Fanfiction idea! Request!!!
Considering Aangs upcomming choice between, what he knows he has to do and what he thinks he wants to do, I think that Zutara actually will have an important role in the next season.

Heroes with great power at their dispossal have to face the temptation of using them for selfish reasons once in a story and I see Koh being the one trying to woo Aang to "the dark side". xD Besides, friends or not, Zuko will always be Aangs rival, in almost EVERY aspect of Aangs life.

What I want to request, is you guys to write a fanfic (I know that there are some awesome artists around here) in which Koh contacts Aang similarily to Avatar Rokus dragon in the episode the "Spirit world", to reveal to Aang that Zuko and Katara have become a pair, after Zuko became their ally, just before Aang was about to let Katara go in order to open up his 7th and final chakra in order to change Aang into the power of destruction he, without a doubt, is capable to be.

How would he show him that if all he can do is show faces hes stolen? But yea, I do see the point with Zutara breaking Aang out of his holding back the avatar state katara connection-thing. I do feel kinda bad for Aang if Zutara happened, but like, he already is acting like she is his and she never really returns the crush for that to be even kind of valid. So it kind of makes me loose sympathy. Only because I've been in a similar situation, where one of my good friends had a crush on me, and I never returned those feelings, yet when I went out with someone else he got really pissed more like I had CHEATED on him?! That pissed me off so bad.

The only thing I have sympathy for, is the plot and if Aangs choice between his crush (and like you said, before someone goes "Aww, poor Aang", people should think, if he is giving anything up, but an unhealthy fixation on Katara actually) and being the Avatar, turns out to be hollow one (meaning that he can have both, saving the world and ending up with Katara), it would actually ruin it (though I still have faith in the creators to not pull off a Disney ending). I mean why bothering to build up this conflict, if his wish is granted anyway?
Like I always say: Kataang = only some fluff; Zutara = actually conflict, character development and a good plot (and saying that Kataang is interesting, because Aang has to choose between Katara and the world, is blatantly wrong, since it is the end of Kataang that is interesting here, not the shipp itself).

As for Koh. Why not? Rokus dragon could perform this by touching Aang with his wisker, this Panda spirit could communicate by touching Aang too. Heck even Appa and Gyatso could comunicate through a spiritual link. I don't see why, if Aang lets Koh close to him, wouldn't the acient spirit Koh be able to show him pictures of Zutara happening.

yea it totally turned me off completely that he would choose an unrequited crush over the safety and peace of the world forevs.

Yea i guess koh could do that, never really thought of it. but he did shait to his past life's love interest to piss him off i can see him doing it again.

I think I already said that once. Aang is destined to be loved as the Avatar and not as a boyfriend, sharing divine/spiritual love as the fantasy version of the Dalailama/Pope he actually is. He should accept it by now.
I still think that Zutara is the way to go, since it can be supported by theories and philosophies of Hinduism and Taoism (In Toaism sun and moon represent yin and yang as an example) and even shares resemblance to several couples from animes, the creators named as their influence (most obvious one being of course the two main characters from Princess Mononoke). It's also the only possible pairing for Katara can be in, Aang will be against the most during the shows progress on the one hand, but also the pairing, that has the best chances to be accepted by Aang on the other hand by the shows end (it represent Aangs goal as the Avatar being a union of contradicting elements and former enemies).
Lol, when will people learn that Aangs OTP is Zutara. Zuko and Katara wouldn't have even met, wouldn't it be for Aang, the Avatar.

lol at calling Aang the pope. He more like Jesus who just keeps on coming back. haha. I guess you wouldn't need a pope if Jesus just kept coming the hell back to lead the church or whatever. But avatar isn't god hes like, spirit of earth. MAYBE THERE IS AVATARS ON JUPITER TOOOOOOOOO. sorry its 5am and i have insomnia. I think all the Miazakakaiiaiaiaiai movies I've seen have just blended together in my mind, all the main people are the damn same person. I personally found the characters in miazakikiki movies to be boring and unrelateable, like you didn't give a crap what happened to any of the characters because they didn't even act/say things like real people, but the stories were ok, and obviously the visual is amazing which is why I've watched them a few times each. Like alot of anime is like that and I have like no attention span or caring for the characters in them. But avatar adds the good azn anime backgrounds and storyline only they make it more interesting and the characters you actually care about alot. wow. babbling and i dont even know what im talking about. so tired.

The Avatar spirit is being reborn into a human, but the role of the Avatar surpasses that of his mortal host (that's the similarity to holy men like the Dalailahma, the pope or a Tulku). Aang is bound to surpass this by rissing to divinity in order to become fully aware of his power (7th chakra). Note that, whenever Aang got into the Avatar state he was rising up into the air (quite symbolical).
Unfortunetly he is just a boy and fears responcibility. This feeling gets even stronger, when he can constantly count on the security Katara gives him. Unfortunetly Kataras very maternal behavior is most likely to blame for Aangs swooning this way and his clinging to the possibility to have romantic relationship with her is holding him back.
As a matter of fact this "love" for Katara does actually more harm to him, then actually letting her go. Oh well, go Zutara!^^

Hahaha, I'm catholic, thats not how the pope works. Hence why I laughed in the first place. The pope is just the appointed predessesor to Saint Peter, to lead the church, just like voting for a new president of the united states, except he is voted for by cardinals. He is an appointed leader not a reencarnation of any spirit. Dalai Lamas, Tulku's yes, but the catholic church doesn't get any of that continuous reencarnation fun stuffs. We got like one time and then he comes back for rapture, how fun. Enough about religion, I just had to make sure people aren't thinking that jesus keeps coming back as the pope everytime or anything like that. I agree with all the Aang stuff. It sucks to be him. I will be really disgusted if Kataang ends the series.

Did I say something about rebirth? No. All of them represent a spiritual authority in one person and the only love they experience is the one they get from their followers (sry couldn't describe it better and divine/spiritual love still sounds better :P). Sure the pope isn't a reincarnation of god (like duh!), but none of them are. The Dalailama, Pope and Tulku are holy men, not more and not less and all of them take on a funktion as spiritual mediators. Of course I can't claim, that the pope is the rebirth of St. Peter either, but he gains authority by being a direct successor of St. Peter, who got authority from Jesus directly.
When I compared Aang to this men, I addressed solely the mortal part of Aang (the one with the crush on Katara), but not the spiritual one, that identifies him as a messiah in AtlA, although both are a part of the same person (of course by not wanting to open the 7th chakra Aang was denying this part of himself). Of course in the end the boy will have to embrace the spirit, which should've render a romantic relationship impossible, but I could still see him being loved like my examples from real life mentioned before (and hey, that certainly isn't a bad thing, because in all religions "devine/spiritual love">romantic love).
Aww, boy I hate writting about relgious concepts in English, but unfortunetly AtlA, simalarily to Star Wars is heavily based on comparative mythology and comparative religion (good for us Zutarians though^^).
