Long Shot - I need pale green Reynolds Mandalay [26 May 2009|04:31pm]

grenacia
I am knitting a vest in lettuce green Reynolds Mandalay and I am afraid I will run out of yarn a little bit before I finish. I bought the yarn on sale locally a few years ago without a project in mind, then recently decided it would make a good vest for my dad. Now I think I won't have enough and the store does not carry the yarn anymore.

Does anyone have a little extra Reynolds Mandalay in lettuce green or leaf fern green (which I could throw in as a contrasting color)? If you can find some for me I will find something you want in return to trade.

Need black Cotton-Ease [24 May 2009|06:29pm]

tvini
Does anyone out there happen to have a bit of black cotton-ease they could spare? I can find charcoal, which is a dark gray, but not a true black. I think it's called "licorice" by Lion Brand. If it's just a partial ball, that's fine, as I really only need about five yards, enough to put a few details on a fair isle sweater. I have other colors I'd be happy to trade full balls of, or other yarns if need be.

Thank you!

Stitch1Knit1.com - do not buy [10 May 2009|04:43pm]

thalinoviel
Don't give stitch1knit.com your money. Just don't.

From my email to their customer service department, who have finally written to me 6 weeks after I gave them money, and who have still not responded to my earlier complaint:

So, let me get this straight for the knitting communities I'm going to be telling about your service:

The item you did manage to send me wasn't the same colour as the picture, and when I complained about that I got no response at all or any information about how to return it

AND

It has taken you 6 weeks to tell me the other item I ordered is out of stock despite the fact that when I ordered it your website said it was in stock.

It's a good thing I decided to get my materials elsewhere, because the deadline for the commission I was working on was last weekend.

Thank God for http://www.purplelindacrafts.co.uk/

I need about 15-20 yards of Socks That Rock Mediumweight in the Jubilation colorway to finish binding off my Adamas shawl.

I can trade for my leftover STR Medium in 24 Carat, leftover Regia silk in brown or deep green, Trekking XXL or Lornas Laces in a variety of colorways.

I've also posted this request on the Ravelry ISO group.

knitpicks swish worsted swap [20 Apr 2009|04:53pm]

thwomp
Hi Folks,
One more set of things I'd like to swap.

I have 7 unused, still in their bag skeins of knitpicks swish superwash worsted in "capri", a discontinued lovely aqua color.

I am looking for other colors of swish superwash so that I can make a bunch of multicolored squares.

So, I am hoping to trade skein for skein in any of these colorways:
Sunshine
Dark Navy
Fired Brick
Allspice
Lawn
Wisteria

If you are looking to swap these or have any other colors of swish that you think would go with my multicolored scheme, let me know.

De-Stash [13 Apr 2009|10:31pm]

thwomp
I have too much yarn I am never going to use. On top of that, I have a small house with limited storage. I am hoping to rectify this by swapping a decent amount of varying sizes of yarn (lace, sock, worsted, bulky, specialty, I got it all.) This would be a good swap for someone who is new to knitting and wants to try a bit of everything and see what they like.

What I'd really like is to find someone who is willing to take it all.

I am really not looking for much in return for it at all. I like to knit dishcloths/washcloths in sugar'n'cream and afghan blocks in swish superwash from 101 knitted blocks as "pick up projects". I also quilt, so if you'd like to trade some yarn stash for some quilt fabric stash, let me know. There is also the ubiquitous gift certificate option. Knitpicks would be fine, or purl soho, if they do that sort of thing.

Yarn I Don't Want:

- 1 hank knitpicks gossamer, caribbean

- 1 ball of sock yarn, don't remember the name. Purples and whites and a bit of tan. Should make 2 socks, according to the lady who sold it to me at the knit festival.
- 1 skein plus about half a skein plymoth encore, color 0208 (white)
- 7 skeins wool-ease worsted, rose heather, one knitted and frogged

- 1 skein "pittsburgh worsted" acrylic wool blend, camo colored, no ball band

- most of a skein of knitpicks shamrock, macnamara (teal withwhite/light teal)

- 1 skein Paton's Soy Wool Stripes, natural geranium (little teeny bit from another skein that I will toss in)

- 4 balls andean alpaca regal bulky in color 422, another 1-2 balls worth in off white

- 2 balls plymouth eros glitz, color 109 (black and silver ladder yarn)

- 1 feltable grab bag, pinks and tans (6 balls)
- 1 ball plymouth dazzlelash, color 101 (hot pink with some glitz, bought it to knit with some of the pinks above to felt and get those funky fuzzy stripes in a bag)
- 1 ball plymouth firenze, color 432 (dark pink, to go with dazzlelash and feltable pinks above)

- 1 set 7 inch clover dpns, size 2

Also, a few blocks I knitted from the reynolds alpaca, if you're interested in that for any reason, I can throw them in.

ETA: some things claimed.  Some things still up for grabs.  Thanks folks!

In trade, I'd be especially interested in a nostepinne, spinning fiber, drop spindles, or books about drop spinning. I'm also in the market for a shawl pin and some row counters. I'm trying to cut back on yarn, but will happily consider offers of yarn. I'd be happy to trade some of these things for, say, easter candy or other non-knit related items. :) Thanks!

[ mood | hopeful ]

I have a BUNCH of Lopi Country yarn that I just have no use for (it was a gift). I live in California and don't go skiing or anything, so super warm sweaters/coats are really not a necessity.

If you're on Ravelry, they're here in my stash: Colourway 901: Reddish-Brown (6 skeins for 660 yards) and Colourway 9: Brown (9 skeins for 981 yards) Both sets are all the same dyelot within the colourway.

I'd be happy to trade for sock yarn, worsted weight felting yarn, any weight (up to bulky) cashmere/silk yarns/alpaca, or any hand-dyed yarns that are not super-bulky. Or we could work out a Knit Picks purchase too ... I've seen that done before here I think.

If you're interested, let me know what you have and we can work out a trade that's amicable! You can comment here or email me at hockeyelf (at) gmail

Seeking plymouth encore [15 Feb 2009|10:35am]

queen_alpaca
Hi! I'm looking for 4-5 skeins of plymouth encore (worsted) in a purple/lavender colorway. I'm not picky about what kind of purple, as long as all the skeins are the same color.

For trade, I've got:

--6 (possibly 7) skeins of Knitpicks Cadena in Leaf
--2 skeins Dale of Norway Baby Ull in Cherry
--1 skein Elizabeth Lavold Silky Wool in Moss -- this has been partially knit and frogged. It's the recommended yarn for knitty's branching out (I made one with another skein, and love it)
--Craft magazine, issue 9, the green issue. This is BRAND new, it's still in the plastic it was mailed in. (I received duplicate issues.)

Thanks!!

ISO Lornas Laces Roving (not yarn) [07 Feb 2009|12:30am]

krings_keep
I saw this once in a store in North Carolina, but haven't seen it since.

Thought I would give it a try here.

Unfortunately all I have to swap is Sweater Design in Plain English. Or I can buy it from you.

Katheryne

EDIT: I now remember the town was Greensboro, NC - a nice little store with great yarn...

Lorna's Laces Heaven [06 Feb 2009|04:20pm]

molliewollie

This is beautiful yarn, but it was an impulse buy and I am not a mohair person.  I have come to the conclusion that I will never, ever use it and thus I should find it a new home.  It really is way too nice to sit in the stash unloved.
975 yards of a beautiful semisolid mohair (90% mohair, 10% nylon). The colorway is Blackberry, dyelot 8613.  Ideally I'm looking for nice sock yarn and/or kneesocks-worth of Knitpicks' Essential... but there are a lot of things I'd take for it.  Make me an offer.

Pictures )I also have a pair of size 13 Lantern Moon rosewood needles which I never use and am looking for a new home for as well.  I believe they're 14 inches.

i'm looking for either gift credit to blue moon fiber arts, or woolgirl.com.....or sock yarn...i really only knit socks these days sp thats why i'm up for a swap.

Silky Merino in Bosques for other Malabrigo? [20 Nov 2008|03:32pm]

spookygrlfriend
I somehow came into a bunch of skeins of Malabrigo Silky Merino in Bosques (a nice, off-black/off-white color combo). I've used a few, but franky... I'm tired of using this color. I mostly do small projects and even though I probably have enough for a small sweater, I don't think I'd wear this colorway in sweater form.

So I've got 8 skeins up for grabs. Ideally I'd like to swap them 1 or 2 at a time for 1 or 2 skeins of another colorway of Silky Merino, or else skeins of regular Malabrigo Merino, so I can do several small projects in different colors, that sort of thing. I don't mind if these are all from one person or from several.

I would consider swapping for 8 of something in some colorways (stuff I think I'd wear a sweater in) so feel free to offer if that's what you've got.

Pictures behind the cut along with a list of the colorways I'm interested in (quite a few.)

Desperately seeking Koigu! [11 Nov 2008|11:52am]

shara
Hi everyone!

I'm in desperate need of a skein of Koigu KPPPM P858!!! I am half way through a pair of socks and discovered the second ball I bought is a different (but very similar) colourway. :/

I am willing to swap this other ball of Koigu (628) or to just buy it outright. I also have a few other misc yarns to trade - some Sandnesgarn Alpha, Mission Falls 1824... um, not a lot... I don't stash things. :/

FYI I am in Canada - but willing to ship/pay anywhere.

4 vanna's choice for 2 sws? [05 Nov 2008|08:51pm]

gumtreecanoe
hi guys -- I just finished up knitting a chevron baby blanket, but I have 4 nearly-complete balls of vanna's choice. (like, really really nearly complete -- 2 balls are missing ~10 yards; 2 are missing ~5.)

I have 2 of kelly green and 2 of linen; I'd love 2 balls of paton's sws in natural garden.

anyone?

Want long circular to knit a Moebius, various things to trade. [27 Oct 2008|10:06pm]

grenacia
I want to try knitting my first Moebius scarf by Cat Bordhi's method. I have a Denise needle set I usually use for everything, but I want a long circular with a thinner cable that the stitches will slide along. I want a length around 47" to 55". Otherwise the important thing is that the stitches slide easily on the cable. Needle size for my first test project isn't greatly important, something between 3 and 7.

Available for trade (all links are to pictures):

Assorted superwash wool blend sock yarn Left: Lang Jawoll (2 balls gray 50g/210meters each, 1 ball green jacquard 45g/190 meters), each with spool of reinforcement thread. Right: Mega Boots Stretch (1 ball dark blue and green colorway 100g/400 meters). Bottom: Opal (1 ball 100g/425meters green and white colorway "Flamingo" pattern)

EDIT:GONE. Classic Elite Desert yarn Beautiful blue colorway, 3 balls each 110yards/50grams thick and thin.

ggh Molina cotton yarn 9 balls green colorway, 7 balls blue colorway, 50g/100meters each ball.

Rowan blend yarns 2 balls wool cotton (pink SH959) each 123 yards/50grams. 3 balls all seasons cotton (2 balls teal, 1 ball gray) each 98yards/50grams. EDIT:PINK YARN GONE

Odds and Ends of yarn. Far left: Classic Elite Imagine, 50g/93 yards cotton/rayon shiny white. Clockwise from there: Uruguay Chunky in Olive 50g/73 yards Merino/Alpaca/Silk, and 2 mystery yarns 1.25oz each pale green fluffy thin and light purple thick. Center: Noro Silk Garden Lite Color 2014, 50g/125meters (After I took the photo I thought of a project I want to use the Silk Garden for, so I'd only trade it if someone has a really awesome offer, or wants to trade it for a similar yarn I like and can substitute, such as Cash Iroha or a different colorway of Silk Garden Lite). EDIT:Uruguay Chunky and Silk Garden are GONE.

Classic Elite Denim yarn Indigo Dyed Cotton, 6 skeins, 50gram/100yards each

Pinguin Nacre green yarn Viscose/Cotton 2 balls 50 gram, 115yards each

Classic Elite Patina yarn 5 balls black, 1 ball copper. 50g/108 yards each cotton/silk.

Silver Sage NatureSpun Worsted yarn 100% wool, Skeined for dyeing, I can dye it to custom colorway(s) for you. Skeins are 245yards/100grams. I have 2 full skeins, 3 partial skeins that amount to a little over another full skein, and a smaller partial skein with color that doesn't quite match.

Reynolds Mandalay yarn 100% silk, 5 skeins 50grams/98yards. Color 05, a pale greenish yellow, but again I would be happy to overdye them in a custom colorway(s).

Red and purple acrylic yarn Natura Wintuk, 4ply worsted, 1 and a half skeins Violet, a skein is 3.5oz. 1 skein Red Heart Super Saver in Claret. 1 skein Caron Cozi in Firebrick

EDIT:GONE Contessa vintage green acrylic yarn approximately 4 and a half skeins mint and 1 and a half skeins avocado. 4 ounces a skein, 4ply worsted

"The Urban Knitter" - pattern book by Lily M. Chin

Pattern: Soda Springs Sock 'The eyelet rib pattern used in these socks is a “cheater cable.” It looks like a cable but you don’t use a cable needle, so it’s easier to knit. The pattern also behaves like a rib making the sock fit well.' Designed for 1 skein Mountain Colors Bearfoot. I got this pattern in a kit with yarn, but I want to use the yarn for something else. It's a pretty pattern, though.

If you want something from my stash and don't have a needle to trade, make me a offer of yarn, and if I like your yarn better than mine I'll accept. Don't feel bad if I don't accept, though, some of these things I'm not real eager to get rid of, whereas others I really don't know what I'll do with. My favorite color is green so green things are good to offer. I'd also like copies of Elizabeth Zimmerman books, except for "Knitting Without Tears" which I already have.

EDIT: Another thing I'd like would be a basic superwash wool in 2 different colors that contrast well with each other, to play with colorwork.

ISO Green Mountain Spinnery "Cotton Comfort" in Denim [25 Oct 2008|06:06pm]

half_pint
I was attempting to destash, but ran into trouble when I realized that I'd need about 1/4 or 1/2 of a ball of Cotton Comfort to finish the edging of the vest.

I'm willing to buy or trade. Just let me know if there's anything in particular you're looking for!
