I have this sleeping bag that I throw over the top of my bed every day, so that when the cats sleep on the bed, they won't cover my quilt and pillows with fur. And then they burrow their way under the sleeping bag and sleep on my pillows all day. It's a wonder I'm not coughing up furballs with this motley crew! :)

My beloved kitty Max - the furry love of my life for 18 odd years, took a turn for the worse yesterday and I had to have him put down.

I wanted to post a quick little tribute to him - he was supremely loving, goofy and unique in every way - a feline embodiment of pure love and I was so lucky that I got to be the person he picked to take his journey with.

He had thyroid and kidney issues as well as a heart murmur, but really and truly was in pretty good trim until yesterday. It is sad but he did have a long life and was absolutely adored the whole time so lucky him as well.

On Monday I received my Secret Santa package from chococat. It was FANTASTIC! She sent all sorts of great things for Alley Cat, and she even included a little something for me and my dog :D

I didn't plan on getting an entire package of toys 'just' for Frankenstein (not that I actually believed all four of them wouldn't attack) - really! But somewhere along the line 'her' color somehow became pink, so when I found a package of pink & black kitty toys I couldn't resist. We ended up with 4 packs of toys to be divided among 4 cats, so she's really not that spoiled...

We received our secret santa gift from lumpyhead. Oy, our orange male, Cassie, our grey female and Skeeter, our brown tabby would like to say thank you. They love their new toys. There was even something for our senegal bird, ET! He felt special and loves the treat boxes!

It's been wonderful to be able to participate in the annual Kitty Pix secret Santa exchange for the 4th year in a row. This year our Secret Santa was Suzie & Harry, and boy did they spoil my boys! Sadly, Kit'en was feeling camera shy, and refused to come down stairs when the postman rang the door bell, but Itty, being the social butterfly he is, was not only happy to greet, but very happy to inspect the items as well. However, he wasn't very happy to sit still for photos. In fact, every time I went to snap, he'd see the camera phone in my hand and try to get pets from it. *Eye roll* My boy... he's a slut for pets. So without further ado, The photos of the spoilings!
