placing the white colored font layers behind the black ones:
And it's done! It may be a little confusing, so feel free to ask questions (and state the program you're using), leave comments if you like it/use it, and join/watch my community!
>>>>.PSD file!!!!
*Edit: I decided to make icontastic examples of this header because I like to waste time like that.
<<<--- These icons are just resized/cropped versions of the finished product.
<<-- This is resized/cropped, but the text was modified.
<----This icon was resized/cropped, except I duplicated this DARKEN layer, dragged the layer to the top, and placed it near the bottom of the icon and set it to NORMAL. (if you crop and resize the finished header and then add the new layer, the layers look like this)
