I've been a lurker here for a little while, but I've never posted because it's hard for me to get any decent pictures of my baby. But today I bought her a little catnip pillow from PetSmart and she went nuts for it! I had to video it. :3

Since my ex-boyfriend has moved away, Quint has become a little, needy, whiney baby. ^_^


....he's still cute though.

yay! we managed to find an animal rescue worker to take in the kittens.
we'll be meeting her tonight and checking credentials :)

my co-worker brought in 2 kittens, they have to be less than a week old.
obviously they need to be fed at least every two hours, and boy are they
some fussy little beasts!

anyway, we have called around for about 8 hours, looking for either a rescue
that can take them, someone with a lactating cat, or someone who
is home all day and doesn't mind feeding them.

unfortunately after said 8 hours we have found nothing.
we've had the humane society say that they would just be put to sleep,
we've had ONE rescue actually call back to say they couldn't take them.
none of the veterinary offices have any leads outside of what we already have.

it's so frustrating! we'd be okay keeping them if we were home all day,
but we only managed to sneak them in today because the CEO is out of the office.
he'd have flipped if he had seen this!

anyway, if anyone knows anyone in michigan [oakland, macomb, wayne, washtenaw, livingston] that would be willing to bottle feed 2 four-day old kitties, please send them my way.

Nyxie sucks her foot when she cuddles on my lap. She lays down on her left side, works the fur into a nipple, sucks, purrs and kneads. She only does it on my lap or when cuddled up to me in bed. I think she thinks that I'm her mommy. She's almost 10 years old and has been doing this all along, except that it was her leg that she sucked on until she couldn't reach it.

So, I received a message from my foster care coordinator over at Purrfect Pals asking if I could take in a couple simi-feral kittens and to socialize them. She had two antagonizers who were feeding off each other with the growling and hissings so she wanted to separate them because that can help them calm down. She told me that I can have one mean one and one sweet one.

It started off with hisses-n-spits but I worked my feline charm and got the torbi girl (the sweet one) purring which relaxed the mean orange boy and started him purring - and soon letting me get some partial belly rubs. Having kitty treats and canned cat food helped, but I'm not above bribing hiss-pots. I don't have their names yet because they shredded their paperwork at the foster coordinator's house and she has to get them to me.

So the end of my lease is up at the place I am at, and I am looking for a new place because the boys want to live together without a roommate now.

Today I checked out a place that would allow me to have ALL THREE cats back, Molly, Macaroni, and Cheese. <3 Which is amazing because I miss them so so so much! The price is right too, $250 a month including utilities and I get my own bathroom and private entrance. PLUS ALL THREE KITTIES. omg. so I am asking you all to hope and pray and send good thoughts my way in hopes that I can get this place. I WANT MAC AND CHEESE BACK! :)

I spent the weekend at my parents' house. They live in the country and have a few cats of their own, and the cats from the neighboring farm come wandering over and hang out at their house because the food's better and they get pettins from my mama. My mother's adopted a few of them as her own officially, with the neighbors' blessing. One of them is a wee kitten she has named Winnie Pooh Bear. Winnie is tiny and totally tailless. Not even a nub! She was born that way, as were many of her siblings and cousins. She's a limp bit of fuzz when she's asleep, and a wound up spring when she's awake and playing. I only got pics of her asleep as she's hard to catch on camera when she's awake and bouncy.

Velcro is getting bigger and of course getting into trouble all the time.

Like any good kitten he enjoys "helping" with various things around the house. Here he is helping me apply a traction pad to my new board. He also enjoys helping with laundry and helping me type when I have to work from home. He often sits on my shoulder while I do dishes and watches in fascination, following the motion of my hands with his eyes. Now, if only I could put him to work!
