Well announcement follows announcement. ^^
We've picked up another Drama we're going to sub in Summer season. It's the Special Drama of 24hours TV airing on 30th August 2008. I'm gladly announcing:
Myuu no Anyo, Papa ni Ageru!
(I will give papa Myuu's legs)
It's a one time Special drama starrring Matsumoto Jun and Karina. A true story about 25 year old Yamaguchi Hayato with a wife and 2 year old daughter who has the CIDP disease, which hit every 100,000 person and is incurable.
Last friends update:
- Episode 10: needs to be QC-ed and encoded (hopfully this time we don't need 7 runs like for episode 9)
- Episode 11: 100% translated, 50% edited and Timing in progress
- Special: Translating.
We're going to do the Last friends Special as well (it was a re-cap kind of special), but we can only to that after exam sessions are over means towards end of august. Thank you for being patient.

Kioku's next project will be the NHK drama that starts airing Thursday, August 28, 2008 at 2000h, Cat Street! Hopefully it will be a weekly release and is a total of 6 episodes. It is based on the manga of the same name, by Kamio Youko, the manga artist who had done Hana Yori Dango! The cast for Cat Street includes Tanimura Mitsuki, Kurokawa Tomoka, Arai Moe, Miyama Karen, Takabe Ai, Kaku Chikako, Ishiguro Hideo, Katsuji Ryou, Kimura Ryou, Takahashi George, Namase Katsuhisa, Baba Tooru, and Fukusawa Arashi.

This is just a short information about Last Friends progress.
Well right now we're a little slowed down due to a Translator's change of location to a pretty rural place and a part of Team being distracted by EURO 2008. *grin* But we're working on it. As we try to be as accurate as possible it takes a little more time for the Translations cause we let them check by japanese people.
We're planning a double release on 8 and 9 next week when our encoder's back from her business Trip around Tuesday and afterwards a soon release of 10.
Thank you very much to everyone for writing those nice comments even if we don't come back to all, we read them. Last friends is really a good drama and we're happy people enjoy watching it.
Yeah so that was the short update. Thank you for your patience.

We're bringing you Episode 5 of Last friends.
Also we'd like to mention that lately there have been some incidents which happened lately in Japan. That's also the reason why the HQ files, which we use to encode, are released later as usually, so our releases might be slowed down because of this.
We really appreciate those who take the risk to upload them for us. So we really hope that watchers of Subs appreciate the whole work behind it and also repsect the rules made by subbers, there's a reason for those. Especially the rule of streaming sites as this provocates such incidents.
Anyway enjoy this epsiode.

Our staff recently suffered the loss of a translator, unexpectedly setting us back a few days , and due to the stresses of the closing semester this episode took a little longer to pull out than normal. Episode five should be released on time.

Please note:
We are releasing a second version of this episode after receiving requests from people for more compact version that would fit on a data CD. While many of us possess the ability to burn multiple episodes onto a DVD, there are still some that do not, and we do not wish to make the process of creating space on their harddrive more difficult.
We also wish to update on the current state of episode four. We are almost complete with this episode, and we apologize for the delay. We'd like to thank our whole team for working so quickly on this episode! However, this will be the only week for a release this fast. Our encoder, is leaving in some 2 hours or so for her trip during Golden Week (plus she didn't sleep! O.o) and we didn't want to delay this episode.Murphy put up a really good fight with us too, when we were trying to get the episode from the encoder to the torrent uploader. But in the end, we prevailed! In addition, Episode 4 will not be released before May 6th, for the same reason. Well, not Murphy. But for waiting for Aki to come back. ^^v
This file is around 705MB and right now, we don't have the time to re-encode it. We wanted to see how many people this might be a problem for since it will not fit onto a CD. ^^; Depending upon the response, we might re-encode it to shave off a few more MBs.
We'd like to hear your opinions about this though, so feel free to comment!

Please note:
We decided to release a second version for this episode since there were quite a few people who mentioned that the subs were hard to read. Having not used this font yet with an HDTV source, we didn't really realise that the font really did become harder to read! So we've increased the size and it should be easier to read. Some of the typesetting has been changed as well. In addition, our regular encoder, Aki, is back! As such, codec compression for version 2 is XviD.
If you were happy with the first version, no need to download this one. For anyone who would prefer to have consistent sizing in subtitles for the rest of the series, you'll want to download this version. ^^v

Hi Everyone,
Updates about our current projects!
I won't be able to answer any questions about these later on because I don't have much time during the coming drama season! ^^; So hopefully, the following is fairly clear:
Last Friends:
As announced previously, we will be subbing Last Friends, which starts next week on Thursday, April 10th, 2008. We plan to release the torrents on D-Addicts. We're also planning for a weekly release, so the episode should be out before the next episode comes out. Bear in mind that this is a tentative release schedule. ^^;
