Yes, folks, you are reading that correctly. The room that will at some point be my abode is currently damned near stacked to the bloody ceiling with boxes, so I have been crashing with apollymi at night. We've been working away at the boxes, but I swear to god they are fucking multiplying back there, like warped psychotic rabbits. I'm probably going to be working on boxes all day tomorrow, at least to the point where the only things in there are the boxes that are, in fact, things that go in my bedroom and not things that go to the living room, kitchen, or Li's room. I also intend to use Saturday and Sunday if need be to finish unpacking my own boxes, seeing as the last time we moved two years ago I still had things that were still packed when we were prepping to move over here. I refuse to let that happen again.

So, anyways, yeah. I'm sort of back, but will be at least another two or three days before I'm officially back to writing anything, including Threads and the calendar prompt fics (although I'm pretty sure there may be mini-demand for sequels or prequels to Come What May and Responsibility judging by reaction to those two prompts in particular O.o). Honestly, I may have to take another couple of vacation days in order to get all caught up on unpacking. Yikes. *wanders off to find something to preoccupy her time, maybe that copy of Aliens versus Predators comic from 1991 she started reading earlier before setting up the computer again*

Okay. I managed to find myself another little writing prompt, this one from listening to the radio while at work. It's amazing what you come up with from a single line in a song... especially when your own damned mind throws you a twist midway through it.

Well, I finally got to the point where I was staring incoherently at the monitor so I decided to use that to my advantage and wander about the LJ comms looking for potential prompts. I finally stumbled over some I could get behind on 5_sense

Now, let me make it clear that I'm not joining the community; I'm just snagging the prompts list to play around with for a few minutes. And I'm limiting them to the same specs I gave myself in my prompt post from yesterday: in the 100 to 1000 words range. Let's see how I do.

The prompts I'm playing with are from List Two on 5_sense's profile: thought, love, movement, laughter, memory.

Well, since I'm still mildly under the weather and want to make sure that I have full attention on Threads when I start the next chapter, I'm putting that story on temporary hiatus until after my move is completed (I'll be offline completely from August 1 until sometime August 4, that's all I can guarantee with unpacking and the like). However, I can never not write for very long, and still want to keep focused on xxxHOLiC so I'm in the right mindset for the next chapter.

So, what I'm asking of my readers is this: Give me a prompt.

Nothing big. It can be a one-word prompt, a scenario, a full-blown idea, whatever. My only limitation on myself is to keep it between drabble-length (100 words or less) and flash-fic-length (200 to 1000 words). This is just to keep me (a) writing and (b) from becoming so bored I simply sit and stare at my monitor all day long.

Mainly, though, my mind is still utterly blown away from going to watch The Dark Knight this morning. Just... wow. I already knew it was gonna be great, but it completely rocked my socks. I can't even slip back into my xxxHOLiC mindset long enough to type. I keep going homg, clown will eat me if I sleep and then start looking around as if I'm honestly expecting the Joker or Two-Face to jump out and shoot me or something.

I know, I'm a freak.

Hopefully there'll be more "Threads" tomorrow. Or, y'know, this damned post-series speculation fic idea that's bopping about in my head. There can only be trouble when the opening line in your head is "It was five years after Watanuki disappeared when Doumeki realized he wasn't aging."
