Previous Entry  Add to memories!  Tell a Friend!  Next Entry
Who: House and Wilson
What: Nightmares
When: One night
Where: House's place

It was sometime in the early morning that Wilson stirred in his sleep. Ever since his last run in with Lucifer, who had pretended to be House, he'd been having nightmares more often. At the moment he was resting in bed with his lover, and up until then they both had been sleeping peacefully, bundled up in the warm blankets together with the pale moonlight shining through the window onto them.

But as always, the nightmares came and ruined the peace. Wilson whimpered softly in his sleep and shifted more into House, trembling slightly, lips curved into a frown as his eyebrows furrowed.

He was with Greg, they were kissing, but the next moment Greg was Lucifer and he was being pinned to the wall. Lucifer merely smirked and ground against him, whispering dirty things into his ear, petting him, touching him...

Waking with a start and a soft cry, Wilson instantly sat up in bed, his body shaking as he merely scrubbed his hand over his face.

Greg thought he would get used to the nightmares, not freak out every time they came, but he didn't. Each time his lover shot up in bed, it got a raise out of the older man. This time was no different.

"What?" Greg sort of snorted out of sleep, blinking at the noise and shifting of Wilson as he looked up at the form of his friend's back.

"Another nightmare," He stated, not bothering to make it a question as his hand moved to touch Wilson's lower back lightly.

"Yeah." Wilson murmured, managing after a moment to once more calm down his breathing. That was, he supposed, the one plus of having nightmares all the time: you got good at calming down quickly. Relaxing a bit, he tilted his head to look at his lover, biting his lower lip gently. "Sorry for waking you up." He never liked that his movements woke House, knowing how much the other man appreciated his sleep.

"Yeah, well," Greg huffed, sitting up a bit and leaning on an elbow, "I planned on waking with a start at god knows what time it is in the morning," He stroked Wilson's back lightly. It was inconvenient, not getting a lot of sleep, but then, he supposed the nightmares weren't a party either.

"Mmph." He didn't mind the sarcasm too much, and simply let his lover rub his back for a moment. Running his fingers through his hair, he glanced at the wall before back at House. "I'll be right back, alright?" Wilson murmured and offered a tired smile, patting the other man's knee through the blankets before sliding out of bed and leaving the room. There was the sound of little doggy paws, as Judas found himself roused from his doggy bed in the hallway.

He followed Wilson to the bathroom, whining as the door was shut, leaving him outside. Wilson, on the other hand, simply leaned against the counter and looked at himself in the mirror, splashing a bit of water on his face. It was just a nightmare. A meaningless, stupid nightmare.

Deciding he didn't want to be alone for much longer, he opened the door and headed back to the bedroom, allow Judas to follow him inside. Wilson crawled under the blankets and moved to settle against House's side.

Greg always wanted to follow the man. Wanted to make sure he wasn't doing anything stupid, not hurting himself after the nightmares. But he fought the urge. He didn't want to find Wilson doing it, he knew that was way he reminded still in the bed, counting the minutes in his head as he waited for his lover to return. He would go and check after ten, he always told himself, and he never had to wait that long, but he was pretty sure if he did, he would wait another five. He couldn't stand the idea of finding Wilson hurt. He wanted to avoid it all costs. He had felt bad enough when he found the man with a nose bleed. If he was actually bleeding to death, Greg was sure he would be useless for his shock and dismay.

He took a breath finally when wilson came back in, and he moved to put an arm over Wilson's waist, holding him there, keeping him to himself for a bit. This comfort was for Greg as much as it was for Wilson.

Judas, once his master had settled in, leaped up onto the bed and crawled up onto House, resting on the blankets over the older man's hip. He whined softly, ears back, wanting to make sure Wilson was okay. Wilson merely yawned, though, and nuzzled his face into the curve of his lover's neck, trying to stay relaxed and focus on the other man's body heat and even breathing. Though when he heard Judas whine, he reached over to scratch the pup behind the ears.

It hadn't been too long before Greg gave in to the dog's attempts at a vague friendship. He didn't mind the warmth settling against his hip as much as he once would.

Bending his head to kiss the top of Wilson's head, Greg sighed, "I love you," He murmured gently, knowing that he not only meant it but the man would like hearing it at that moment.

The pup's tail wagged a little as he merely curled up, watching Wilson. He was going to stay there and guard the two all night. Feeling the kiss to his hair, Wilson smiled ever so faintly and tilted his head back to glance up at House, dark eyes gleaming in a silent 'thank you' because really...he was glad beyond expression that the other man was there for him.

"I love you too, Greg." He whispered after a moment, pressing their lips together in a soft kiss.

Greg looked at the man, who had been a friend for so long, then a lover, and whom he hadn't known really enough about to really be good to him, as good as he deserved. Guilt came with every loving glance he got since Wilson had informed him fully of his depression. He should have noticed. For someone who claimed to notice everything, Greg had missed something huge.

He returned the kiss, pouring anything from love to reassurance into it as his hand settled on Wilson's waist to lightly brush his thumb against the bone.

Relaxing easily into the kiss, Wilson closed his eyes and just smiled, letting his fingers move through the other man's hair. Oh yes, he really loved House more than he'd like to admit sometimes. Breaking the kiss after a moment, the young man merely nuzzled their noses together, eyes still closed.

"Thank you." He murmured softly, eyes finally sliding open, gleaming in the moonlight.

Greg wouldn't admit it, either, but he loved Wilson just as much. He loved how the man kissed him, the fingers in his hair, the conversations they had while watching bad tv, the fun they had eating even worse take out and how he coudl hold the man whenever he wanted, touch him, kiss him, have him. Everything was what Greg needed, and the man was so willing to give it.

He nodded a little at the thank you, licking his lips and looking away from the man's gaze, "S'alright. You okay now?"

Once House looked away, Wilson allowed his eyes to flutter shut again. "Yeah. S'long as I've got you, I think I'll be alright." Smiling faintly, he kissed his lover's scruffy cheek before simply settling in. To himself, he was praying for the rest of the night to be free of bad dreams. One a night was bad enough, and eventually he was sure he was going to have to go and see a shrink about it so he'd stop having them altogether.

But that was something to save for another day.

"Alright," Greg nodded a bit as he settled down again as well, pulling Wilson a bit closer as he gave the man a light kiss to the cheek and closed his eyes, taking a little breath and trying to get back to sleep. He wanted the nightmares to stop because James didn't deserve them. The man just didn't.

With House to hold him, and Judas to guard them both, Wilson felt safe and finally drifted to sleep. This time to have dreams of a wedding and the resulting honeymoon.

It was certainly better than the nightmares.
