Welcome

This is an icon award community for fans of the Disney/Square-Enix game, Kingdom Hearts and its subsequent titles. We would like you to join our friendly and creative competition! Please be sure to read the following rules and guidelines prior to joining, submitting, and voting. Thanks, and welcome to the community!

Rules for Participation

All members of the community are able to participate. Icons are limited to any Kingdom Hearts related graphics - either from the games, official artwork, or manga. Fan art will not be accepted. Your submission must also be hosted by your own server - please see LiveJournal's FAQ for more info on how to host your images (Photobucket is an excellent free image server).

Icons must be:
- no more than 40 k in file size
- no more than 100x100 pixels in dimension
- be no more than 10 days old at time of submission
- meet the criteria of the current theme

- Unless otherwise specified in the Submission Post, all members are limited to one [1] icon per entry. The moderator reserves the right to choose which icon will participate in the vote if more than one icon is submitted when the theme does not designate more than one is allowed. No notice will be given, so please, read the rules CAREFULLY with each submission post!

- Do not advertise your icon. Meaning, don't get your friends, family, pets to vote for you. This allows for a fair competition and gives everyone an equal chance to win.

- You are not allowed to vote for your own icon.

- All submitted icons should not be used/posted/shown to the public during the theme to which it was submitted to until after voting for that week is over. Entrants' journals are checked at random to check for this and violators will be given a warning. If not resolved, the entry will be disqualified. ALSO, none of the icons shown on this community are available to download/be used until after the results for their submitted themes are posted. Only after the results are released is the submission post for that theme unscreened, making the icons available with permission from their creators. Any submitted icon shown publicly/used publicly before the results are posted will be disqualified - so please, don't do this.

Updated 09/19/07 - Any image regarding new material from new/future KH titles, be it game or manga, that has been published in a magazine (domestic or foreign) or other official form released by Square-Enix and/or Disney can be used for icons. You view icons at this community at your own risk of being spoiled. A "no spoiler" rule can and will be implemented once a new game/title has been officially released for sale, either in Japan or domestically.

Any questions about any of the rules are welcomed, just reply to any entry.

Submitting

The new theme is announced in the voting post for the current week's theme. Submissions are accepted Monday through Friday. Submit your icon to the theme prompt post via comments and include the following:

1. Your username
2. Your icon
3. Your icon's URL

Failure to meet all 3 criterion will result in your icon not being accepted. Please make sure you've also closely followed the requirements specified by the individual theme, which are explained in the submission post. Failure to follow these requirements will also result in disqualification. All submissions are screened.

Voting

All community members are allowed to vote. Voting begins on Friday at 9 pm US Eastern Time (estimated). Please be sure to allow for the time difference depending on where you live; if you are uncertain what time this is where you are, refer to the times for either New York or Miami via the [World Clock]. Voting ends on Sunday at 9 pm US Eastern Time (estimated). All votes are screened. The voting prompt entry will outline how many icons you are to vote for.

After the winners are announced, the submission post will be unscreened to allow the public to request the submitted icons from their creators.

Icon Of the Year Award

During the month of December, the Icon Of the Year Award voting begins, selecting all of the first place winners from the current year and pitting them against each other to become finalists toward the Icon Of the Year Award. During the first week of January, voting among the finalists takes place and the ultimate winner is proclaimed the Icon Of the Year.
