Hi I am looking for a Kirk Spock fic I read years ago (atlest say about 4-6 years ago, I am not quite certain when or where I read it) so I don't remember it quite well and I have more vague memories of what impressions/feelings the fic caused in me than the actual plot. I hope someone recognises atleast something from it.

I think it was an AU (nothing drastic) but the beginning basically had Kirk and Spock getting married.

I don't remember if it was their first meeting or if in it Spock had left the Enterprise because of politics/pon farr and Kirk had gone after him to get Spock back.

But the story begins in a warm/desert planet (Vulcan?) where Spock meets for the first time his spouse (Kirk) his parents had arranged for him because of political manouvering or because of Spocks pon farr had started. This marriage is not a joyous occasion but as Spock sees it more of a business transaction/burden or something along the lines of that.

The fic had a very big feeling of detachment from Spock, though he does get quite attached to Kirk and is in denial about it because he thinks Kirk agreed to the marriage only because of some kind of bargain/agreement (blackmail from Spocks parents?) he had with Spocks parents (perhaps there even was a time limit to how long the marriage will last? I don't remember it clearly).

There is some kind of miscommunication, or more lack of communication between Spock and Kirk that causes the other to think/consider breaking up.

Kirk can't understand why Spock is so very emotionally distant (I think they were becoming friendly and then Spock had a "Oh shit! I want more but this is business moment" and turned cold again)

Even the sex was detached/Spock held back a lot in mind melding ect.

I think the situation was in the beginning they were estranged/strangers -> became friendly/realish couple -> Spock had his "Oh shit moment" and pulled back to estranged but polite -> Kirk was confused because of it and also pulled back -> In the break of seperating -> They finally both understand that they both are intrested in continuing things and have finally some real communication -> Turn in to real power couple! And fic ends

By the end they clear things up and understand that both are actually quite taken with the other and serious about the marriage/partnership and agree to continue it.

So does anyone recognise it at all? Sorry for being so vague, but I more remember the emotional detachment between the two and the fic taking place in Vulcan/desert setting, than anything more clear. It had slow development and good characterization.


Also does anyone know of some good old hot Pon Farr fics? Could be humorous, dark, serious, romantic ect. Any kind would do. I would love to see the different takes people have written on the situation.

Umm...hi guys, I'm de-lurking to ask you all to help me in finding a fic. So, here goes: all I remember about it is that some admiral or ambassador comes aboard the Enterprise and hits on Kirk. Spock finds out and is wildly jealous - I think he tries to attack the admiral, but the admiral stops him because he was bonded once to a Vulcan too, or something like that.

I read it once, loved it, and can't find the damn thing again - it's possibly on the K/S archive, though I've looked through it, but knowing me it's probably hiding somewhere really obvious.

I'd love to read some fics Kirk/Spock first-time fics that feature a Virgin!Spock.

It would be particularly good if Spock was embarrassed to still be a virgin by his age... or perhaps he expected sex to be merely functional/mechanical - and then is delighted to be proved wrong ;-)

Bonus points for an actual plot that leads to their first time, a loving/caring Kirk, and much hotness...

New to the fandom but I've been a long time fan of Star Trek. I've just gotten into K/S, and the friendship as well as the fanfiction that delves into the romantic nature between the two. I would love to read some actual books that might explore the relationship. I've seen 'The Entropy Effect' posted as a rec'd book. Are there any others that might be a good exploration of the Kirk/Spock relationship?

Also, I've heard a lot of good hurt/comfort fics are still limited only to zines. Are there any specific ones that have some good Kirk is hurt and Spock comforts (or something close to that) out there in a zine that someone could specifically reccomend? And any advice how to get old zines at reasonable prices (I'm a grad student, so I'm quite poor) would also be great help.

I've been reading a bit in this fandom for the past couple of months (I'll get around doing my own recs here one day!), and discovered myself a soft kink for fics where either Spock or Kirk gets apparently brushed off by the other before things get better.

I have been reading from various rec lists, the only thing I've competently gone through in its entirety being the Side By Side zine. Therefore would there be, preferably outside that particular zine, stories to recommend where rejection (or rather, perceived rejection, or forced rejection, like in a twisted reverse of the old trick into aliens-made-them-not-do-it) is prominently featured?

TOS and ST:XI fics welcomed equally, as long as there's some K/S down the road. Thank you!

If you're familiar with the Smallville, SGA, Merlin (or a number of other fandoms), you probably already know seperis. She's an amazing writer, able to craft fiction that blends plot seamlessly with living, breathing characters. Diving into the Star Trek fandom, she doesn't disappoint here.

This is a story about Kirk and Spock struggling to find their way in a more broken universe while fighting against the ghosts of who they once were and who they could still be. "You'll Get There in the End" is a story not to be missed.

I thought it was originally posted as a rec here, but hunting through the archive, I can't find it.

So, anyone have a link (yes, I read it on-line) to the following story?

It's a K/S that has everyone on a planet for shore leave.  Kirk, Spock and McCoy are out shopping and McCoy teases Jim about buying Spock a very revealing set of underwear.  Somehow Kirk makes a purchase, and McCoy substitutes a way too small pair of the undies in a gift box for Spock.  The gift gets delivered to their hotel.  Spock opens it, decides that the gift means that Kirk loves him and puts the underwear on.  There is a power outage at the hotel and somehow Spock (only in the skimpy undies) gets locked out of his room.  He travels in the dark to Kirk's room, meeting various crewmen (who can't see him) on the way.  Eventually there is a happy ending.

Someone out there must recognize it?  Help?

This is one of those stories that hurts. Anyone who's ever been on the brink of downing a bottle of pills or slashing their wrist and have managed to pull back, or maybe just survived anyway, will see themselves in little Jimmy Kirk.

The James T. Kirk in this universe is neglected, abused and messed up in every way possible. That old quote - whatever doesn't kill you makes you stronger - well that's bullshit to this Kirk. Whatever hasn't killed him, or driven him off the proverbial cliff happens to be his life. The beauty that comes through is how he manages to keep himself throughout it - to keep his sanity, his laughter, his soul and his ability to love.

So go read and leave viggorlijah lots of comments and love.

Yes, this story is on fanfiction.net. However, it's been my experience that this archive does contain the occasional truly amazing story, and this is one such gem. (I hope that it hasn't been recc'd already, I'm kind of new here :)

This author has an excellent grasp of the characters and all their complexities. The focus is very much on Spock and Kirk (XI universe), with appearances by Kirk's mother, Spock Prime, Bones, and several well written oc's that in no way detract from the main pairing.

There are currently nine chapters. The dates at the top imply regular updates, and Lanaea's previous fanfic history shows stories are completed and not left as WIP's.

I most definitely recommend this for sheer plotty goodness, the possible h/c factor, and thoughtful insights into what makes Kirk and Spock tick ;)
