| Notes ▶ IMPORTANT!!! The entries will not move up or down to match the amount of content in the topbar. You must change this manually (scroll down to Changing the Entry Position). ▶ IMPORTANT!!! This layout does not have the traditional header navigation (Recent, Archive, Friends, Userinfo) enabled. You must manually place these links by customizing the Links List. ▶ Works with Basic, Plus, and Paid accounts. ▶ Customized comment pages. ▶ Sidebar titles disabled. ▶ User/community icons by General Installation 1. Go to Journal → Customize Journal. 2. On the Choose Journal Style screen, type "Smooth Sailing" into the search box. Apply any of the listed themes. 3. Scroll down to Choose a Page Setup and make sure 2 Column (sidebar on left) is selected. 4. Click Customize your theme in the Current Theme box on the upper-right. The Navigation Strip must be active for the layout to display properly. 5. Go to Sidebar and disable all boxes except for Links. This will be your main navigation. 6. Set Links Visibility to 1. 7. Enable two Free Text boxes as Visibility 2 and 3. 8. Fill Free Text Vis. 2 with your text. 9. Paste the following code into Free Text Vis. 3 and change the links/text to suit your needs: 10. Go to Links List and define your links. 11. Make sure all sidebar box titles are disabled. This layout will not work with them. 12. Click Custom CSS. 13. Make sure both drop-down boxes are set to No. Paste the code into the box and click Save Changes. 14. Please credit 15. OPTIONAL: Upload the background image (Geomancy, Cafe Grim) to your own server. Crediting CodeChanging the Entry Position I don't recommend messing with this unless you know what you're doing! 1. Find this section in the code: 2. Change the 143px to shift the entry blocks up or down. Adding a Header Quoted from my response to .bodyblock {What you want to do is go into the .bodyblock section and add the background property, which I have bolded above. The two 0px's at the end modify the placement of the background, which you probably won't have to worry about. You also have to alter the 283px depending on the size of your header; basically, what this value does is push down the topbar and entries to make room for an image. Play around with this and see what you get! |
