UUFO NIGHT (Unofficial Unfinished Object Night)
Some of you wanted to form a "support group" of sorts for your UFOs, and some expressed interest in doing that on a Thursday. Well, here it is! Thursday.

I had intended to start later in the day, but I sprained the HELL out of my ankle last night and now I'm stuck knitting/crocheting all day, because I can't walk. No idea how I'm supposed to take a shower, oy. :P

So c'mon-- let's chip away at that forgotten pile of pretty tonight. Who's in?

edit: you guys = awesome.

I'm not really in UFO-land right now, but I could easily be headed there. I have a baby blanket that keeps getting put off for slightly-more-fun projects (the baby isn't due until June, so it doesn't need to be done quite yet!). So I think I'll join you and force myself to work on the blanket tonight instead of the sweater!

And I'm sorry about your ankle--what happened? Maybe take a bath, but only if you can get yourself into and out of the bath without that foot...

thanks.

well, it was actually quite spectacular. i wish i could do *injuries* half-assed, at least...

i flipped my computer off, stood up and realized that my left foot was a little bit asleep. no big deal; i've walked when feet were a little bit asleep before. but even though it wasn't ASLEEP asleep, it just stopped working mid-stride and twisted inward. i fell first into my open (screened) window (amazing that i didn't fall to my death), into my night table, into my favorite lamp which i fear i've broken, and onto the floor face-first.

really. it was quite something.

now it's all swollen and fat and i'm pissed because i can't do my daily cycling. >:O

Pretty much. Turn those UFOs into FOs! If you force yourself to work on it, you might realize you love it and get it done, or else you'll realize you hate it and rip it to become something better. At least that's my hope.

I started a bit early, but I finally picked up all the pieces of the sweater I started right after I learned to knit, and started to put it all together. One sleeve sewn in.

Once I get it all together, I do need to knit facings and a collar, so I probably can't finish tonight. But its further than I've gotten in months and months. It's a very pretty wool sweater with a loopy mohair carry along in a bomber jacket kind of style. It was hell to knit, but at least I don't have to mess with the mohair carry along any more.

Heh, I've had my share of ankle injuries. I had one operated on once; that made bathing even more challenging. If you have a tub it's easier. I think I got in with a sort of scuba diving fall into the tub. It was orchestrated beautifully, I'm sure. ~_^

I'm totally ahead of the game on this event though! I found the motivation to cast on for that second sock, and I've been working on it here and there for a few days! Maybe I should work on a different UFO today. LOL #^__^#

how anybody could lose interest in *those* is beyond me. :P

Find a chair that won't mind taking a shower with you and sit on it.
It works pretty well :)

But I'll be working on my Blue Bella in the lulls, so that's OK.

this is such a good idea.
at first i was afraid, i was petrified. but then i went and got out an afghan square i'd been ignoring because i wasnt sure how long to make it. i decided to make it 13" long, so i only had an inch left to knit! its in beautiful cables. i was almost finished with it (i had like 15 stitches left to cast off) when my FRIEND FROM THOUSANDS OF MILES SHOWED UP AT MY FRONT DOOR WITH NO WARNING WHATSOEVER

so i still havent finished it

but after those 15 stitches are done i can finally move on to another square which makes me VERY HAPPY!

THANKS!
