Summary: Ken can't let go of the past, and he suspects and wonders and fears that it may be the same for Takeru.

( He feels guilty, hates himself for it, but he just can’t see Takeru the way everyone else does. )

First off, this isn't about Ken/Takeru persay. However, the discussion here has been very thoughtful and articulate, so I thought that this would be a good place to ask: what do you think of Ken's intelligence? Not as the Kaiser, but after the Dark Seed's control has lost its effects on him.

02 leaves this in a grey area, so I've seen many interpretations -- but not much real analysis.

I have my own opinions, but I'll hold off on them until I hear what other people have to say. :D Especially because all my points are sort of jumbled and all over the place. And tl;dr, basically.

Why Takeru? I can't help but wonder what separates him in Ken's mind from say Daisuke or Miyako? Why would Ken choose him over the other two?

My thoughts on the issue are rather straight forward I wonder what others think. Daisuke was always very bouncy and full of energy I think its something Ken given his methodical studious nature could only handle in small doses. Miyako lacks the finesse and empathy to really help Ken with his deep rooted issues, that girl has all the subtlety of an 18 wheeler.

I wasn't going to do this until the entire chapter was done, but as I'm not likely to get around to finishing it any time soon, I may as well post it to this community. I do apologize for lack of Takeru and Ken, but half the reason I had so much trouble writing this was that they weren't there =).

Anyway, hope you enjoy what's available. It's only 2/5ths done.

( Unfinished Knight of Swords chapter 9 )

Does ajora intend to finish knight of swords? Its on tarnished wings and FF.net but to my knowledge both are incomplete. I know she's around here somewhere... *pokes around* Im asking because its one of the few well put together kenkeru works on FF.net and I want to know how it ends.

What kind of relationship do you think the kenkeru thing is? Putting aside simply seme and uke what do you think the dynamic of the relationship is? What do you think the basis for it is?? How do you think Daisuke fits into all this???

At the start of it, I can see Takeru being the over protective type given Ken's very fragile state. Once Ken has recovered though I can see the dynamic shifting towards more of n equal footing. Takeru seems to have that hero streak in him that knight on horse back motif. Ken needs that and Takeru well he needs to be needed if that makes any sense. The basis of the relationship I think starts out as emotional support and grows into something more significant as the two kind of click with each other.

As for Daisuke I see him going three possible ways about this. First he's the straight best friend who just kind of goes with the flow, probably excited because now Hikari is attainable. The other option is that he's secretly crushing on one of the two and might try and be the third in the relationship turning into a daikenkeru. The third option is that realizing that with Ken and Takeru into each other that leaves the girls in the group open Daisuke becomes the biggest player this side of Yamato.

Personally I think the third option is hilarious.

This is really about the mental construct known as the digimon Kaiser. Think about it the Kaiser persona really isn't Ken's fault. It's a creation of his need to emulate his dead brother and garner the respect and love from his parents. The need wouldn't have been present had it not been for poor parenting on the part of the elder ichijougi's. What are your thoughts on the issue?

I'm going to argue that the Kaiser is a product of his environment and not the dark spore. For the purpose of this discussion let us assume that the spore is nothing more than data specifically on how to build and maintain spires, rings and towers and nothing more.

What do you all think is he a product of his environment? or is Ken simply acting on his own angsty evil nature? or is there something more?
